Pairing: One-sided Kabuto x Nanaho.

Summary:

Bitou Kabuto has mastered the way of the ninja, but not the art of talking to girls!

Here's a fact that's not popularly known: Ladybugs are beetles. So when Kamijo Tatsuhisa called their faction the Ladybug Ninjas, he was technically two-thirds correct.

Not a lot of boys his size could leap great heights and distances without making a sound.

Not a lot of boys his age could flip a person over through neck strength alone.

Nanaho-sama loved flipping things, be it the battle position of her Ace Monster to activate its effects, her own demeanour from vulnerable little girl to ruthless chaos spreader, or the occasional bird.

They tell you during training: "Don't get entangled with you leading officer."

Kabuto was a master of disguise and stealth. He slipped effortlessly in and out of costumes and voices, and in and out of Goha City's nooks and crannies, high or low.

All those times you passed Ohdo Yuga, you may have been fooled by Kabuto or his ninja kinspeople.

They got the job done with the utmost efficiency.

He got the job done with the utmost efficiency.

That one rule though…

It was the one rule he failed to pin like a fly to the wall.

"What is this?" Nanaho accepted the device from Kabuto.

"The detonator, Nanaho-sama. We've rigged the card manufacturer to explode, per Yuga-sama's orders."

"I don't recall Yuga-sama mentioning anything about giving the detonator a ladybug motif."

"That was me. I thought –"

"You thought? Nanananananana!" she laughed out loud.

Kabuto straightened, but didn't gulp. He thought she'd appreciate the theming.

"Aww you shouldn't have."

The last firebomb wasn't positioned yet. Nevertheless, Nanaho switched on the bombs, the two of them and their clan inside the blast zone!

"Boom, na."

Kabuto shielded his face on reflex.

The card manufacturer didn't explode. Nanaho had stopped her thumb above the trigger, only creating the illusion she'd depressed it.

"Self-restraint. Work on it, na?"
