A/N Some Snarry fluff, that came to mind. Come on over to Tumblr and follow me Slytherinroses

Brushing the tears away from his eyes, Harry hung his robe over the back of the chair and turned to face the large bay window wrapping his arms around himself. He felt foolish and insignificant and definitely should have known better than to think he would have been so readily accepted in a world he had no business trying to be apart of.

In the magical world he was the saviour, the hero, but in the world he'd just escaped from he was nothing, or as someone had so eloquently phrased it, the latest in what was no doubt a long line of toy boys.

The Potion Masters Guild was a centuries old institution and every member well respected. Witches and Wizards came from all over the world to share their knowledge and research.

It was the highlight of the magical social calendar and when Severus had asked him to accompany him, Harry could not have been happier. He had whispered in his ear he wanted to show off his new husband and Harry had smiled, got dressed up on fancy clothes and new robes and stood proudly beside Severus as he was introduced to some of the most renowned Potioneers in the world.

The night seemed to be going smoothly, Harry beamed every time he caught Severus' eye at just how happy the man looked an emotion rarely put on public display. He had stepped out from some fresh air, when he heard two men snickering by a fountain while one of them was smoking.

Harry had been a source of great amusement that evening it seemed, very few failing to understand why Severus would marry someone so beneath him, and they were right, what did Harry know about potions?

He was rubbish at them while he was at Hogwarts and yes he had stumbled when someone had asked him what he thought about the article in the latest potions monthly about Black fire Potion, to which the wizard had replied in obvious distaste that he assumed being married to one of the worlds best and brightest potions master he would have had a working knowledge of potions.

It was then he had made his escape and came home, humiliated and feeling more pathetic and unworthy then ever. The truth was they were right he was beneath Severus, the man was brilliant and should be with someone who shared in that brilliance, not a washed up hero who only lasted 6 months in the Auror program before he realised it wasn't what he wanted to do and was now helping in Mr Ollivanders wand shop while studying wand lore.

'I can hear you thinking from over here' a voice spoke into the darkness of the room

Harry didn't turn around only looked out into the star lit night, his heart thudding painfully in his chest. A pair of arms wrapped themselves around him and his heart clenched a little tighter.

'Are you alright?' Severus asked softly

'Yeah, yeah I'm fine nothing to worry about' he said patting Severus' arms

'Well I am worrying' he said and firmly turned Harry around to face him, with the pad of this thumb he wiped the tears away. 'They had no right to speak about you that way'

'Maybe not, but they were right' Harry said sadly

'No they weren't' Severus said heatedly 'I have just finished telling them exactly that, no one speaks that way about my husband and gets away with it'

'Even if everything they said was true?' Harry asked weakly 'even if they think you married beneath you'

'I don't care what they think, my private life is none of their business and they can go to hell and I didn't marry beneath me, I married the bravest and most beautiful man this magical earth has ever seen and no Potion Masters Guild is worth tolerating their opinions'

'What do you mean?' Harry asked

'I quit' Severus said plainly

'Sev! Why…' Harry was cut off mid protest by a slender finger pressed against his lips

'You are my husband and the love of my life, nothing and I mean nothing compares to that not even a horde of stuffy potioneers who most of them wouldn't know one end of a cauldron from the other. The only opinion that matters is yours'

'Really?' Harry asked

'Really and believe you me they won't be so quick to offer them again'

Harry looked a little more closely at his husband and noticed that the sleeve of his robes was torn, his knuckles were red and bleeding in places 'Sev did you get into a fight?'

'I did' he nodded

'A muggle fight?'

'Yes, I punched the bastard who called you a toy boy in the face, then the bastard who said I married beneath me, I broke his jaw'

Harry smiled wryly 'feel good did it defending my honour?'

'Very' Severus smirked 'among other things, I married you because I love you and can't imagine my life without you in it if people don't like it then the wolds and the Potion Master's Guild can go to hell'

'Thank you' Harry said softly 'I love you Sev'

'I love you' Severus returned 'now come to bed and I'll show you what else punching those idiots on the face did to me'
