Note: Not only is this perfect for those who love Hallmark, UP TV, or GAC Family movies, this WAS sort of inspired by a recent Hallmark movie titled 'Welcome to Mama's'.

Eric Beale noticed a moving truck was parked at the house next door to him.

'Someone's moving in!' He eagerly thought. He then went next door to greet his new neighbor.

He was looking around, trying to find his new neighbor when he bumped into a small red haired woman.

'Oh! Terribly sorry about that.' Eric sheepishly said. 'I was looking for whoever is moving into this house.'

'Well, you found her! Nell Jones, nice to meet you.' The woman replied, offering to shake his hand.' Your name, sir?'

'Eric. Um, Beale.'

'Well, nice to meet you! Care to let me know hat this neighborhood is like?'

Eric took her by the arm and showed her around.

'The house to the left of me is where my friend Nate lives. He's a shrink, also a fun guy. 2 houses to your right is where Marty Deeks lives, he's very fun. Next to Nate lives G Callen, he's a bit of a loner, but very nice once you get to know him. And across the street in that big house lives the most fascinating woman you will ever meet-'

'You mean my grandma, Miss Henrietta Lange?' Nell butted in.

'Wait, you're her grandchild?! She never mentioned having a grandchild.'

'She tends to keep to herself. I moved here so I could get to know her better. She runs a cozy family resturant called 'Hetty's, and I'm going to work for her.'

'Ooh! Everyone in this neighborhood loves that place. Treats all her customers like family.' Eric replied.

'You're a very eager man.'

'That's what everyone calls me.'

After a while, Eric walked her home.

For the next week, Eric started going to Hetty's more then he usually did, just to see Nell.

In the kitchen

'If I didn't know any better, I'd say Eric's got a crush on our new worker.' Callen remarked.

'Well, my grand daughter is a sweet person, and she and Mr. Beale seem like they'd be a good catch.' Hetty replied.

'Wait, I thought she only came here to get to know you better?'

'She is, I also asked her to come here to work with me because we could use the extra hands.'

Callen chuckled. 'You're playing matchmaker, aren't you?'

'Don't be silly.' Hetty rebuked.

She could try and deny it, but Callen knew she loved to play matchmaker. She tried several times to set him up, but no success. Didn't stop her from trying though.

'Maybe this'll actually work.' He thought, curious as to see what would happen next.

In the next 2 weeks, Eric and Nell spent as much time together as they could. In fact, he spent so much time at the resturant, Hetty gave him a part time job!

'She's playing matchmaker, I know she is.' Callen said when he served Deeks his food.

'You gotta admit, they look pretty cute together. What? You jealous that they look good together and you never fit with any of yours?' Deeks asked.

'Hey, for the record, that last woman dumped me, not the other way around!'

'If you say so. (chuckle).'

Callen didn't want to admit it, but yeah. He was a bit jealous.

A few days later, Eric's house

'I'm telling you, she may be the one! We love video games, she was a nerd in high school like me, and she thinks my jokes are funny! I'm thinking of asking her out on a real date.' Eric happily said.

'I'm real happy for you, man. You sure of this?' Nate asked.

'Never been more sure of anything in my life! Think this is fate?'

'Maybe! (or an old woman deciding to play matchmaker for her granddaughter. He thought.)'

A few days later, Eric and Nell went on their first date. It was silly and a bit embarrassing when they accidentally ordered costly food, but they both enjoyed it.

After 2 more dates, Eric was thinking about proposing.

'Think you're going a bit too fast?' Nate asked.

'I don't think so. I've never been this happy with a woman before in my life!'

'Well, okay. Just be careful.'

2 days later, Hetty got a little worried when Eric didn't show up for work. She called him, and he said he didn't want to come in anymore.

That didn't sit well with her, so she went to see him.

'Look Miss Hetty, I don't want to work there anymore, okay?'

'Does this have to do with Nell?' She asked.

'Huh?'

'Does this have to do with Nell? And remember Mr. Beale, I have a 6th sense to when people are lying.'

Knowing that it was hopeless, Eric said that he saw Nell hugging someone who she looked real friendly with.

'Dear, she was saying good bye to her cousin! What? Did you think that was her ex boyfriend?'

Then Eric felt really stupid.

'Oh man. What do I do?' He asked.

'Go to her! She's right next door. And Mr. Beale, if you want to marry her, it's all right with me.' Hetty replied.

Eric was absolutely stunned when she said that, like. How did she know what he planed on doing?! But, that's Hetty for ya.

So, he grabbed his ring, went next door, knocked on her door, and she answered!

'Eric, what are you doing here?' She asked.

'Nell, I've been a major foo. I quit working at Hetty's because I saw you hugging someone the other night and I jumped to conclusions.' Eric started.

'That was my cousin! We were just saying goodbye. He wasn't my ex, in fact. I don't even think about him much because I'm always thinking about you! I'm crazy about you!'

'I'm crazy about you as well! I haven't been able to stop thinking of you since I met you. You're fun, nerdy, and weird like me! I haven't been this happy with anyone in like ever! What I'm trying to say here is, (getting down on 1 knee), I love you Nell Jones, will you marry me?'

After a half second pause, Nell squealed 'Yes!', and they kissed.

They were married 3 months later. Hetty never admitted that she intentionally wanted Nell to move next door to Eric because she wanted to play matchmaker, but everyone kind of knew she did.

Callen eventually found hos true love, in fact. He met her at the wedding! Hetty didn't invite her, but when she saw them together, well. She found clever ways to keep them together.

And when she was eventually asked why she enjoyed 'meddling', she said this:

'I'm just looking out for my neighbors. They're like this mini family to me, especially they love eating at my resturant. And at Hetty's, we treat customers like family.'
