July 1991
"Severus! It's good that you came," Lucius said with an earnest smile and patted his back.
Severus just sneered at his old friend. "I didn't have a choice," he mumbled.
"And you brought someone with you," Lucius said cheerfully.
"I said I'd bring Claire and her daughter here, didn't I?" He rolled his eyes.
"I mildly tolerate the kid, but did you have to bring the Mudblood over here?"
Claire looked at the blond man with fury.
"Play nice," Severus muttered. "Well, aren't you going to let us in?"
Meanwhile, Bree squirmed behind her mother. She never got used to the man standing before them. He always made her feel unwelcome.
"Narcissa?" The man called as they walked into the room.
"Yes, darling?" She said with a smile as she walked towards them.
"You remember Mrs. Fraser and her daughter," he commented.
"Of course, how could I forget?" She said with a calming demeanor. "Please, let me show you to your rooms."
After settling in and finding their places, they were told to arrive at dinner with them.
"But I don't want to!" Bree said with a frown.
"I know, Bree, but we have to…" She paused for a moment. "What was it that Uncle Sev said? Oh yes, we have to play nice."
"But Lucius is mean to mean! Sure, I can tolerate, Draco, but when he's around me at school, he's also mean to me as well!"
Claire looked at her daughter with a frown. "That's not nice. I'll have a word with his mother perhaps."
"No, please… That'll just make things worse." Bree begged.
Claire sighed. "Fine, let's just see if your Uncle is ready."
Bree humphed and looked resigned at the thought of spending dinner with the Malfoys.
"I'll be right back and see what is taking your Uncle long," her Ma said. Before Bree could protest, her Ma had left.
Twiddling her thumbs, she looked around as she wasn't sure what to do.
Meanwhile, Claire found Severus sitting on the bed looking straight ahead. "Penny for your thoughts?" She asked as she was leaning against the doorframe.
Severus jumped looking startled.
"Sorry." She whispered then gradually walked over to sit next to him.
"I just don't like being here… If I had rejected their offer, they'd nag and they'd go after me until I say yes…They're not the best company to be around and I'd prefer to be at Spinner's End reading a book about plants." He heaved a long sigh.
"Don't forget that firewhiskey," she chuckled.
Severus glared at her. "Come, let's get over with it." He held his hand out to her and she took it.
As they walked out, Claire asked. "You don't happen to have anything about hedge stones in your library, do you?"
Severus halted and looked at her with narrowed eyes. "You wouldn't be planning on leaving would you?"
"If such an occasion arises, then I sure hope to," She said then huffed. She walked past him to escort her daughter to the dinner.

September 1993
The feast began.
Brianna was sitting with her usual crowd, Cho Chang and Padma. She had warmed up to them during the months of being in school. Even though they weren't her best friends, she'd consider them her good friends. She looked at the Gryffindor table forlornly. She watched Hermione talk to her peers while she ate.
And then there was Draco, whom she felt the eyes on her the entire time. She wasn't sure what his deal was really. They're friends when she visits him in Malfoy Manor. At least he was kind to her more than his parents were. It was as if he was playing double agent or something.
When everyone was done, as per usual, the prefects would help everyone lead their way to their dorms. As she was walking towards the stairs, someone grabbed her arm.
"Ow!" She hissed as she was being backed into a wall. When she saw who was it that attacked her, her eyes went wide. "Draco!"
His hand clasped over her mouth. "I am sorry that I have to do this, but I had to talk to you. It's urgent -"
"Urgent enough that you had to attack me while walking?" Bree hissed.
"I know how and where…" He paused for a moment. "I can take you home. You and your mother."
"You…What?!"
"Miss. Fraser, Mr. Malfoy!" Said a shrill voice.
They both jumped. "Professor McGonagall!" She muttered.
"What is the meaning of this!?" The Professor asked.
"I - " Bree started to say but was cut off by The Professor.
"Of to bed, both of you!" Professor McGonagall yelled.
Bree blushed and rushed towards her bedroom.

