They were back at the murder board at last, together, all of them in varying degrees of excitement, tension and frustration.

Using his advantage in height, Castle stood back a bit, keeping an eye on the fervent conversation going on ahead of him.

"It's definitely not murder-suicide.", Kevin exclaimed and used the cap end of his dry erase marker to point at the crime scene image, "Two close-proximity bullets to the back of the head. It'd be the weirdest suicide I've ever seen."

"Looks like an execution style setup. They were down on their knees, arms by their sides when they were killed.", Esposito added, "Lanie's looking into it. Might be two different guns this time around, but one of the wounds looks like the .22 that's been used in the other killings."

"Seems that our…buddy Oseguiro crossed his partner.", Kevin began and scratched his chin, "Maybe his partner wanted a bigger pay for his share of the deeds? Threatened to expose him as dark hidden hand behind all these killings? When he refused, his partner…cut him out."

"Cut him and his girlfriend out …", Beckett added and shook her head, "This is getting weirder and weirder."

"Two different guns though. Who kills people with two different guns. Unless there're two different killers out there…", Kevin said, unable to hide the disappointment in his voice.

It was a sentiment that enveloped the entire group as they stared at the board, trying to make sense out of the latest twists, but failing to come up with more ideas on the change of pattern.

"What if we got close to him already, and he's changing tactics now to …confuse us? It could be anybody we talked to throughout the case."

Keeping his expression unreadable, Castle endured the curious and doubting glanced he'd become so accustomed to over the years. Kevin's unbiased, intrigued frown, Beckett's slight nod as her brain skipped three steps ahead to tie his theory into their case, Esposito's outward skepticism and angry scowl that failed to hide his intelligence beneath it at all.

"The news conference! What if he was there and now he's trying to up his game. He's enjoying the fact that he's making us look like fools."

Beckett's notion hung heavily in the air between them, saying out loud what they all feared was quite plausible.

It wasn't until Castle shook his head decicively that the group returned their attention to yours truly.

"Guys, am I the only one who's having a hard time believing that Oseguiro would have been the dark hidden hand behind all this and that it was his size 6 hitman that killed him? It's obvious that the man clearly isn't the sharpest tool in the shed, sitting there and shooting at everything that moves. Somebody who meticulously planned out five killing wouldn't draw attention to himself like that. It just…it doesn't make sense.", the writer argued and stepped closer to the murder board, "What if Oseguiro had a different role in all of this? That's the only thing that makes sense. Maybe he was helping finance this…this project or he just helped organize these hits. Perhaps he returned to the murder scene looking for evidence he feared was left behind and inadvertently stumbled over Espo. And while we're at it, Espo could also be right…maybe he was just an inconvenient bad dude that tried to copycat our killer, and once he was pulled in for questioning, he became a liability. It would also mean our killer is still out there, so is the guy pulling all the strings in the background."

"Not bad for a guy who writes fiction…", Esposito complimented with a faint smile, looking over at Kevin, waiting for his partner to chime in.

"And who…who drives a Ferrari instead of a squad car.", the Irish detective stammered awkwardly, then ran a nervous hand through his hair to make room for Beckett.

"In that case, let's go through all of his info once again, bank records, taxes, even medical records, the works. There's gotta be something somewhere that ties him into this case. Once we find it, we might find out killer and his network."
