Here is the next chapter to Demon Slayer: Hellfire and I still have spots open if anyone want to make one.
Chapter 3: Inherit the Past.
Three years have passed since Lucas had started his training with started of him running ten-mile run, weights, and sword play all with weights of twenty pounds on his wrists and ankles. Once her got use to that, the training changed with him having to climb up a waterfall and then avoid logs with even more weight on. From all that training, he got a stone rock body with extra-long hair and his sword skills got better with every one of his days. Calein was impressed by his progression and smiled as Lucas finished the last of his sword stances training.
"Very good Lucas." he said smiling sipping on his coffee as Lucas put his arm to the side and looked at him smiling.
"Thanks master." Lucas said as he walked towards him, sweating running down his body as he stood in front of Collein, "What now master?"
"Now, it's time for your final test." Colien said heading to the stairs, "leave the weights and follow me." Lucas placed them on the wall and followed Colien up the steps, and out into the back where hsi master was standing by a giant rock towering over them both and a long sword in his hand.
"What is that?" Lucas asked not sure if he had missed it or if it had been moved here while he was not looking.
"Your test." Colien said handing the sword to Lucas, who had finally seen the blade for the first time up close and he was shocked to see the blade had a golden glow to it, with circular imprinted on the metal, "This, is a nicharin blade made in the western style of the Long Sword. It was mine and it is one of the only ways to kill a demon."
"So, Russel has something like this?" Lucas remembered the night his family were turned and killed as he looked at the sword, yet he was sure that Russel had something different.
"His are call Katars, punch daggers from India and the color are different because I was the user of Breath of Heaven techniques, and he made his own breathing style as the metal of the nichiran change color with the user making them switch." he explained letting Lucas hold the sword and walked towards the rock, placing his hand on it, "That is what I have been teaching you these last three years, Breath of Heaven and your final test in your training before heading into finial selection is to cut this rock in half."
"What? You have to be kidding me." Lucas said looking at the rock and then his sword, "That's impossible."
"And so was you surviving meeting with Obsidian." Lucas' blood boiled hearing the name of the man who took his family away from him and had his little sister, which he had learned was know as the Six Under Moons and that they had a leader that had not been seen in years.
"Calm yourself." Colien said placing his hand on his back and patted it, gaining him to look at his Master while he had to take a few breath before finally getting his mind calm. "I'm sure you'll find your sister and I am also sure you would help take him out once, and for all."
"Really?" Lucas asked looking at his master and was a little unsure as to how he should continue with it all.
"Yes, but first you need to finish the test." he said smiling and walked back to the house, leaving Lucas to hold his sword and gritted his teeth before swinging the blade at the rock. He struck it with all his might, only for it to bounced off the rock and made him stagger back. Lucas looked at the blade in his hand and looked back at rock. Lucas then took hold of the blade and resumed the attack on the rock.
Night had fallen onto the mountain and Lucas laid on the ground, staring up at the stary sky as he had not even come close to cutting the rock in half.
"Really?" a voice called out from out of nowhere and Lucas looked up to see a young girl, no older than eight sitting cross legged on the rock, "Are you stupid or something?"
"Shut up!" Lucas shot back before he could really think over what was happening as he asked, "Wait, who are you and what are you doing here?"
"Blind too huh?" she asked hopping from the rock and landed near him, kneeling to look him in the face and flicked his forehead, "Training, just like you."
"Ow." he yelled out and rubbed his forehead, scowling at her as she grinned and leapt away from him swiping at her, "Training, I haven't seen you around before."
"That's because I'm a better student and mastered this test a while ago." She patted the rock and looked back at Lucas, "You just can't see it because you're too stupid."
"What do you mean by that?" he asked looking at her and she cocked her head to look back at him, her hands on his hips as she scanned his body language and a sigh escaped her lips, "What?"
"Tou can't just attack it blindly with rage." she answered crossing her arms and looking at the rock, "You need to keep calm and levelheaded, use what you need to beat it and no more." Lucas looked at her confused getting to his feet and held the sword tightly in his hands, looking at the rock before charging at it and swung with all his might, and it bounced off again. Annoyed, Lucas began to unleash a large assault onto the rock with all his might and fury as he was angry. Angry for not hitting the rock, angry for losing his family, and angry that he couldn't do anything. After one final swing, it bounced off again and he fell to the ground with a sigh, breathing heavily from trying so much and looking back up to the sky with her head peaking back down to him.
