Once C.G., Emily, and Luis were at the first branch that gave them the weird scan, they contacted Ethan who had stayed on the surface to keep an eye out on their ropes and make sure no creatures tried to get them.
"Stay by the entrance and keep an ear out for us, once we give you the signal use the winch to bring us back up," said C.G.
"Roger that," said Ethan.
"Let's stay on guard, for all we know there could be some kind of creature down here we couldn't detect," said Luis who started to lead the way down the tunnel.
"Right," said the girls while following after him. All three were making sure to walk as quietly as possible in order not to disturb anything that may be in the tunnel.
"Whatever the disturbance is, it shouldn't be too far from the entrance of this tunnel seeing how the drone only went down the main shaft to get us a basic scan," said C.G.
"Hey, I see something," said Emily while noticing an orangish light ahead of them.
"Lights off," said Luis in a low voice. The three then turned their head mounted lights off in order to sneak up on the source of the light.
"Whoa," said the three as they entered a small chamber where they found the glow to be coming from a bunch of gemstones growing out of the walls around them.
"These gems are definitely the source of the interference, but why is it happening?" asked C.G. as she tried to get a picture but found it too fuzzy.
"I think they are more than that," said Emily.
"That interference we have been getting is also the reason there aren't any creatures on the surface, they must not like it," she said.
"Of course," said Luis as he took a device out of his bag.
"These gems are giving off a soundwave at a pitch that humans can't hear but the creatures of the time period can, just like a dog whistle back in our time," he said as the screen on the device showed a jagged line.
"If that's the case, then we actually did find a place where humanity can move to," said C.G.
