Here is the next chapter to Demon Slayer: Hellfire and I still have spots open if anyone want to make one.
Chapter 2: Know the Enemy.
Lucas was seething as he looked at the clothes that were once his family and looked at the two calmly talking about having to take care of them as if they were trash.
"How dare you." he said getting up and drawing the attention of the two that had done it.
"Excuse me?" the woman asked looking at him throwing her long hair away from her face, "we saved your life, you should be thanking us."
"Thank you?" Lucas asked through his gritted teeth and a glare in his eyes as he looked at them both, and they looked back at him with series expression.
"Yeah, if it won't for us, they'll turn you in dinner." the man said smirking as they looked at Lucas standing there, his eyes burning with anger, yet they both saw tears running down his face..
"They were my family and now they're gone." Lucas said tear streaming down his face and their expression soften, looking at each other and then back at him.
"Sorry to hear that." the man said collecting the shredded remains of your siblings pjs and placed them with the remains of you mothers pjs, "Here, i can help you bury them in a grave if it would help you."
"Russel, we need to focus on our mission on finding him." she cut him off and looked at him, "This is the closes we got to an moon in fifty years."
"I know that Daisy, but we can't just leave him like..." Russel was cut off.
"The man in the goggles!" Lucas yelled bolting from where he stood and forced his tired body to run back home, leaving behind to shocked people who watched him run off as they head on after him. His body cried for rest, but he silenced it as he burst through the doorway to his house and up the stairs to the room where he saw. Nothing. No man, no baby sister, no blood, just an empty room.
"Man, you ran this far?" Russel asked coming up behind him, holding his punch daggers in hand and looked inside, "What's going on?" Daisy brushed past them and looked through the room as Russel sheathed his punch daggers, "So, was he lying or..."
"No, he was here and only moments ago." she answered examiningthe room and checking everything, I'm not sure why, but he was here and then left.
"M-Mei..." Lucas said looking at them in the room and they both turned to look at him, "H-he must have taken her."
"Whoa, there' no way he took her." Russel said putting his hands up and looking at Lucas, "He mostly just a...' He suddenly looked at the room they were in and the thought made him sick to simply think of that.
"Not likely." Daisy pulled both of their attention to her, "Why would he pick a random house in the middle of another's territory just to turn a family and eat a small baby?"
"Hmmm, good point." Russel said crossing his arms, "So, what was he looking for?"
"Not sure, but we need to tell the others about this." Daisy said taking out her phone and calling someone, "Hello, yeah. We need pickup and head to the house asap." The two made their way through the door and down the hall when Russel's arm was grabbed.
"I'm coming with you." Lucas said as they turned to look at him.
"Kid, this ain't a game." Russel pulled his arm free looking at him, "These things are dangers, this isn't some kind of game where you a second chance."
"Don't you think I know that?" Lucas yelled out waving his arm at the empty house that was once his home, "My mother and little siblings were killed, and turned into monsters that you killed. I don't have anyone, or thing left in this world except the possibility of Mei being alive. If she's out there, then It's my job as he big brother to try and find her." The two looked at each other and then back at him with Daisy sighing.
"Sadly, he does make a good point and we have had to numbers to run down help." she said and RUssel nodded.
"Okay, get a bag. The car will be here in twenty minutes." Russel smiled as Lucas ran to his room, leaving the two of them there as they waited for him, "You think this is a good idea?"
"No, but what else would he do?" she asked him and Russel remembered past events of other's losing their family, and it was not well. "Besides, if he fails he could always join another area of the group."
"True." Russel answered with Lucas leaving his room with a bag and then the three headed out with Daisy once again getting on her phone, "Yes, we will be bringing a new recruit for testing and look for a teacher for him." Lucas had no idea what she was talking about, yet he could since that it was best to just go along with them and follower their ordered.
The sun was high in the sky as the trio were driving along down a secret dirt road that was hidden from any map, even from satellites and the owner of the place enjoyed it that way. Lucas was fast asleep with a light snoring sound as Russel was seated next to him and Daisy taking the passenger seat.
"You sure he can handle this?" Russel asked her and she just looked at him from the review mirror.
"He might not have what it takes, but then again the test is open to the teacher." she answered when the car finally pulled up to a building and Russel violently shook Lucas awake.