"Still attacking blindly and hoping that it would work?" she asked looking down at him and all Lucas could do was nod, which gained him another flick to the forehead.
"Ow, why do you keep doing that?" Lucas asked looking at her and she just sighed.
"The fact that you keep asking means you're not getting it." She said standing up and slowly walking away, her bare feet crushing the grass of the forest near the rock, "Come back tomorrow and try again. And then maybe you'll finally figure it out." Lucas looked at her confused and sighed as he was tired, so he did call it a night and want on to rest for the night.
Three weeks have passed, and Lucas still had not cut the rock in half and the girl's constant insults only fueled his want to prove he can. Bouncing off after yet another chance swing of his sword and growling glare as he stared at the rock as if it was mocking him.
"You are still an idiot." she said having perched herself on a tree and looked at him, her feet kicking while she watch him fail time and time again, "Brute force isn't going to work and will only waist more of your, and more importantly, my time."
"Then how about more of a hint than you're an idiot or you're blind?" Lucas asked as the end of his rope and wonder what he should do to get this stupid sword to cut the rock.
"You do know you're using the Breath of Heaven style, right?" she asked staring at him and Lucas looked at her, wondering what that meant and then it hit him at the beginning of his training what he was told.
"The Breath of Heaven is special as one needs to be calm when they use it." Colien explained sitting with Lucas at dinner.
"Calm, how can you stay calm with demons out there killing or even worse to people?" Lucas yelled out his question, yet Colien remained calm as he looked at the young man.
"That is why it is not the easiest to master, they I'm sure you'll master it once you find your spot." he said smiling looking at Lucas and resumed his eating.
"Find your spot." Lucas mumbled looking at the rock, holding his sword in hand and taking a deep breath. His eye shot open, and he then saw it. I small little spot near the right of the center. "Breath of Heaven First Form: Holy Light Rays." Lucas launched himself forward and with a sword of his sword, hit the spot and cut the rock in half. Lucas looked at his sword touching the rock where he had cut it and smiled spread across his face.
"Well, I guess even an idiot can pass the test." she said dropping to from her tree and landed on the ground, rolling on her heels, she began to head back into the forest.
"Wait, where are you going?" he asked looking at her and she turned to look at him with a smirk.
"We'll meet again, just stay alive and stop being a idiot." she said giggling and headed on into the forest.
"Hold up, what's your name?" Lucas called out watching her vanish into the forest.
"Katie Littleton." her voice carried to him and into his ear, making him smile as he heard her name and he needed to thank her when they meet again. But at the moment, he headed back in to find his master and brought him out to show him.
Three days later, Lucas was standing on a different mountain in the middle of the Appellation with a bunch of purple floors glowing in the moon light. He looked around and cloud see several others waiting with him, with one in a mask and looked about with their back against a tree. They seem to look his way before resuming to look around, catching Lucas' attention and was about to step closer when three figures began to walk up lone path that allowed the acsesee to the mountain. They were all dressed in a robe that covered their whole body with just their silver hair on each of their heads and golden eyes that matched the lining of their robed. The two smaller ones looked to be twins and the other seems to be their mother as they were a stroking image of her. They reached the rope that was stopping them from going higher up and turned to face them.
"Hello, everyone." the tall one spoke in a sweet, caring tone that could put one at ease even on their deathbed, "And welcome to the Final Selection. By passing, you will join the Demon Corp and become one of us." She waved her hand to the flowers around them, "These flowers keep demons we had captured from leaving the training grounds, but they don't go any high than this so they will be danger."
"Wait, we have a place that we let demons roam around?" a voice called out and everyone turned to them. It was a young man with lime green hair down to his shoulders and blue eyes with a staff on his back, "isn't that a little danger."
"No one comes this way, we are far from any trails and we work to keep it hidden. But someone stumbling into it is possible and would be tragic." She took a deep breath, seeming to calm herself from the thought, "But we should talk over the test. It's simple, return back here in seven days." She said gazing out to them all and watched them stare back at her, "I wish you all best of luck." Lucas took a deep breath, looking at every one around them and they were than told to head on out into mountain, and so his test began.
