A/N: Have you guys seen the trailer for a game called Lies of P? I would hope so since the oldest trailer I found was about a year. If not, check it out on YouTube for extra context.
I fell IN LOVE with the trailer, and absolutely want to buy the game. The trailer alone made me write these.
These are nothing more than trailers for a potential future Movie Chapter, which might be a long, long, LONG time away if Lies of P doesn't come out soon. Still not so much as a release YEAR for the game.
Anyway, writing trailers is... weird to say the least. Honestly, I'm not really fond of what I wrote. Definitely feels incomplete.
A fair warning, these contain spoilers for some of Jaune's future powers, abilities, and techniques. But you guys already knew that. After all, what is a trailer other than one big spoiler?
Anyway, enjoy.
"You need me for a mission," Jaune asked as he stood in Glynda's office, the beauty with her back turned before looking back at him.
"Yes."
Screen switches to Glynda throwing newspapers and reports on her desk.
"I've tried sending Internation Third Classes and our best National First Classes... but-"
Jaune is seen riding on King's Glaive, the camera moving to show him riding towards a large city.
"Are you sure you can handle this without Nimueh?"
"It's Mother-Son Time. She and Argent have been planning this for a while, and I'm not to ruin that. Besides, I have plenty of tricks up my sleeve."
An animation of Jaune activating his Ambrosian Garb is seen.
"So, what am I up against," Jaune asked as he is shown walking up and examining a corpse. "A Grimm didn't do this," he said.
The next scene shows him fighting a shadowed figure, dodging three slashes from the attacker's sword before using Tiger God Style's Tiger Grip, crushing his enemy's head.
The next scene shows Jaune's defeated enemy illuminated by a flickering streetlamp. "An automaton?"
The following few scenes were of Jaune fighting automatons.
Jaune slashes an automaton with his False Sword of Destruction. Two slow slashes before landing two quick ones, oil flying everywhere like blood. Jaune then used the Wolf God Style to attack two automatons, jumping off the hallway walls they were in.
He used Tiger God on a larger automaton. It tried to punch him, but he zipped behind the large machine and pounced on it, crashing it to the ground before stabbing his claws into the back of its head.
Two automatons walked towards him. He uses his False Staff of Creation to smack a building next to him, the wall falling directly on the machines, crushing them.
Two smaller robots rush towards him, only for Jaune to use fire magic to melt them.
Jaune dodges a gunshot and uses Serpent God Style's Sidewinder to smack the automaton off of the roof, watching it shatter to pieces when it landed.
Jaune used his sword once more to slash an automaton, the robot trying to slash him, only for Jaune to step back. He then grows his wings to use an Eagle God Style combo on it, the final strike being a sort of wing uppercut that seemed to stun the taller robot.
Until it blew up.
Various scenes showed Jaune fighting robots with his sword, staff, or martial arts. It even showed him using his lamp to illuminate a faded map, the light actually preparing it before an automaton burst out of the wall, knocking Jaune back.
The next scene was a massive, electrified automaton holding the large, armored hero with just one hand, examining him.
Jaune then punched the ground, sending out an electric wave that caused the downed robots to shoot into the air.
A robot landed a lucky hit on Jaune, giving out enough force to slam him onto the ground.
Jaune ripped his sword out of a robot with enough force to make it skip across the ground.
He was now standing before a lit mansion.
The screen turned black before showing the title:
The Cruelest Lie of P
Jaune kicks a gate open before walking in, a screen lighting up.
"Ah, the legendary Jaune Salem Arc," a portly figure said.
"And who might you be?"
"I am called The Coachman. And I have been waiting for you," he says as something rises in front of Jaune. "I've waited so long to pit you against your greatest failure."
"My greatest failure?"
What rose looked like a box. Something that dolls come out of. Then, it opened, Jaune's eyes widening. "No."
The automaton began to power up... with green energy.
"Oh, gods, no," Jaune went with a breaking voice.
"Why could you not save me?" Swords then flew out of the box.
The trailer ends with the video fading to black, The Coachman's evil laughter echoing as the credits faded away.
Second Trailer:
A gargoyle looking over the city as the sun rose was shown.
"This was once a beautiful city, Your Majesty," an old man sitting down said.
"It's just Jaune," his voice went as scenes of the ruined city is shown, automatons walking everywhere.
"How did everything go so wrong? How was this city even hidden as long as it was," Jaune asks as a scene of a robotic dog eating a horse's corpse was shown?
"Not all Atlas scientists went back to New Mantle, Mr. Arc. Some wanted a new life in a kingdom of their own making. That's what Krat was supposed to be. We were blessed by the hands of craftsmen on par with the late Professor Pietro Polendina."
"He was a brilliant... and kind man."
"He must have been, to forgive you on his death bed."
Scenes of the snow-covered city were seen.
"This was truly a beautiful city. But even with our prosperity that rivaled New Mantle, it was no use against the plague."
"Plague," Jaune asks as the scene of a rat crawling out of a corpse's mouth was shown. It looked to be a regular rat. But on closer inspection of its eyes, it was red. Grimm red.
"A darkness came and destroyed everything," the man said as he and Jaune were shown. Jaune gripped his fist at the mere word of darkness. "I too have fallen. Only one has prospered. I know he was the one who spread it. My life is leaving me, Vale Knight. All I wish is to see him dead for what he has done. I tried to forge something. A son to combat his evil. But I was too slow." The man looked up, his own blue eyes looking into Jaune's. "I should have called upon a savior much sooner."