"We're here, get out." Russel said acting tough was Lucas noticed the drool running own his chin and climbed out to stretch his legs, it was then that he saw were they had stopped. A church.
"Why are we here?" Lucas asked looking at them, yet they didn't answer him and he then saw a figure walking towards them. It was an older man in his late fifties with long, clean silver hair, a matching beard and mustache, and was dressed in a black priest robe with a cross around his neck.
"I see you two are doing well." he said smiling looking at them both and then his gaze fell onto Lucas, his smile vanished and concern replaced it, "did you lose your family to the demons?"
"H-how did you..." Lucas asked before the priest placed his hand on his head.
"This is a location that those who lost families to demons come and receive training to join the corp." the priest said turning and slowly walking into the church, where Lucas followed after the other two had piled into the car and was heading off. Inside, everything looked normal for a church as he led him through the main area and another door before leading him to a set of stairs leading to the basement.
"Hey, wait." he paused for a moment looking at them, "I've seen this movie."
"You are not the first to make that commit." the priest said grinning at him before walking down the steps and Lucas followed him, walking through the door at the bottom. The room he saw was in shocking as he saw everything from weights, to punching bags, and even boxing ring along with several weapons on the walls. "My name is Calin, and I use to be a high-ranking member of Demon Slayer Corp before I retired and made this church for those who had lost someone to the vile creatures and wish to help rid the world from them."
"Demons?" Lucas repeated as he couldn't believe it, "My family were tuned in demons by that guy?"
"Yes, but he was most likely a demon too." Calein said walking to a wall and picking up a sword, turning to show Lucas allowed the young man to notice a golden hew to the blade running down the spine and a cross like hand guard by the hilt, "There are only three things that can kill a demon, sun light, a plant called Wisteria that is highly poisons to them, or these, Nichirin blade. Made of a rare ore that constantly absorbs sunlight, cutting off a head of a demon would kill them" Hearing this made Lucas focus on the other night and think of how his family were killed by the two sword users.
"So, how do I get one of these swords?" Lucas asked looking at Calin who looked back at him and chuckled.
"Oh, my boy. You have a long way to go to get there." Calin placed the sword back and took a set of weights off the wall, walking over to Lucas, "First you need to pass the breathing test, by placing these on first." Lucas was confused before placing them on his body and he could barely move with these on, they felt as if four kids were pulling him down. "Good, now take the ten-mile run around the mountain and then come back here to practice your stances." Lucas just stared at him, hoping that was a joke and yet the kind smile on his face told Lucas it was no joke. What kind of hell did he get himself into?
Russel and Daisy were on their way down the mountain in the car when a screen hidden in the roof lowered down to reveal a man hidden in the shadows, yet his body could be seen covered in sores and his skin sickly white.
"Have you any info on this young man's family, master?" Daisy asked looking at him, a worried expression on her face as they looked at their leader.
"Nothing really." he answered back in soothing voice, a smile across his face to calm them, "All the info we could dig up just says he comes from a normal family, no real reason it seems to draw Obsidian to them other then something he wants to try."
"Could it be that he has found the cure to the sun for him?" Russel said a hint of fear in his tone, "If he has found to cure, then we're out of time."
"No, for he would have simply killed everyone and since what the info about what Lucas told us." Daisy said looking out the window, her mind racing with thoughts of things.
"What's troubling you, my child?" the master asked, seeing she was deep in thought.
"Well, it's what you said master." Daisy began, "I mean, he turned the other three members into demons and took the baby without possibly harming her, and Lucas said he came face to face with him."
"So?" Russel asked cocking his eyebrow and looking at her, "A few slayers have seen him in the past."
"And how many of them are still alive?" she asked them, and their silence answered her, "Exactly, he could have turned or even kill Lucas in that instant, but he simply used them to distract us and fled, that makes no since unless their's something that we're missing in this whole thing."
"Agreed," the master said looking at them, "I'll have the research team look deeper while I need you two to head to the Rockies, trouble in Motana."
"Yes sir." they said in unison as the screen turned off and retracted back to the roof, the driving continuing down the road leading away from the church that was now the house of Lucas and let the young man spend his day training.
