My eyes opened slowly; the first thing I saw was the blue sky and green leaves from a big tree dangling over me. I felt the grass and dirt underneath me. I sat up, got on my feet and looked around.
This doesn't make any sense, just a second ago, I was at the Sanctum Sanctorum, which was falling apart, and now I'm in the middle of the woods? Let's just say that calling the situation I was in 'weird' is a major understatement to say the least.
I looked down at my web shooters; I shot web from my right wrist at a nearby tree, then my left. Good, they still work; okay, what now?
Well, standing around doing nothing in the middle of the woods won't do me any good. So, I'll just walk around and see if there's anybody nearby, and if there is. I'll just ask if they know how to get back to New York. It's not the best plan, but it'll have to do for now.
I think I spent around five hours wandering around the woods looking for something other than trees and bushes. So, I decided to take a little break and sat on a log near a river. I looked down at my reflection in the water, trying to piece together the timeline. Okay so, I went to the Sanctum Sanctorum to see Dr. Strange; he cast the spell, but it went wrong. Then I fell into a bright yellow portal (at least I think it was), and now I'm here.
Then my stomach started growling. I hadn't eaten in a few hours, I opened the zipper in my school bag, pushed past my suit and... nothing, no food.
"Okay, that's a bust." I said to myself. I put my bag back on and then looked around. I saw a tree that had apples dangling from its branches. Awesome, I like apples!
I grabbed the lowest branch and took one; but just as I was about to bite into it. I heard ringing and the rhythm of my own heart beats, which got louder and louder. I pulled up the sleeve of my hoodie and my arm hairs were sticking up. The ringing, the heartbeat, and the arm hairs could've only meant one thing.
Someone's here. Someone...dangerous.
I put the apple in my bag, and I zipped it up quickly. I walked around to see if I can find anyone. The ringing and heart beating were getting louder until they were all I could hear. I felt the sudden urge to shoot behind me.
I stopped, quickly turned around, and shot at whatever was making my tingle go off.
Suddenly, the ringing stopped, and I could no longer hear my heart. Looks like I hit whatever I was aiming for.
I carefully and slowly headed for the direction I shot at, I crouched down, and snuck behind a couple of bushes. I looked past them, between two trees was a tall, muscular guy. He looked strange. His black hair was messy and spiky. It's like something straight out of an anime. He also seemed to be a really huge fan of black, because that was pretty much the color of his entire outfit; except his sash which was red and his boots which were white.
The guy closely studied the web that hit his hand which was now stuck to the tree next to him.
"A cobweb?" The man whispered as he looked around. "It must have come from something; a strange type of spider, perhaps?"
My gut instincts told me to run, but my curiosity got the better of me. I decided to stay where I was. I inched closer to the man while trying to be as quiet as I possibly could, and I made sure to stay behind the bushes. Unfortunately for me, I stepped on a branch, and it snapped in half which caught the guy's attention. He turned towards my direction. I crouched down as low as I possibly could. I didn't dare to peek at him again.
"I know you're there, mortal scum."
Shit!
"What a coward you are, disgusting pest!"
I'm busted, he knows I'm here!
"Instead of hiding, why don't you come on out, and show yourself, I'll consider letting you live if you do."
Well, no point in hiding now. I slowly stood up, pushed past the bushes, and walked up to him. He had a very creepy smile. "Ahhhhh...there you are, of course you would hide behind the bushes; very smart of you."
Is that supposed to be a compliment?
His smile disappeared. "Smart, yet cowardly! Only a weak creature like yourself would hide from me!"
Nope, it's an insult. It didn't affect me; I've heard MUCH worse. I put on a confident and dignified demeanor to let this guy know I meant business. "Normally, I wouldn't hide; and if I was as weak as you say I am, I would've run away."
"Is that so?" His really creepy smile returned. He raised his other hand. His palm faced me, and the ringing returned.
I immediately shot my web at it, sticking it onto the other tree. He looked at the web in shock, then back to me.
"This web...it...it came from you?" He asked.
"Yeah, it did, and guess what? You're going to be stuck here for a while, so you might as well answer my questions!"
"Where am I, and who are you?" I asked. He looked surprised then confused. "You...don't know who I am?"
Who the hell does this guy think he is, a celebrity!? "No, I don't KNOW you! I just MET you! How could I POSSIBLY know who you are!" I yelled.
"Well, I make quite the impression on those filthy little mortals, not that I care. They'll all die by my hand anyway."
No, it's worse; he doesn't think he's a celebrity. He thinks he's a freaking GOD! It pisses me off!
"You didn't answer my question, dude!" I said sternly. "Who are you!?"
The man smirked. "Your fellow mortals refer to me as 'Goku Black', your welcome to do the same." Okay, so he's using a made-up name. I might as well use mine.
"What about you mortal? Surely you have a name, correct?"
Okay Peter! USE! FAKE! NAME!
"Me? I'm just...your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man." I can't let him know my real name. He was once again confused, then became very annoyed. "Spider-Man? That's ridiculous, tell me your real name!"
"Sorry, but I can't tell you my real name. Main reason? I don't trust you!" I said with confidence. "You didn't answer my second question, where am I?"
"You are in a future utopia, a soon to be beautiful world where mortals like you are no more." He said in a dignified tone. Holy shit this guy's insane! No wonder my Spidey senses went crazy! If I didn't shoot at him, he probably would've tried to kill me. Even if I ask him if there are any cities nearby, he probably won't tell me. Looks like I'll have to go somewhere else for info.
"Listen, buddy; it was nice talking to you, but I've got to go." I quickly turned around and ran in the opposite direction. "Where do you think you're going!? I'm not done with you!" He yelled.
"Sorry, but you're evil, dude!"
"What!?"
I turned my body while running and I pointed at him. "You're evil!"
"This isn't over mortal! I shall find you, and when I do, I will KILL you!" He growled. "Doubt it!" I clapped back. I was pretty confident I got him good, though I had a feeling I pissed off someone I REALLY shouldn't have.
To be continued...
