Elena holds Elijah's hand as they stroll through the gardens, everything in full bloom as spring gives way to summer. Elijah guides her to a thick hedge, pushing aside a curtain of ivy to reveal a wrought iron gate.
Elijah opens it and escorts her through – to another garden, overgrown and wild but still beautiful.
It looks like nobody has been there in years.
It's almost like a little world of their own, as Elijah closes the gate behind them.
Elena drops Elijah's hand to approach a large lilac bush, lovely and fragrant. Bees and butterflies flutter around, similarly enjoying the pretty flowers.
"It's beautiful here," she murmurs, turning with a smile to face Elijah.
She freezes when she sees that he's waiting for her on one knee, a ring in his hand.
"Will you marry me, my lovely Elena?" he asks, a hopeful look on his face.
Elena throws her arms around his neck and manages to whisper "yes" against his lips right before she kisses him, smiling and crying at the same time.
When they break their kiss, smiling a little goofily at each other, Elijah slips the ring on her finger.
Elena kisses him again, thinking that this is her new favorite spot.
iTheir/i spot.
