Jazmine walked in the library during her usual time, she always came in the middle of the school day to talk to Huey.

"Hi Huey, who are these people, are they like your nerd friends?" Jazmine asked, looking at them. "They are my friends, we're working on a project though." Huey said, Looking up.

Caesar and Hiro looked at Jazmine with their Jaws open, shocked, Huey wasn't lying! Jazmine waved at the two of them and they scooted over. "That's so sweet of you guys but I'm not sitting right here." She said as she sat by Huey on the opposite side of the table.

"Hello, what are you up to?" Jazmine asked, smiling.

"Working, busy right now. You can be all sunshine and rainbows on me a little later." Huey said. "Oh ok," Jazmine said sadly, "See you." She waved depressingly. Caesar waited for Jazmine to walk off and he talked.

"Are you dating her?" He asked,

Huey smacked his teeth, "No, not really, I don't understand her though. She treats me as if I'm her boyfriend but Cario told me she's just friendly. Hiro shook his head, "Friendly she is but not that friendly, I don't see her all up on guys like she was with you. I'm telling you, she's into you dude."

Huey shook his head, "I don't know man, we need to get this work done though. Ain't no way she's fucking with me, I'm Huey freeman."

"Man, there you go. Imma tell you this, you're not ugly.. No Homo," Caesar said, stopping to make sure that was clear. "I'm just guessing people don't share the same views as you. Huey, you used to have all the girls on your but you went to talk about all this stuff about black people and society and all that shit. Listen, I agree with your message and all but when you constantly talk about that and stuff it just throws people off and makes them tired of you, I even overheard some girls in the hallway talking about you too."

"I don't care what people think of me, I'm fine without a relationship. People see the real me and just don't like my personality. I accept that, one day I'll find someone who can appreciate that." Huey said. "Jazmine." Caesar said. "Deny it all you want, she digs you."

"Let's get back to work, we are so off track." Huey said, ignoring him.

There is a lot of stuff Jazmine doesn't know about him yet, if that is true, there is a lot she should know about him and get to know him about. Huey already knew a lot about Jazmine already.

She likes to Laugh, and smile.

She likes sweet stuff.

She likes fruit.

She likes to dance

He probably had a few more but that's it, Huey didn't exactly know how to feel about Jazmine yet. He went out with her yesterday and she was so nice to him. She doesn't even know his secret yet. Maybe he should wait, they aren't that serious anyway.

Jazmine came back an hour later with a deck of cards.

"I still don't understand how you are able to get out of class, don't you have work?" Huey asked. Jazmine shook her head, "Do you wanna play?" She asked, shuffling the cards. "I usually would, but I don't feel like playing now."

"Okay," Jazmine said, then she just sat there bored. Jazmine started at Huey while he was reading. Huey could feel her starting but he didn't say anything.

"So, how are your parents?" Jazmine asked. Huey looked up at her putting his books down, Jazmine just smiled.

"I don't have parents." Huey said

Jazmine played with her fingers and apologized, everything had gotten quiet, she was embarrassed. "I'm sorry," Jazmine said sadly.

Huey cleared his throat, "It's fine, don't worry. I live with my grandpa and brother, though."

"Can I meet them?" Jazmine asked, cupping her hands.

Huey pinched the bridge of his nose, "Meet my grandad and my brother?" Huey asked, sighing. "Yeah, I want to." Jazmine bobbed her head repeatedly, which made Huey annoyed. "Okay!" Huey said, "You can meet him." Huey didn't understand, why did she want to meet his grandad? That's something a girlfriend would ask.

"Tell me about your grandad." Jazmine said. Huey shrugged, "I dunno, he sure loves to cook. He is so crazy, and for some reason I feel like he would love you."

"What makes you say that?" Jazmine asked. "My brother brought a girl home before and he was just so nice to her. He treated her better than he treats us, it's like we never even knew him."

"My parents are barely even home," Jazmine said sadly. Huey didn't know what to say, she looked as if she was about to cry. "They just work a lot?" Huey asked. Jazmine shook her head, "Yeah, I have no one. Your lucky you have a brother, I really want a baby sister."

