Chapter Two

"You know I love unicorns!" Rose sang in her uncharacteristic voice in the Kitty Section band. At the end of their rehearsal all the friends decided to relax and have some lemonade. To Luka's surprise Adrien was actually able to come despite his father's tight schedule for him. To even more of Luka's surprise, Marinette had invited Kagami. Even Kagami somehow, and who knows how, managed to come despite her cold mother.

As far as Luka could tell from the time at the ice rink, Kagami shared a similar parental situation as Adrien and he hardly recalled her smile. Maybe once or twice a sincere smile, but never as wide and joyous as she seemed now. Marinette and all the other girls seemed to really like Kagami, and they all gave her a big group hug. She looked shocked and uncomfortable at first, but then that huge happy smile broke out of her face.

Luka's fingers naturally went strumming notes again. A tune he had never felt or played before came out. Everyone went quiet to listen, and he and Kagami held eye contact. The way the music had matched the way Kagami felt took her by surprise, and Marinette told her about his ability to play someone's song. Kagami was amazed, she never imagined someone could play something that seemed to reach and hug her heart.

Before Kagami knew, a pink tint crept onto her face. The music seemed to slightly change in pace, and took on an even lighter and fluttery tune. It seemed to mirror the feeling she had in her chest. There was something about this song and melody that gave Luka deja vu. His song made him feel similar to the way he did when he fell for Marinette. He couldn't be catching feelings for Kagami, could he? The idea made his fingers stiffen and he had to come to a stop when the mistake made it too hard to continue. He winced at how unsatisfactory the ending sounded.

"That was amazing." was all Kagami could say. Luka gave a smile, "Thank you, hope the ending didn't bother you too much." "It's fine, I don't think I could play an instrument like that." Kagami assured him. Luka disagreed, he was sure with practice that anyone could play an instrument well. "I can teach you to play any string instrument you'd like. I'm actually planning on starting a business in making instruments, and I am quite familiar with a lot of them." Luka offered.

"Well if I can find some time in my schedule, I'd love that." She replied, her heart swelling with joy of being with all these new friends, his offer, and a bit from the way he made her feel too. She was glad Marinette convinced her to come, she hadn't felt this kind of acceptance in a long time. She needed this, it was no wonder Adrien was so fond of his classmates.

Adrien saw Marinette wave. He blushed and walked over, "Hey Marinette! Having a good time?" Marinette replied in her pink face, but surprisingly with less of her normal stuttering. "Y-yeah it was great! You played really well on the keyboard." Adrien felt warm from the compliment and had to resist the urge to hug her at random. Sheesh, when he admitted to liking Marinette too, he didn't expect it to have this much of an effect on him. She made him feel the same way Ladybug did now. Alya couldn't help but catch on to the different way Adrien seemed to be acting around Marinette, and was convinced he may have become less blind somehow.

Meanwhile Alya had also caught on to a change in Marinette. She still believed Marinette loved Adrien stil, but for some reason she seemed to pay more attention to Cat Noir lately. Marinette had become more comfortable around Adrien, and seemed to blush every time she fought alongside Cat Noir or the Cat was mentioned. Perks of finally knowing her best friend was Ladybug all along, she got to tease Marinette about Cat Noir's relentless confessions and flirts. Just now it seemed Alya's suspicions of Marinette having feelings for Cat Noir seemed more likely.

Marinette didn't know what it was. Maybe meeting Cat Walker made her reevaluate what Cat Noir meant to her. Or maybe it was because she saw him less lately and missed him. Or maybe she always had feelings for Cat Noir and pushed him away because she was so convinced Adrien was the only one who she could be in love with. She started to feel that all of them applied, even surprising to herself the latter. She'd normally say he was just her partner, but now she couldn't even think that anymore without questioning how true it was.

"Marinette? Marinette!" Alya tapped Marinette on the shoulder and Adrien looked concerned. Marinette was so busy trying to figure out her newfound feelings for Cat Noir and her remaining ones for Adrien that she had completely zoned out. "Wha-" Marinette mumbled. "Girl you've been staring out into space! Nino and I were just inviting you and Adrien to go get ice cream with us, and you hadn't heard a word I said, did you?" Alya sighed and pinched the space inbetween her brows, almost in an attempt to subtly rub the sinus headache that was building up.

"Oh! Yeah I'll come! How about you Adrien?" Marinette replied, back in reality. Adrien rubbed the back of his neck embarrassed that Marinette almost caught him staring at her. "Well let me text Natalie first and see if my Father will let me." He answered and quickly typed up his messages to Natalie. To Adriens surprise she said his Father would let him go, as long as he was back for his photoshoot. "Wow! I can go! Though I do have to get back before my photoshoot. I have about an hour." Adrien jumped with excitement, and Marinette smiled fondly.

They managed to run into Andre the Ice Cream Man on their way to the creamery and decided to take his ice cream instead. Adrien and Marinette awkwardly told him they weren't a couple despite Andre being fully convinced and coy that they did in fact love each other. Alya snickered a little. This was the first time Marinette and Adrien were actually there at the same time for their ice cream.

Marinette looked at the ice cream in her hands, there was blackberry, mint, and vanilla. The colors reminded her of Cat Noir and his green eyes, blonde hair, and black cat suit. Adrien's cone of ice cream seemed to coincidentally have the same color scheme of Ladybug. Or you could say Marinette if you looked at her red hair ties. They seemed to overlook this in the past few times they had Adre's ice cream. Now they seemed to pay some more curious attention to it.