Halloween 1993
This was Bree's favorite time of year. She loved that the castle was dressed up full of Halloween decorations. That morning, this time, she sat with Harry, Hermione, and Ron. She didn't like Ron that much because he liked to joke around a lot. Even though Harry was sorted in Slytherin, he kept his friendship with Ron and Hermione. She had admired him that much.
Still, she felt eyes on her from across the room.
"Why is Malfoy staring at us?" Ron asked with a mouthful of food.
"I don't think he's staring at us specifically, Ronald." Hermione rolled her eyes. She turned to whisper towards Bree. "Are you okay?"
Bree sighed. "Yeah, I'll tell you later." She mumbled then picked up her back. "I'll see you guys in Hagrid's class." When she left, she heard footsteps behind her.
When she turned around she saw Draco again. "What do you want from me, Draco!"
"I just want a few minutes of your time, that's all." He said while begging her.
Bree grabbed him and led him to an empty classroom. When she pulled out her wand, she locked the door with a spell. She had a look of confusion.
Draco regarded her for a moment and looked shocked. "Are you telling me that you don't know that you're initially from the past?"
"I am from…. What?" Her eyes went wide. She paused for a moment and stared at him with contemplation. "You're lying!" Brianna demanded.
"I - I - " Draco stuttered. "Well shit." He back up towards the door and tried to unlock it.
All of a sudden the door opened slightly and she bristled with intense anger. "You have ten seconds two leave." She said and started heaving. "Now!"
Draco finally left. Moments later, she heard footsteps near her.
She was lying on the floor when she felt strong arms pull her up to a hug.
"I am sorry you found out this way," said a deep voice. "We were planning on telling you…." He said trailed off.
"Uncle Sev," Brianna whispered. "Why…"
"Your ma has her reasons…." He paused for a moment to affectionately stroke her hair. "She's on her way to explain. It's not my place."
At that moment she heard another set of footsteps.
When she arrived in Hagrid's class, she couldn't concentrate. Her mind was on the conversation she had with her Ma.
'We were at war, you see. Your da had a way to protect me. He thought that by going back to my time, we would be safe.'
'Did he know about me?'
Her ma nodded. "And he loves you very much."
She was pulled out of her memories when Draco was confronting the beast that Hagrid had lectured about.
"You're not so dangerous at all, are you?" Draco spat.
Time stood still as she saw Draco get attacked by the creature.
It took the Hagrid a moment when Hermione told him he needed to go to the hospital wing.
Later that day, she sneaked into the hospital wing when Madam Pomfrey stepped out.
"That was a stupid thing you did," Bree commented as she arrived at his bed.
His eyes went wide. "What are you doing here?"
"What does it look like? I came to check up on you," Bree rolled her eyes when her ma came in.
"Came in to check on our patient, Bree?" Her ma asked with a smile.
Brianna blushed and nodded. She sat down at the nearest chair and held out a book.
"You're reading to me, are you now?" He smirked.
"Even though you had acted stupidly by interrogating the beast, I've come as a friend," Bree commented.
"We're friends now, are we?" He grinned.
"Oh don't look at me like that," she rolled her eyes and started reading aloud. When she realized that her ma was helping out someone else, she cast the muffliato spell she learned from her Uncle.
"You've got to teach me that spell," he grinned.
Bree sighed. "I actually came here for a reason."
"Of course you did."
"You were right… It seems that my ma left out details of my past that she and my uncle, your godfather were eventually filling me in." She muttered as she was opening up her ancient text. "I have reason to believe that I am from the 18th century…" She paused for a moment as if trying to contemplate what to say. "She didn't tell me what period I am from because she thinks I'll try and leave her to find my da." She rolled her eyes. "Even though she told me that she has been planning on trying to find a way back to him."
"Would you?" He asked with narrowed eyes.
Brianna shrugged her shoulders. "I mean, I just learned that my da is, or was for that matter a highland warrior. He fought in the battle of Caulodon."
"Your blood runs with warrior's veins," Draco said with awe.
"What is it with your culture and type of blood?" she rolled her eyes.
Draco shrugged his shoulders.
"You could try being nice," she said with a pointed look.
"Too late." He winced.
"What does that supposed to mean?" She crossed her arms.
"I had Bubbeack executed." He said then looked down on the floor. She stared at him for a long moment and he did look genuinely guilty.
Bree slapped his face which caused Draco to look shocked. "I definitely deserved that."
"I don't know why I even bother," she jumped off the chair, picked up her bag, and stepped out of the infirmary.
"Brianna!" Her ma yelled for her, but Bree didn't want to hear any of it. She left to find Hermione.