"Do you eat?" Huey asked stupidly,. "Of course I eat! Well, it's Pizza or either Chinese food. My parents give me money to order it, I haven't had a home cooked meal in a while. I'm tired of eating the same thing, and the sad thing is I'm just in a big house by myself." Maybe that's why she asked about his parents. Huey didn't have his mom and dad but at least he had someone who was there. He felt bad for Jazmine, she has both of her parents though, Huey would die to have both of his parents. He was just as lonely as her, he stays trapped in his room practically everyday.

"My grandad cooks a lot, I'm sure he would be happy to feed you." Huey told her. "You're so sweet!" Jazmine hugged him tightly, rubbing her cheeks against his. Huey rubbed her shoulder, comforting her. He then felt the water fall down in his cheeks.

He pulled her apart and looked at her, she was crying. Damn, now he had to say something. It's not like he didn't want to, but he has his own problems, and he never had a girl cry on him before. "Are you okay?" Huey asked her, wiping her tears.

Jazmine nodded, "Yeah, I'm okay now I think. I got your glasses wet though!" Jazmine pulled her shirt towards his glasses and wiped them off.

"Jazmine!" Huey said pulling her back, maybe that wasn't such a good idea he could see her bra under her shirt as she wiped them off. "You got new glasses, cool!" Jazmine said. Her phone began to chime, meaning whatever place she had to go she needed to go now. "I will see you later, byes!" Jazmine said, as her voice began to fade.

Huey didn't understand that girl, she was quite interesting to say the least.

Huey made sure to run home as fast as he could, he had to make sure his house was presentable.

"Why are you running?" Hiro asked, trying to keep up with him. "Jazmines coming over, need to clean up asap!" Huey said. That right there was Riley's cue to catch up too. "You said what?" Riley asked. "I don't feel like talking, the whole time I'm trying to get home."

"So you're not gonna answer my question?" Riley asked. "I did, you heard me." Huey said.

"Oh, so now you wanna come out of your room?" Riley said, crossing his arms, "You dating the hoe now?"

"No Riley, she doesn't eat at home." Huey said sympathetically. Riley started laughing and crackling and slapping his knees, "Are you kidding?"

"That's not funny, I'm so serious. I felt bad."

"Huey stop playing with people like that." Riley said Seriously. "I'm being for real!" Huey said as he gave up. "Where do you come up with this stuff?" Riley asked, walking into the house.

"Grandad, I'm bringing a girl over." Huey told his grandfather. He put his newspaper down, "About time!" He said crackling. "I'm a serious grandad, she lives across the street. She's lonely." Huey said.

"Are you talking about that family with the black man and white woman?" He asked. "Yes." Huey said. "They are never home, cars almost never in the driveway." He said. "I'm telling you grandad, she was so sad! I'm sure she would love to meet you, she asked me if I had parents!" Grandad said. "Since when did you care about other people's feelings, is that your girl or something?"

"No!" Huey said, looking away.

"Well, I will get the food ready or whatever."

Huey ran upstairs and organized his room, what if she came in here? He doubted it, but you never know, all his books were tilted and his bed wasn't made. At least it wasn't as bad as Riley's. He wondered what Jazmine was doing now. He looked up at the wall and just started at it for a while. "Maybe I should check up on her." He said. He got up and put his coat on.

He opened the front door and left to walk over to her house. She was outside on her porch. "It's cold outside where is your coat?" Huey asked half jokingly. Jazmine looked up, she looked a bit sad, her hands were on her cheeks with her elbows on her lap. "I'm locked out. I tried to call my parents, but they aren't answering."

"Come to my house, it's too cold and you will get sick." Jazmine smiled, she liked the niceness she was being given, she got up and compiled, they walked back across the street to his house.

Huey opened the door to his house, which smelt like…meat? Whatever his grandad was cooking it smelt nice. "It smells good." Jazmine said.

"Huey! Get yo ass down here, I need your hel-

Jazmine waved at him, giving a warm smile.

