Short-ass one-shot inspired by a Tumblr drawing. Extremely short because I am swamped as hell with WIP and just done.

Chris opened the door, smiling at Blue. Confusion flashed onto his face when he saw the kid next to her.

"Hey, Dad," Blue greeted anxiously. "Can we come in? As you can tell, it's kinda urgent."

Chris continued to stare for a few seconds. "Yes." Chris stepped aside to let them in, the boy quick to follow Blue. "Azure, Blue's here with a guest."

Blue went straight for the living room, where her mother sat. Shock flashed on Azure's face at the sight of the toddler.

"Sweetie, the heck is that?" Azure pointed at the kid, who stared as if entranced by her finger. "I hate that I have to ask, but is this... well, did you have a child while you were on your own?"

"No!" Blue exclaimed. "This is Blake, and he's the kid I took from Interpol."

Azure stared at her daughter. "Oh, okay. Now please explain it in a way that doesn't raise more questions."

Blue thought for a moment. "Interpol recently invited me for a job interview as a tech developer. While I was there, I found Blake here by accident. He was an orphan one of the higher-ups had decided to train. Apparently, she got the idea from what happened to Silver and me."

"No," Chris breathed, aghast.

"Are you serious?!" Azure exclaimed. "Somebody in Interpol seriously did that?"

"Nobody else approved, either," Blue revealed. "The other higher-ups shut the project down, and then they asked me to look after Blake for a while. I figured I'd introduce him to you guys."

Chris looked worried. Very worried. "Blue, I... you need to ask someone with childcare experience, pronto." The sentence left a bitter taste in his mouth, while Azure frowned at the unwelcome reminder.

"I know," Blue said. "I'm going to ask Professor Oak tomorrow after Blake's gotten some sleep." She turned to Blake and looked down. "Does that sound good?"

"Yes," Blake answered succinctly.

The next day, Blue had called Oak's laboratory and filled the Professor in.

"That's quite a situation," Samuel commented, unamused. "Well, I would recommend that you just give him something to eat during his stay, and listen to his specific wants and needs. Nothing groundbreaking."

She smiled. "Alright, thanks. Until next time, Professor Oak," she was answered with the same words, then hung up.

Blue looked to Blake, who had found himself a cushy spot on the couch. "Well, what do you wanna eat?"

Blake looked pensive and took a moment to think about the matter. "Food?"

Blue laughed for a bit, earning her the stink-eye from him. "Alright, what kind?"

"The blue kind?" Blake suggested, unsurely.

Blue got an idea. "Nobody's ever asked, have they?" It would make sense, she thought. Why ask a weapon that. Pryce hadn't.

"No," Blake said eventually.

"Get your shoes, we're gonna go to the mall and find something you like," Blue told him firmly.

Looker had dropped by on Sunday to report that a new home had been found for Blake.

"Earl's Pokemon Academy doubles as an orphanage," Looker told the pair. "It has the means to provide good care, plenty of children Blake's age that he can befriend, and it is fairly close if one of you should miss the other. Also, I believe you know more than I do of a volunteer worker there, Miss Blue."

Blue smiled. "That sounds great. What do you think, Blake?"

Blake looked pensive. "Okay."

The trip over there was quick and quiet. They found Crystal soon, and she took them to Earl.

"So this is the Blake boy," Earl said while studying the lad, seeing no nervousness on him. "Welcome to our humble home."

Blake looked curiously at the building, seeing a few faces look back at him. "Thank you."

A short while passed. Blake watched quietly as Blue waved goodbye to him.