November 1993
The four of them were seated near the lake with Hagrid. Harry and Ron were sitting on a log while Hermione and Bree were standing behind them.
They watched as Hagrid was throwing rocks at the lake. One by one the splash was getting larger.
Bree nudged Hermione in hopes she'd get the hint of asking Hagrid what the verdict was for Bubkbeak.
"Hagrid," Hermione whispered.
One by one they heard a splash in the Black Lake. On the last splash, Hagrid knelt to the floor and yelled. "Buckbeak was sentenced to death."
Both Bree and Hermione gasped in unison.
After their outing with Hagrid, they walked back to the castle.
"For what it's worth I slapped Draco. He's decent once you get to know him. But he can definitely be a prick." Bree muttered to Hermione.
Coincidentally, they saw Draco joking with his friends. Really Draco? Bree thought with a sigh.
When they paused in front of Draco and his friends, Bree spoke. "I thought you said you learned your lesson." She raised her eyebrow.
"What gave you that impression?" Draco laughed.
"You know what, I am done, you can be nice to me all you want alone, but…." This time, instead of slapping him, he punched him in the face. She was beyond frustrated. Maybe his friends have a bad influence on him. She thought.
Hermione's eyes went wide and dragged Bree away from Draco and his posse.
"Come on, let's go visit Hagrid," Harry suggested then dragged them away.
"What do you see in him, Bree?" Ron asked looking baffled.
"What do you mean?" She asked looking confused.
"Well…" Hermione paused. "I wasn't the one who brought it up, but the two of you have been ogling each other." She muttered as she knocked on the door of Hagrid's hut.

Christmas day 1993
Bree was curled in her ma while her uncle was sitting on the opposite end reading the newspaper. She was aching to know more about her past. About her da.
Nervously she glanced up at her man then bit her lip, she looked back down on her book. When she thought she had her courage back, she glanced at her ma once again.
"You're being distracting, Bree," Uncle Sev muttered then flipped a page from his newspaper. "Ask what you want, before I will lose patience" he rolled his eyes.
Bree sighed when her ma glanced at her with her signature smile. "What is it, dear?"
"I was wondering if you can tell me more about, da. You've told me so little." She asked then placed her book on the coffee table and looked at her ma expectedly.
Throughout the night, both Uncle Severus and Bree were all ears of what had occurred with her ma and dad. She was fascinated by the tales they have endured.
"You know, my dear, sweet, Bree," her ma started to say as she caressed her cheek. "We will have to leave soon. I don't know when, but we will leave soon."
Bree blanched then glanced at her Uncle. He looked at her with encouraging eyes. When she looked back at her ma she said with confidence, "I'm staying."

June 1993
Hogwarts has ended for the year, Brianna and her friends were finished packing. Even though she stayed in the school throughout the year, she wanted to say goodbye to her friends. They were waiting for the train when she saw Draco walk up towards her.
By the end of the year, Draco had calmed down with his facade and they both became closer friends. She was glad that he decided to get away from his friends as they were being a bad influence on him. As they became close friends, Brianna had realized what her friends had meant. She was developing feelings for Draco Malfoy.
She turned around when she heard her name, "have any plans for the summer, Draco?" She smiled.
Draco shrugged then leaned against the nearest pole. "Nothing of interest." He shrugged. "If uh," he blushed. He grunted, "came to say that I'll write to you this summer. I'll make sure that you and your family will not be invited over." Brianna was thankful for that because of her past visits at the Malfoy Manor, she didn't have fond memories.
Brianna smiled slightly. "Well, that's good. I need someone to keep me company with." She bit her lip.
Draco looked at her curiously.
"I have no interest in going back with my mum. I grew up here and made a life here." Brianna shrugged her shoulders.
Draco grinned. "Well then, this summer will be an interesting one."
