I woke up in Adrien's bed, not fully remembering how I got there. I had arrived half-asleep so I just crashed down when I walked in but I was very glad to not see Adrien beside me. That would be a nightmare.
I had the weirdest dream that we kissed. I wasn't completely sure if that was right so I asked him when I woke him up.
"Adrien?" I shook him awake.
"Five more minutes," he grumbled sleepily.
"It's eleven. Get up." I started making him coffee. He heard the machine and got up.
"Fine," he sighed and sat at the island in front of me.
"I had the weirdest dream last night," I laughed. "I dreamed that we kissed."
"We did," he half-smiled, still not fully awake.
"Oh." This was surprising.
"Oh?" He asked, repeating me.
"Oh, like interesting, I- I mean, um," my face continued to get redder the longer I went on.
Adrien leaned over and kissed me quickly.
I looked at him questionably. "What wa sthat?"
"You couldn't stop." He shrugged. "I had to do something. It was getting annoying," he said only half-jokingly. Somehowe he knew exactly how to stop me.
This guy was getting on my last nerves. But not because of that. Because of the fact that I liked it. That I wanted to kiss him. I swore I'd kill him if I fell for him.
I handed him his coffee. "What's on the agenda for today, my lovely 'boyfriend'?"
"Much better," he said after a sip. "Now you have to say that with actual emotion."
I glared at him. "Not possible, hot shot."
"In public you have to act like you like me, you know," he pointed out.
"We're not in public, are we dumbass?" I snapped.
"Yikes! No need for the language, Princess," he chuckled.
I rolled me eyes. "What are we doing today?"
"Photo shoots and mainly just being all lovey-dovey in front of people," he shrugged. He went to his room and came out with a black hoodie with green stiching. "Wear those leggings and this hoodie. The media knows this is one of my favourites and I've worn it a ton. If they see you wearing it they'll know instantly that it's official."
"Uh, thanks?" I didn't know what to say. He nodded and handed it to me. The material was quite soft. I threw it on over my t-shirt and it was really big on me.
"Perfect," he said and took my hand. We walked through the streets of Paris with everyone staring at us. I looked down at the ground. Adrien leaned down and brought my face to look at his with his finger, "Head up, M'Lady. Confidence is key."
He would kill me soon.
A day of romance went by and, finally, we lost the paparazzi. Adrien returned me to my apartment but not before he said, "I wish it were real," then he walked away leaving me as confused as ever.
I wish it were real too, I had wanted to say back. It could be real. If he liked me. I didn't think he did. Everyone else did, but not me.
I sighed and got a shower to clear my mind. When I got out of the shower, I realized the shower hadn't helped. At all. So, I took a nap. Still didn't help. So i watched my favourite movie, Up, and that still didn't help.
Everything reminded me of him. My conditioner smelled like him, my dreams were tainted with him, even the dog in the movie reminded of him with his stupid golden retriever attitude. I couldn't get away from him no matter how hard I tried.
It had to be at least four in the morning when I finally went to sleep. I stayed awake thinking about him too long.
I can't wait for this to be over, I lied to myself. In reality, I wished it were real. I wished he were laying right beside me. But most wishes don't come true even if you wish them on falling stars.
Monday. I walked through the door to Marinette's boutique.
"Marinette?" I called, hoping she'd hear me in the back. When there was no response I went back there myself. "Mari?" I asked, looking around.
The storage area was a big mess and in the center of it all was Marinette. She had piles and boxes of supplies all around her and I saw her face light up when she saw me just before she covered it up.
"I finished your jacket," she said with no emotion. She could act but not to me. "And omg you are socking wet. It must be raining cats and dogs out there," she joked and handed me a towel.
"Cats and ladybugs," I corrected.
"Nope, it's cats and dogs."
"My mom always said cats and ladybugs. I had a weather phobia when I was little and she said that since ladybugs were good luck then everytime it rained cats and ladybugs we'd be okay," I explained.
"Black cats are bad luck," she pointed out.
"Perhaps," I shrugged, "but where's the fun in that?"
"Silly Kitty," she shook her head. "And here," she handed me the jacket.
"But you were with me Saturday night when I dropped it off and all day Sunday," I pointed out now confused. "How did you alreayd finish it?"
She shrugged. "I went to sleep at four, woke up at five, couldn't go back to sleep, came here, and finished the jacket."
"You're tired, aren't you?" I leaned down beside her since she was sitting on the floor.
Her whole body deflated as she sighed, "Yeah, I am."
"Why don't I walk you to your apartment where you can take a nap?" I stuck my hand out for her to take it.
She nodded and took it. "Sounds great."
I helped her to her feet. She had on sandals today so I could see a scar on her foot. "How'd you get the scar?" I asked while we were walking.
She scoffed at me. "Like you don't remember."
"Meaning?" I was now confused.
"First impressions are everything. My first impression of you was definatly not a good one," she pointed out.
I chuckled, remembering, "Yeah because you slapped me."
"That was not the first time we met."
"I'd remember the first time I met you, M'Lady," I said as I put my arm around her. She glared up at me.
"Chaton the first time we met was in my parents' cafe. Remember?"
I shook my head, "Nope. It was definately when you slapped me for no reason."
"No. You came into the cafe, ordered me around, I told you to say please and you refused then you made me drop all my plates on my tray and one of the shards cut my foot. Remember now?"
I was in shock. I stopped her and looked her directly in the eyes. "Marinette Dupain-Cheng, can you really look at me and see that?"
"But-but it was you," she whispered. Clearly that guy had done some damage.
"Come here," I wrapped her in a hug. Then, it clicked. "What month was this?"
"December, right after Christmas."
"Year?"
"Like five-ish years ago." She looked back up at me. "Why?"
"Mari," I chuckled. "That wasn't me. That was my cousin, Felix."
"It was?" She was astonished. Felix had rpoven to have my looks but a completely opposite personality. I took out my phone and showed her a picture of us as kids.
"Marinette, I'm so sorry." I hugged her again.
"No," she shook her head. "I'm sorry. All the fighting was for no reason."
"Does that mean you like me?" I asked, very hopeful.
She nodded and I kissed her under our black umbrella.
"Can we make this real?" I asked when we got to her apartment.
"Yes, Adrien. This is real now." She smiled and I handed her my umbrella.
"For the next time it's raining cats and ladybugs."
"Thank you Kitty."
"You're welcome, Bugaboo." I kissed her on the forehead and left for the night feeling happier then ever.
