"Please have a seat. Make yourself...at home..."

Lucifer couldn't help but smile as he watched the Angel Michael look awkwardly around the office, clearly distrusting any of the devil's furniture. He finally settled on moving toward the plushy arm chair across from the Devil. As he moved to take the seat, Lucifer delighted in assuring him, "It's a merlot stain, not blood. No worries my friend."

Michael hopped back to his feet instantly, disgust clear on his face. With a sigh the angel decided to perch on the arm of said chair, crossing his arms and folding in his wings tightly. The angel took a moment to collect himself, and once he had regained the poise of Heaven's finest he relaxed into his words.

"You're aware I'm here about you daughter?"

The Devil rolled his eyes, and slumped back into his throne. "Yes I assumed it was about that. I don't know where she gets these wild ideas but she's young. She'll have dropped this silly project by the next extermination I'm sure."

"I don't expect you to take this seriously, Lucifer-"

"Please, call me Lucy," The devil interjected with a smirk.

Michael tensed. Secretly he was incredibly annoyed that he had to be the one to come down to this filthy place and try to be civil with the devil himself But duties are duties. He sighed.. "There is a reason some people are down here, LUCIFER, and some of us up there. It's a balance, it's consequence, it's order. We don't take kindly to toying with these things and whether the girl keeps it up or not it still doesn't send the right message."

"And what message is that? Aren't your lot all about forgiveness up there?"

Micheal winced. Yes, he truly had forgotten how much he detested Lucifer. Or rather detested his silly cat and mouse games. "Yes, of course," he continued, carefully. "All of the heavenly angels have been forgiven of their sins, but they still earned their place upstairs. Those down here...unfortunately did not. And to play with the ideas of redemption after death….It's harmful you understand. Why be good in life if you can always turn it around once you're here."

As he spoke, Michael sensed he was losing him, watching Lucifer begin to idly notice and play with a spider on this throne chair arm. "You understand this is for us both? You'll have no dominion to keep if she sends your people our way. And we're not asking to interfere past supervision. As YOU would say….we're scratching each other's...um...feet."

Lucifer bit back a laugh at the angel's failed attempt. Michael was visibly ruffled, understanding he had misspoken but not knowing the phrase. The pompous angel's discomfort brought a bit of his playful spirit back.

"I'm not convinced my FEET would be properly scratched….," he chuckled. "You see my daughter has a new dream and what kind of a father would I be if I didn't let my little darling learn from falling and scraping her knee. I have no illusions that her silly plan will result in anyone making it out. And besides," Lucifer leaned forward, "It's also occupied one of our more...tumultuous residents which I quite appreciate. Alastor has been getting a bit too sure of himself and this distraction has helped keep him off the war path. Idle hands and all that-" Lucifer wiggled his fingers at the angel with sneer and a wink.

"We're sending in a supervisor regardless of your blessings," Michael said firmly, clearly losing his patience. "We had HOPED for your support on the matter but we'll be ACTING with or without it."

And with that, Michael stood to leave, back straight, wings expanding, the superiority of heaven lifting his chin. Lucifer turned his attention back to the spider, annoyed but wheels turning. The Devil could have fun anywhere couldn't he? There had to be a way to make this a little more interesting, a little more in his favor, a little more…

"Wait."

Michael stopped. Turning with a sigh. "Yes," he said through gritted teeth. But a twinge of fear hindered his annoyance when he saw the light in the Devil's eyes.

"Can I decide on which of your angels will be supervising?"
