The New Melody Of The Heart
Chapter One
After another Akuma fight and Ladybug and Cat Noir winning, Luka was pretty convinced. In fact he had known for a while that Ladybug and Cat Noir were madly in love, even if they hadn't a clue it was mutual. For a while now since wishmaker, he even knew Ladybug was Marinette and Cat Noir was Adrien. Man what a pair. He thought to himself. Sure he was sad about the breakup with Marinette, and he still cared for her, but now he had every reason he needed to find a new interest. Or a new "melody".
He sighed, and picked up his guitar. He strummed the strings and let a tune come out of him onto his guitar. This time instead of composing someone else's melody, he played his own. It was serene as usual. He wanted them to be happy together and so he decided he would support them anyway he could. Maybe one day, he figured, they would reveal themselves to each other.
Luka got so into his music, he hadn't even noticed when Cat Noir of all people walked up to his boat of a house. "That's amazing!" Cat commented softly enough not to startle Luka. Luka's eyes widened, "Is there another akuma? Do you and Ladybug need Viperion?" "Oh no no everything is fine! I was just taking a stroll and heard you playing. Your music sounded so nice and I wanted to let you know." Cat assured him. Luka relaxed and smiled, "Oh good." He sighed relieved.
Then Luka took a good look at Cat Noir. Cat Noirs' usually confident stance and posture wilted a little bit, his smile was fake and a bit stressed, and his suit betrayed him as his ears and tail gave his current emotional state away. Luka's hands started to strum the strings of his guitar again, and Cat Noir could feel how the tune seemed to harmonize with the way he felt. "How do you do that?" Cat asked. Luka shrugged, "I guess I'm really musical oriented..and I've always been very empathetic. I can feel when someone's tune is off. What's got you low?" Luka asked as he patted the space next to him. Cat Noir took the invite and sat down grateful for the time to rest.
"I love Ladybug..and I know she loves someone else. It's nothing new for me. For a while I just figured if I kept trying she would eventually fall for me, but she hasn't. She seems so sure of her feelings for this other boy, and I thought that was how it was for my feelings for her. Thing is now there is another girl I'm starting to notice, and she makes me feel the same way I feel for Ladybug. I'm confused, how can I be in love with two girls?" Cat Noir put his face in his hands.
"Marinette, right?" Luka asked, pretty sure he knew already. Cat looked at him surprised, "How did you.." Luka shrugged a second time, "I have a strong sense of empathy, remember?" "I know the feeling of loving someone who won't return your feelings. Marinette cared for me, but she wasn't in love with me like she was with the other guy. We mostly broke up because she had secrets that she said she couldn't tell me."
I know why now. Luka thought. Then continued."It hurt because I wanted her to be able to open up to me, but I knew her feelings for the other boy were also somehow part of it too. As for the feelings for two people, I'm sure things will make more sense someday." Luka finished.
Cat knew how it felt to have someone you care about keep things from you all too well. He only just started to get over how Ladybug had seemed to trust others over him despite their strong partnership. Still stung a little even if things seemed to have been set right. Something about the last thing Luka said, however, left Cat to wonder if Luka knew something he didn't. Though he figured he wouldn't press for now, Luka was a nice guy and was kind enough to listen to whatever Cat Noir needed to say.
Cat Noir was surprised though, he thought for sure Marinette just liked Luka. Now he learned there was someone else Marinette liked. He felt guilty that their breakup had somehow made him relieved. He felt bad that he didn't feel sorry enough, but he knew why that was now. He knew he liked Marinette, and it was so obvious now that he was finally willing to admit it to himself. Maybe he always did, but then again how did he fall in love with Ladybug if he loved Marinette?
Luka was able to get a sense of what Cat Noir may have been thinking, as the hero was very self revealing in his facial expressions. "Wouldn't it be cool if Marinette and Ladybug were the same." Luka commented, and said no more. Cat's eyes went big, then he settled down realizing it was just an idea and it didn't have to be true. "Yeah, I wish I was that lucky." Cat sighed as his ring started to beep.
The other thing Cat was a bit upset about was that his father kept setting him up on photoshoots with the one person he couldn't stand right next to Shadowmoth. The annoying Lila who couldn't keep her hands off of him, and lied as if she'd die if she didn't make a fib every breath she breathed. Cat Noir couldn't help but cataclysm a magazine he found in the streets with a photo of him and lila. It was trash and a reminder of his Fathers constricting control over him. He was glad to get rid of it, but now he regretted it as he had no choice but to leave Luka and hide as he could no longer stay transformed for long.
"Oh see ya! Gotta go!" Cat took his baton and vaulted away with it. "Bye." Luka waved hoping he heard. Well, hopefully I was able to help Cat Noir-well Adrien in a way. He thought, and then went back to playing his guitar. Juleka just walked over the moment Cat Noir zoomed away. "What was all of that?" Luka gave his sister a smile and a short explanation, "He liked my music."
Juleka nodded, she had to admit the musical talent was strong in her family and Luka shared it with others confidently. "Wanna practice for Kitty Section?" Juleka asked. Then joined Luka when he said "sure". They practiced their parts for a while before calling it a day. The sun set and Luka decided he would do what he could for Marinette and Adrien to be together like they should and deserved to be.
