Once the four time travelers had reached their destination, they discovered something strange with the area.

"There aren't any creatures around as far as I can see," said Ethan while looking at a vast plain of nothingness.

"Squibbon even refused to get off the ship once we arrived, something must be wrong with this area," said Emily.

"I can't even detect anything underground with the sonar, and this thing is supposed to pick up the smallest of creatures," said Luis, who was wearing a pair of headphones while waving a machine over the ground.

"Hey, it looks like there is a tunnel here," said Emily as she noticed a small opening in the ground which looked like it sloped down before making a sudden drop into darkness.

"Wonder how far down it goes," said Ethan.

"We'll soon find out," said C.G. before sending down a small camera drone. As the drone flew through the tunnel it sent back a 3D layout to the tablet she had been holding.

"Whoa, this thing is huge," said Luis as the scan showed that there were at least twenty branched off paths from the main shaft which went down a hundred meters.

"Wait, a few of these chambers are showing up weirdly," said Ethan while pointing out some branches which were fuzzy in the feed.

"Could it be radiation?" asked a worried Emily.

"The drone can pick up on radiation and would color the zone red for danger," said C.G.

"This is something else entirely," she said.

"I'll go get the rock climbing gear so we can go down and check," said Ethan before running toward the ship.

"An area devoid of any creatures and some kind of scanning interference, just what are we dealing with?" asked Luis.

"I don't know, but if this thing is not dangerous then we may have finally found our spot for humans to start migrating too," said G.G. who was excited while recalling the drone.
