-Day 63: Takumi Usui (1)-
Misaki sat behind her desk in her office checking the reports some of the departments had sent in. She was pleased with the progress everyone was making in general. Those who really put out the effort and those who did it just because they had to. She was thankful they were doing more than they did when she first arrived She also noted a lot more people were being friendly with her. Mostly women but she was glad to be able to communicate more freely with them. Misaki never wanted anyone to think they couldn't come to her for whatever reason. In order for the embassy to work smoothly, she needed to speak with them about any issues and vice versa. Nothing would work if they didn't feel comfortable coming to her.
She wasn't trying to get everyone to see her reasoning so quickly. Misaki decided to let things play out where she would bond with them naturally. She had been researching activities for the workers to all bond together.
There was a knock at her door and in walked Bridget. "Good afternoon, I've just been informed you have a visitor waiting at the front desk. It's your husband, Takumi Usui."
"Takumi?" Misaki questioned unsure as to why Takumi would be here. Did something bad happen at the Raven castle? Was it Gerald? "Thank you, Bridget. You can go to lunch now and I'll do the same."
"Thank you," Bridget said leaving the office to mingle and eat lunch with others.
Misaki stood up from her chair to head downstairs to meet Takumi. Even though she didn't know the reason for his sudden visit she was still happy to see her husband right now. One day she'll tell him out loud how much she missed him throughout the day but for right now she didn't know if she would survive all the teasing she would receive about it when he knew. This would be her little secret for now.
Reaching the main floor, Misaki saw him sitting in the waiting area. "Good afternoon," She said to a few people who were passing by then called out to Takumi when she got closer. "Takumi!"
"Good afternoon Misa," He greeted smoothly kissing her lips briefly afterward.
Misaki blushed, "Please don't call me Misa, Takumi. It's weird here. Did something happen for you to visit?"
Takumi raised the lunch box he had in his hands so she could see it. "I had some time to spare and thought I would bring you some lunch. Hope you don't mind. I won't take up too much of your time since I do have to go back."
"We could go eat up in my office away from prying eyes," She started noticing the number of people who were slowing down or standing around to talk about Takumi. Her being here was already enough gossip but to have Takumi here in the flesh and blood would be even more chaotic. Taking his hand, she led him up to her office before even more people could gather. Misaki was hoping a lot more people would be out at lunch but unfortunately, they all seemed to have the idea to eat in today. Great!
On her way to the office, she passed Kei who looked bewildered by the sight of Takumi Usui in their building. Had she invited him here to rub it in their faces how important she was or perhaps to let her husband intimidate them?
Misaki opened her door, let Takumi inside then immediately closed the door. Now the office won't be quiet. Sometimes Misaki forgot how well known her husband was becoming. She just saw him as the same Usui from Seika but to others, he was much more. It took a bit of time to get used to it.
"So-Ah!" Misaki shrieked when Takumi sat down and pulled her down with him on his lap. Takumi wrapped his arms around her waist so she wouldn't escape.
"I brought food that wouldn't leave a scent on you. I prepared them after you left for work," He said opening the lunch box. He gave Misaki her pair of chopsticks so she could start eating.
"Thank you for the meal," She responded then started eating his home-cooked food. Takumi always managed to amaze her each day with his cooking. Misaki took a piece of meat to give Takumi to eat but he declined it saying he had eaten already.
Truthfully he came here today to make sure Misaki was eating like she was supposed to and so she would have a familiar face around the office even if it was just for a few minutes. "I have to head back soon but I can come back to pick you up."
"Sounds nice. Maybe we could go get some ice cream too."
"Hmm.." Takumi agreed whilst playing with the ends of her hair as she continued to eat. 'Her hair was getting longer,' he thought twirling a strand around his finger. When Misaki ate a good amount he decided it was time for him to go back to his own work. "Love you misa," He said kissing her lips. "I'll see you when you're finished work."
"Love you. Should I walk you down?" She asked.
"No no. I can down by myself. Goodbye," Takumi replied taking one last look at her before leaving the office. He noticed a few people who might've tried prying on their conversation were still standing outside. Ignoring their stares he continued to leave the office.
When he reached the stairs he came across a man with a name tag which said, Kei Sato. Takumi knew this name because Misaki had told him this person just seemed to have it out for her.
"I saw you glancing at my name. Perhaps your wife has spoken about me," Kei spoke freely. He didn't feel the need to hold his tongue around people like Takumi Usui. "Are you here to intimidate us because she probably ran and cried to you?"
Takumi chuckled at his assumptions. "If my wife were to ever cry to me about you we wouldn't be here talking peacefully. As beautiful as my wife is when she cries it infuriates me. You do not want to get on my bad side when it comes to my wife. Maybe it's time you stop being so judgemental and give her a chance. Believe me, I've watched my wife surprise others in ways you couldn't imagine. I look forward to how my amazing wife will have you eating your words."
