When I was 4 years old, I learned the hard way that not everyone stands on equal ground.
"Hey you broccoli head!" an older kid called to young Izuku. As this was said to Izuku, he turned around and spoke "Yes?" not really bothered by the comment on his hair.
"We heard about your quirk," said the older child, with a fiendish grin. Izuku's reply, with a slightly worried tone "What about it?" When Izuku asked this question, the older kids started to laugh uncontrollably "what about it!? you have a stupid and weak! quirk, there's no way you could ever by a hero!" '''gasp''' Izuku jumped back as the older kids proceeded to attack him to remind him of his place in society with a weak quirk.
'''Earlier that day'''
"We'll miss Midoriya, I can say for certain that young Izuku definitely has a quirk a strange at that" the doctor spoke to the mother and son duo. "strange... just what is Izuku's quirk doctor?" Inko asked with a worried tone. Izuku was sitting on a stool next to his mom, just listening to what was being said.
'''sigh''' The doctor "from what the test results show us, Izuku has an odd emmiter type quirk that is unlike your quirk or your husband's... Izuku can send out particles that slow down anything that touches them for a little while before they resume their normal speed."
Inko listened as the doctor kept talking about her son's quirk when she said, "That's completely different from mine or my husband's quirk. Is everything alright with him?"
Izuku just sat on his stool, excited at what his quirk was. '''sigh''' the doctor sighed again as he said "miss Midoriya mutations like this are far from the strangest thing about quirks Izuku will be perfectly fine" Inko who was worried this whole time let out a relieved '''sigh''' as she thanked the doctor and took Izuku back home.
On the way home, Izuku asked his mom "hey mommy" Izuku's face was happy as he asked the question to his mom. "What is it, sweety?" Inko replied back to her son. "Do you think that I could be a hero with my quirk? Do you think I could be like All Might!" Izuku was giddy as he asked his mother the question. Inko was hesitant to answer her son, worried for his safety if he became a hero.
"I don't know Izuku... but I know that if you put your mind to it, you can definitely become a great hero." Inko had a happy expression on her face even though she was worried sick about her son. Izuku was even happier, his face threatening to split in two from the size of his grin.
As he and as mom returned home for the day, Izuku thought to himself, 'I will definitely become a great hero.'
