It had been like that since she woke up. She had a killing headache and was disoriented, the blindfold and headphone cancelling the noise weren't helping.
Until one day; the tape was taken and she wasn't given anything. Quinn whined in frustration, she couldn't hear herself, but she knew whoever was there could hear her. The expressionless hands that came and went, sometimes once a day, sometimes once a week.
But the hands felt different today, they were soft and gentle. It cupped her cheek, thumbing away the ancient tear stains. Quinn had hardly registered the headphones being taken off.
She cringed her head away, letting a whimper crackle in her dry throat. She froze when she heard it, the sad, weak, pitiful sound. It didn't sound like her, a foreign voice she didn't recognize.
"Honey, It's oka-" Quinn instantly cringed at the noise. It was loud... Too loud. She almost wanted the silence to return, it was safe. Familiar.
She felt the cuffs fall from her wrists and waist, the space touching the cold air for the first time. Arms wrapped around her, lifting her off the floor against a stranger's yet so familiar chest. Quinn's cheek fell right against her shoulder, her arms falling to her sides and eyes squeezing shut. No matter how much she wanted to fight, to weak to do anything.
As if time had jumped, she found herself on the stranger's lap. she were still engulfed in the arms, holding her gently as if she was cracked glass, ready to chatter at any moment. The noise of the wood was deafening as she twisted her head and pushed her ear against the chest. Quinn hoped to muffle the noises, but instead, she found a rapid heartbeat. It seemed even the stranger was stressed.
*Splash!*
"Ahh!-" Quinn screeched, feeling themselves enveloped in warm water.
"Easy! It's okay. You're drifting in and out of consciousness. Just breathe and take it easy." A voice lulled.
Quinn struggled against the arms holding her in the tub, grasping her wrist with both hands in quick-panicked breaths.
The stranger spook again "Quinn calm down". It hit her ears and electrocuted her brain, she knew that voice. She heard that voice, it had pull her too sleep when she was just a child.
Quinn strugges harder until she felt the hands ties her wirst back together, the duct tape founding her mouth again. The hands gave her some time to calm down a little before they start bathing her gently. The voice humming a soft lullaby, Quinn had to admit, her mother always had a nice voice.