"Well, hey cutie, is this the girl Huey was telling me about?" He switched his tone up quickly to sound welcoming to the girl. He tended to treat women with respect (well more of Huey and Riley's friends) because it was mannerfu; and respectful be doesn't really follow the same rule when it comes to boys Riley has come over to play video games with or male friends in general.

Jazmine turned to look at Huey, he looked the other way. "My name is Jazmine." She said proudly.

"The food is almost done, can I get you something? We have hot chocolate and you look like you're freezing, come on inside! It's cold!" He noticed Jazmine shivering and the goosebumps on her skin.

"That would be nice, thank you Mister." Jazmine said. "Well, you have manners too. You can call me Robert baby." He said as he walked off to the kitchen to prepare the drink.

Riley came down to the living room with a suit on, "Hey guys." He said trying to act cool, he put his hand against the wall posing.

Huey put his hand on his face, "Riley, why do you have a suit on?" Jazmine giggled, and brushed it off. "Can I see your room?" She asked. "Sure, let's get out of here before he starts dancing."

They walked to Hueys room in silence, he opened the door to it and they were met with the smell of fresh cut grass? It smelt good nevertheless.

"It's so clean, I like it." Was all she could say, she sat down on his bed, Huey closed the door.

"Why did you shut the door?" She asked. "Oh, I can open it!" Huey reassured her. "No, it's okay." She said, "Just curious."

Huey looked around the room and it was awkwardly quiet, Jazmine was just playing with her fingers looking around the room. Huey scooted further down, so she wasn't uncomfortable. "Did I do something?" Jazmine asked.

"No, What makes you ask that? Huey said. "You're so far away." She said, Huey scooted closer but it was awkward. "Just had to make sure you were comfortable, that's all." "What do you like, besides books?" Jazmine asked curiously trying to start a convo. "Well, I have a blog where I focus on the rights of black people and I talk about the many issues in our community."

"So your Black Lives Matter?" She asked. "I guess, if you wanna say that. I support the black community and I support my people, but the whole BLM is a scam and is just something white people are scamming us off of."

"Is that candy?" Jazmine asked, getting distracted looking at his desk. Huey looked the same direction she was looking in to see what she was talking about. "Not really, it's stuff I eat pre workout."

"You were serious about working out?" Jazmine asked."Yes, I wasn't lying." Huey said. He hates that people don't take him seriously. "Can I see?" Jazmine asked. "See what?" Huey responded. "You said you workout, I want to see your abs!" Jazmine said, "Men with abs are hot."

Huey sighed, if that was the case, then I guess he had to do it. He took his coat off then lifted his shirt up to show herJazmine smiled, "Omg! You weren't lying, you have like a six pack. I only ever met boys my age with like 4." Jazmine said as she counted. "Yeah you have six. That's cool."

Huey put his shirt down, he didn't know how she couldn't tell, especially with the types of shirts he wears sometimes, but then again nobody pays attention to him. "Can I tell you something?" He asked. Jazmine nodded her head, "Go ahead."

"You see, my glasses, I don't really need them." Huey told gasped dramatically and put her hands on her mouth, "So you lied to me?" Jazmine asked disappointedly. "They are reading glasses, I just wear them normally so people leave me alone." Huey said.

"So all that faking like you were blind was an act?" She asked.

Huey nodded, Jazmine slapped his arm. "Why would you do that!" She said to him,

"Because I was so focused on girls at one point of my life that it was running me. I was so smart and I was getting such good grades, but when I entered high school that changed, I didn't make the wisest decisions. I think it was hormones getting to me, I started wearing glasses and acting like the old me so it would turn girls off."

"Well. It didn't turn me off! I love your personality." She smiled. "Maybe I should start wearing them off again." He said. "No!" Jazmine said, "Keep them on okay!" Huey chuckled, "Okay, just promise you won't go telling all your little friends about this." Jazmine pulled her pinky out to pinky promise. "Seriously?" Huey said, not wanting to do that.

