- Day 65: Misaki Usui (3) - Part 1

After a long day filled with work, Misaki decided to take Bridget's advice to take everyone out to dinner after work so they could get to know her better and vice versa. With the many other places Misaki had worked, she knew how much more comfortable employees felt around some of their bosses when drinks were involved and the boss was also letting loose and having fun. Sometimes it would remind employees that the boss was just doing their job in which they are paid to do.

Misaki wanted everyone to feel comfortable coming to talk to her. She enjoyed having a workspace where everyone felt like friends or family. The maid latte was a prime example.

Some of the workers were going to reject the invite, particularly a lot of the men, but once they heard Misaki was going to pay for everything they took the chance to indulge themselves.

"You pervert," Misaki mumbled looking at the text message Takumi had sent her back. She had already notified him this morning she would be returning late, now he was acting like she was going on an overnight trip and was sending her a lot of messages.

Takumi and Gerald should take this time to have some brotherly fun while she was away.

"Are you ready Mrs. Usui?" Bridget questioned entering the office and finding Misaki on her phone. All of the employees were grouped up in the hall ready to drive over to the restaurant Misaki had chosen.

"Huh?" Misaki jumped startled by Bridget's voice. She was too invested in talking to Takumi. "I'm ready. You can call me Misaki outside of the office," she said putting away her phone to ignore Takumi's texts.

"Very well, Misaki."

Bridget secretly humored herself remembering Misaki's husband calling her Misa chan. She wasn't expecting the well-known doctor from the Ranchester family to be so playful.

Misaki would be riding with Bridget because she still wasn't accustomed to driving here yet. She would have a driver pick her up but she wouldn't be surprised if Takumi showed up to pick her up. Sometimes it felt like he was scared she would disappear if he didn't keep talking to her constantly. Takumi needed to go out and expand his social circle so he wasn't always with only her.

Misaki locked her office door and met up with the rest of the employees who were interested in the group dinner. The women were excited to see how Misaki was out of work. They looked up to her after she somehow managed to get the creep in the office fired. It was about time someone took their complaints about harassment at work seriously.

"Mrs. Usui, where will we be going to eat?"

"How much energy do you have? I saw you doing a lot of work today. I would've passed out with those amount of files."

"Your hair is getting longer, I know a great place to get it trimmed."

Misaki felt overwhelmed with the number of women trying to start a conversation with her. This felt oddly familiar to when she was going to school at Seika. "It's a restaurant someone recommended to me, that's the normal workload for me, and I like to trim my hair myself."

'It saves money,' Misaki thought to herself. Just because her finances were better now did not mean she should waste her money. Misaki learned how to trim her hair in college thanks to youtube videos and Aoi's help whenever she saw him.

Kei silently watched from the sidelines as Misaki had become miss popular amongst the woman. He wouldn't admit it to anyone but he saw how her plans were working off around the office's but Kei still hadn't warmed up to her like everyone else. Maybe tonight would change his mind a bit more when everyone will be relaxed and having fun.

A/N: I will continue updating Our lives and Innocent Romance. I don't have a specific day for when I'll post both, I'm doing it based on whatever free time I have. This is day 65 part 1. Had to split the chapter in two just to be able to post today.