Jaune stared at the man before turning away, looking down. "I'm no savior. I've already failed to protect this city."
"No one being has the power to save everyone, Jaune. Not even you. However... you can prevent this hell from spreading."
The next scene shows Jaune opening a door.
"You are indeed powerful, Jaune. But even you will need weapons. Equipment that will minimize the strain on yourself. To save your awesome power for the devil that deserves its wrath," the man said as Jaune looked at the countless swords and guns in the room.
The next scene showed Jaune using a giant saw blade on an automaton, sawing it in half. He finished it off by slamming the saw onto its head.
The next showed him rigging a barrel with fire dust before kicking it towards a group of robots, the explosion taking them all out.
He made a trip wire trap next. A massive automaton came charging at him, but when it tripped on the wire, it yanked a railcar and crushed the robot, oil splattering everywhere.
"Having fun with that old fool's toys, hero," Coachman mocked.
"I'll have more fun when I ram one through your tiny, black heart," Jaune said as he parried an automaton's strike, breaking its weapon.
"I don't think my 'doll' would like that."
The next scene showed Jaune getting blasted through a building by a green laser.
He was parrying countless flying swords before shattering one.
Jaune was tackled by an automaton with long, orange hair, the robot smashing him through many walls.
The Cruelest Lie of P
Jaune was panting, pointing his sword at a downed enemy, the camera only showing the tip of the blade near a fair, feminine chin.
"Are you going to kill me again?"
The screen turns black as Jaune screams in anguish.
A few seconds pass.
"Hey, hey, shh. I'm not going to hurt you," Jaune says softly and kindly.
"D-Did papa send you?"
"No."
"He said... he said I was a failure," a small girl's voice went, a dark room appearing.
"Your 'father' is a fool. You are no failure," Jaune said as his armored hand was held out.
A small, fair hand reaches out towards it. A child's hand.
"This time... I will protect you."
Final Trailer:
The scene opens with more automatons being made, the Coachman chuckling vilely as robots were stumbling through the city.
"This power is magnificent. With these robots, Remnant will fall before me. As long as I can recreate his greatest failure, not even the Grimm King can stop me."
THAT GIRL ISN'T HIS ONLY FAILURE.
The trailer shows the Coachman jumping in fear before turning around and looking nervous before rubbing his hands together with a sly smile. "Your Excellency. Have I pleased you, Lord?"
YOU HAVE, BUT I WANT YOU TO MAKE THAT TRAITOR SUFFER EVEN MORE. HE HAS ONE OTHER FAILURE. ONE EVEN GREATER THAN THE ONE YOU WIELD AGAINST HIM NOW.
As the Coachman was speaking with his lord, Jaune was walking through a junkyard that was basically a graveyard for automatons.
"That is..." The Coachman chuckles darkly as the video flashes to show golden shin guards... and heeled boots. "Lord... I SHALL FOLLOW YOU TO MY DYING BREATH!" As the Coachman cackles, the video goes back to Jaune walking in the graveyard. Then, his head snaps towards groaning, the hero taking a stance.
The pile in front of Jaune explodes towards him, and Jaune jumps over it.
He is shown running from the tidal wave of metal, using parkour and his wings to avoid the deadly iron and steel.
He looks up to see a wave of metal in the shape of a hand trying to crush him.
He freezes another wave of metal before punching it into ice crystals.
Finally, his attacker jumps out of from a pile and throws something at Jaune. He catches it, but it turned out to be a flash grenade. Jaune stumbles back, now blinded.
He is seen fighting his shadowed opponent, the moon covered by clouds to hide his enemy.
The enemy fights Jaune with a sword and shield, but Jaune is able to fight off the automaton with his sword and enhanced senses.
The trailer shows the enemy taking what would have been a familiar stance.
With a wave of the enemy's hand, more metal flies towards Jaune.
Finally, Jaune shakes his head as his eyesight returns.
The enemy tries to throw another bomb, but Jaune avoids it this time. However, the enemy used the magnetic power it's been relying on to make the flash bomb appear in front of Jaune, it going off.
"That's not going to work a second time," Jaune said with his helmet on. He then rushes at his enemy and clashes with it.
Then, his eyes widened when he saw what he was fighting. Tears began to well in his eyes. "No. No. This is impossible. Please, no."
The clouds then parted the light of the moon shining onto beautifully fiery red hair... and a golden circlet. What's worse, Jaune recognized the sword the automaton was using against him, as well as the shield... on her arm.
"I'm sorry," the automaton said in a breaking voice. A voice Jaune wanted to hear again... but not like this. Never like this.
Cruelest Lie of P
A/N: And so ends my tribute to Lies of P. I know, I know, it's obvious who Jaune's main adversaries are. I know it's been done to death, but come on! Look at Lies of P's trailers! How could I NOT make them his enemies?!
Anyway, Cruelest Lie of P won't be made until the actual game comes out, and I either play and beat the game (which I totally would) or just be a penny-pinching cheapskate (which I absolutely am) and watch the cutscenes on YouTube. My money is on either BabyZone or GameClips to upload the Full Movie.
Hopefully we won't have to wait too long for the game to come out. Let's just be patient.
Until next time!