"You have to do it Huey!" Jazmine said, putting her pinky in his face.

"Fine I'll do it! Get your finger out my damn face!" Huey said as he hooked his pinky to hers. "Now we have a promise!" Jazmine said, then she gave Huey a kiss on the cheek. "Jazmine, are you sure kissing doesn't mean a thing to you?" Huey asked. Jazmine shrugged, "I don't know." She said slumping down. "I said kisses on the CHEEK dont."

"But you're red." Huey said. "No I'm not, it's just very hot in here." Jazmine said looking to the side

"Jazmine, I have a fan in my room blowing right in our faces." Huey told her. "Can we just change the subject?" Jazmine asked.

"I guess, but I don't know what you want me to change it to." "Can I do your hair!" She asked as she put her fingers through it.

"I rather you not." Huey said as he took her hands out, he didn't like people touching his hair.

"Pleasee!" She begged, "It really needs oil, it looks dry, it will break off and you have so much hair it would be a shame, and I know you spent years growing it out."

She was right, he did spent years and avoided getting his hair cut plenty of times. He didn't understand why his grandad wanted it cut so bad, it saves him money and he's always trying to save it. Huey was gonna change his mind and tell her yes but someone knocked on the door. "I'll get it!" Jazmine said.

Jazmine opened the door and was met with Hueys grandfather. "Here you go, I put creamer and everything in here for you!" Jazmine took the drink out of his hands and thanked him, "Thanks, I appreciate it Mr freeman."

Jazmine placed the cup down on his dresser, and sat back down on the bed with him. ''You know you can take your shoes off right?" Huey asked, looking at her crocs. "Oh," She said as she took them off, "But I'm more concerned about your hair."

Huey sighed, "Fine, since you begged me to, I will let you, but if I wake up the next day bald I swear."

"I don't know if that's a threat or not, but whatever. Where are your hair products?"

Huey pointed to the bathroom across from his bed. "You know how many people have asked to do my hair?"

Jazmine shrugged, "I don't know probably a lot"

Huey shook his head, "Nope, my grandad wants me to cut it off, I might get a twist or braids or something but I most definitely need a haircut." He said, he pushed his hair back to reveal his hairline.

"I know how to do that!" Jazmine clapped her hands together.

"Really?" Huey asked sarcastically, but he actually did wonder where she learned how to do that.

"I learned from doing my barbies hair, I have a big doll collection of mostly rare editions , when I have kids I will pass them onto my daughter most def. You should come over sometime."

"Cool," Huey said, "Just dont use all of my products."

"Were you even listening?" Jazmine asked Huey, frustrated. "Of course, you said something about your barbie collection."

Jazmine smiled, "Usually people don't listen to me, I tend to go on and on and they just get annoyed."

"I guess you just love to talk, nothing wrong with that." Huey. "Do you want the tingle one?" Jazmine asked him to hold up the oil bottles. "I don't care, let's just get this over with."

"Okay!" Jazmine said as she sat on his lap, facing him. "Woah!" Huey said shocked, "Jazmine what are you doing?"

"Your hair, of course silly. What's wrong?" Jazmine asked. "You're on my lap, that's what's wrong." Huey said.

"You want me to get off? I didn't think it was an issue."

"No- It's just, I dont get how you're just so comfortable doing that. Like seriously, you do stuff like this and act like it's the most normal thing in the world."

"I mean it's not like you're gonna assault me or anything, I trust you so it's fine."

"Jazmine, why on earth would you say that?"

"It's true, unless you would do that!" Jazmine said.

"I didn't say that!" Huey said.

"Ok so shut up." Jazmine said.

Huey got quiet, and Jazmine grabbed his head.

"Your hair is really coarse." Jazmine said.

"Yeah," Huey replied, but he couldn't concentrate because Jazmines breasts were literally in his face while she was parting his hair "Want me to braid it, I'm sure it would look really nice." Jazmine offered.

"I will let you braid my hair once I go to the barbers."

"Well, when is that?" Jazmine asked him.

