"So Latias?" Pyrrha asks. "Do you want to introduce me to your friends?"
Latias smiles brightly as she swiftly nods. She pulls out her notebook before running behind Ruby and holding up the notebook with "Ruby Rose" written on it. She then did the same to Yang.
"Hi." Ruby says shyly as she almost hides behind Yang.
"What's up." Yang smirks with her hands on her hips.
Pyrrha giggles. "It's a pleasure to meet you both." Pyrrha says. "Especially you Ruby." Pyrrha adds pointing to the girl in red. "Latias messages me about you all the time. It's always been good to know she had a good friend when she went back to Vale."
"Went back to Vale?" Ruby asks in curiosity as to Pyrrha's meaning.
"Yes, well Latias and her father came over to Mistral every year to set up a noodle stand for the regional tournaments." Pyrrha explains. "It's where I met her, and my boyfriend."
"Ohhhhhh." Ruby nods in understanding.
"Scored a boyfriend already?" Yang asks with a sly smile.
"Oh, um... yes, his name is Jaune." Pyrrha stutters.
Elsewhere a young woman with long black hair and a black bow on her head wanders the courtyard whilst reading a book. She gave a glance to her right to see a white haired girl berating a butler. "So a Schnee's here." The girl with a book mutters. This black haired girls name is Blake Belladonna. Blake had come to Beacon in order to escape the unnecessary violence she had once became apart of to rather use her skills to dedicate her life to becoming a Huntress. Blake sighs, closing her book. She then began walking to the auditorium.
Latias and her friends find themselves sticking together as they enter the auditorium. Along the way Pyrrha and Ruby had seemed to get along well much to Latias' relief.
"Wait hold on," Yang says as they walk through the crowded room. "You won four years in a row?"
Ruby gasps. "That's a new record! Oh, and I totally missed it!" Ruby complains. "I stop watching for a little while and the biggest event in Regional Tournament history happens."
"It's fine." Pyrrha says awkwardly.
Latias then holds up her notebook for everyone to read. "She hates her fame." It read.
Yang smiles while Ruby stutters a quick apology. Before they could speak any further everyone hears the sound of Ozpin tapping on a microphone to gain everyone's attention. "I'll, keep this brief." He says. "You have traveled here today in search of knowledge, to hone your craft and acquire new skills, and when you have finished, you plan to dedicate your life to the protection of the people." There were murmurs of agreement in the crowd. "But I look amongst you, and all I see is wasted energy, in need of purpose, direction." Latias, Pyrrha, Ruby, and Yang frowned at that as more murmurs, this time of confusion rang out. "You assume knowledge will free you of this, but your time at this school will prove that knowledge can only carry you so far. It is up to you to take the first step." With that Ozpin begins walking off stage as Glynda walk on.
"You will all sleep in the ballroom tonight." Glynda says. "Tomorrow, your initiation begins."
"Is it just me or did Ozpin seem off?" Yang asks.
"No. Something definitely seemed different about him." Pyrrha says.
"Yeah." Ruby agrees. Latias simply frowns.
Several hours later and the four girls had decided to stick together for the night. They had there sleeping bags in a cross shape. Pyrrha smiles as she sees Latias walking over in a two piece red pajama set with a flower pattern on it. Latias takes a seat on her sleeping bag happily as she turns to see Ruby writing something. All of a sudden Yang slams down on her sleeping bag.
"It's like a biiiiiiig slumber party!" Yang states.
Ruby rolls her eyes. "I don't think dad would approve of all the boys though." She says. Yang looks over to the other side of the ballroom to see the boys most muscular and some messing around with arm wrestling or simply joking around.
"I know I do." Yang purrs. Latias looks over to the boys with a frown. Yang notices and looks over. "You Okay Latias?" That had gained attention from Pyrrha and Ruby. Latias looks over to Yang with a confused look though Yang could see a tear falling from Latias' face. Never the less Latias puts on a smile and nods. Pyrrha and Ruby share a look while Yang frowns.
Ruby moves over to sit next to Latias and gives her a hug. "We're here if you need us." Latias frowns before tears well up. Latias then hugs Ruby while crying into the younger girls shoulder. "It's okay." Ruby whispers soothingly. "Just let it all out." Pyrrha looks to Yang and the two share a concerned look. A bit later the girls were able to finally get some sleep. Though each of them wondered what could have caused Latias to cry. Even Pyrrha who had known her the longest didn't understand what had caused the sudden tears.
Meanwhile just outside the city of Vale in the Grimm infested forests a creature stands in the shadows. With only a silhouette of the bipedal creature and it's glowing red Grimm eyes it watches the two guards at the gates scanning the perimeter with their gazes. It's black and white furred canine like jaw was salivating at the sight of the Vale Kingdom security guards. The creature growls lightly before it scurry's into the darkness a moment later to avoid detection.