"I'm not sure my grandad has been saying he'll take me but he hasn't. Can you pass me my phone?" Huey said changing the subject.

Jazmine grabbed his phone from across the bed and handed it to him, Huey was trying to get on his phone but her breasts were legit in his face. Huey just threw his phone back on the bed and gave up.

The oil on his hair felt good though, but the comb didn't, but that's what he gets for not combing his hair. It was so matted.

"Huey, sit still!" Jazmine said.

"I'm sorry your just-

Okay now Huey couldn't concentrate! Jazmine was making it so hard to, he was trying to remain respectful but she just kept moving, which meant her breasts were bouncing, then she kept moving while she was on his lap! She was getting too "comfortable" not to mention her thighs were trapping him.

"Would you rather I blow dry it?" Jazmine asked.

Huey nodded, "It's in the bathroom." He figured that would keep her busy. "Okay, I will be right back, don't you do ANYTHING."

Huey picked his phone back up and opened a few messages, of course it was from Ceaser & Hiro. He had some plans with them but of course he had to bail. Huey would have to deal with them later, Jazmine was approaching.

"Okay I'm back!" Jazmine said.

"Don't you think you should have put the oil in after?" Huey asked her.

"Where is the plug thingy?" Jazmine asked.

"It's battery powered." Huey responded.

Jazmine sat back on his lap and turned the blow dryer on.

"You know Jazmine if we are being honest, I think the only reason why you're sitting on my lap is because you like it."

"Can't hear you!" Jazmine said over the sound blow dryer.

Jazmine started to comb out his hair a bit to stretch it out, "Maybe we should just wash it." She suggested.

"No, I am not doing that." Huey said.

"What's the issue? It probably needs a good wash."

"I will do that on my own when I feel like it," Huey said. "And you should hurry up, dinner is soon, if it wasn't for me you probably wouldn't even have dinner."

"Im done, don't worry, imma put the oil in next and section it and stuff."

Since they were talking about hair Huey wanted to say something about hers, "Is your hair color real?" Huey doubted it wasn't, her roots were not black or anything.

"Yeah it is, my mom has a lot of Scottish and Irish ancestry, probably where I get my hair color from. Why?"

''Oh, no reason it's a very pretty color." Huey told her.

"You know Huey, you are very nice to me, I don't see you treat your other friends like this."

"You're a girl, not that it means anything. I just don't like to talk or play with girls the way I do with boys."

"Oh, that's nice. Well, when do you want to go out again?" Jazmine asked as she drizzled oil in his scalp. "W-well whenever you want to." Huey asked, stunned and surprised by that question.

"Cool, we go tomorrow then."

"Tomorrow?" Huey asked.

"Is that a problem?" Jazmine asked, "You told me whenever, and you know I can be a busy woman and ask someone else." Huey sighed, he was gonna go out with his friends tomorrow to make up for today, they had to wait now.

"No, we good tomorrow it is." Huey said.

The door was barged open, no knock or anything, Riley came in yelling, which scared Jazmine.

"Riley! How many times have I told you to knock?" Huey yelled.

Man, what freaky stuff you two got going on?"

"Jazmine is doing my hair, get out."

"Nah, Jazmine gotta go, see her parents here. Her mama was cryin and everything that shit was so funny!"

"Really?" Jazmine asked getting up as fast as she could, speeding to their living room.

"She got a fat ass, you lucky as hell Huey how you pull her?" Riley asked.

"Hey parents!" Jazmine said, smiling hard and waving.

"Jazmine, we were worried sick!" Her mom said.

"Yeah, why didn't you call?" asked her dad.

"I tried to, you guys left me in the cold! So I came here and studied with Huey, and Mr Freeman was so nice to me!" Jazmine explained.

"Okay, That's good to know, next time shoot us a text? We are sorry about today Robert, we didn't know it was so late."

"Its late?" Jazmine thought, she looked at her watch to check the time.

Huey came down to the living room with his hair a mess, but he still was able to wave Jazmine bye.

"Boy what the hell happened to your hair?" Robert asked.
