I opened my eyes and I was shocked to be greeted by her.

I knew this was another dream, but I felt conscious.

This hasn't happened before. I was surprised, but felt calm inside this dream for the first time in forever.

She was surrounded by darkness, but I couldn't help but notice the light that surrounded me.

She stood straight letting her blonde almost white hair fall on her shoulders.

She wore a white dress that reached her ankles with short sleeves that reached her shoulders.

I felt her bright blue eyes on me.

I wasn't afraid, but I didn't feel safe either.

I stared proudly back at her.

She looked at me in silence for so long that it was torturing me inside, I was waiting for the moment that she would drop that peaceful expression and turn into her normal self, a person full of rage.

A person with no room for love and affection.

The more that she wasn't speaking, the more was the silence killing me inside.

"What do you want?" I whispered, but I could feel the bitterness in my voice, which scared me.

She just tilted her head on the right side and looked at me emotionlessly.

I felt anger build up inside.

"What do you want!?" I spoke louder, trying to get a reaction out of her but it was futile.

"What the hell do you want?!" I shouted, walking close to her.

"What do you want from me, mother?" I screamed in her face.

"They don't care about you," she said in a whisper and I shivered.

I shot her an angry look, mixed with confusion.

"They, the X-Men, you think they care, but they don't," My mother spoke with the same bitter tone as I spoke before, I cringed at the similarity of our voices.

"Bullshit," I retorted.

"Nobody will ever care about you except me, my dear child," she spoke and extended her arm to touch me.

I slapped it away and scoffed.

"You? You cared about me? since when? You never did anything for me! You didn't give shit about me! You always controlled me, made me the way you wanted me to be. Well guess what that ends now." I couldn't stop the words from coming out.

"I am going to be my own person. I want to be a part of the X-Men, I want to fight for the mutants, I want to fight side by side with my family and believe me when I say that they care more than you ever did and you know what? I care about them too," I said, then and only then did I realize that I knew what I wanted.

That my mind wasn't the mess it used to be, I finally knew, I understood myself.

Her cruel laughter made me look up at her, glaring.

"You are a fool, you really think this is going to last? That the X-Men are going to last forever? They won't and one day they are going to move on, grow up, make families, have a future other than the X-Men, in which you won't be a part of." She said and I felt insecurities catching up to me, but I shook them away.

"We'll see" I answered coldly.

She laughed once more.

"You are so pathetic, you are going to stand for them after everything I told you? Whatever, but let me tell you that Kathryn when the future comes hitting your door do not say I didn't warn you," she spoke and blood began coming out of her mouth my eyes widened.

A huge wound formed on her throat, like someone had sliced it.

I watched as she reached for her bleeding out injury, blood staining the white dress and her long, blonde, slightly curly hair.

I felt a tear run down my cheek.

She collapsed to the floor and I looked down.

"It's your fault! All of it is your fault! I can't wait to see you fall apart when the X-Men leave you broken. Because that's what people do, they get into your life, gain your trust and then stab you in the back!" she said between coughing and spitting blood out.

"It's all your fault, you destroyed my life," she muttered and her last breath released.

Why?

Why did she always blame me?

Why?

For as long as I could remember, she'd repeat those words.

But why?

That's when I noticed something I hadn't before, I was holding something, I had a dead grip on it actually.

I looked down slowly to see a bloody knife on my hands, I screamed and threw it away. I fell on the floor and took sharp breathes.

Did I do this?

Did I slit her throat?

I asked myself but my thoughts were interrupted by someone grabbing my neck and throwing me against the ground.

I screamed as I was met with my life-less mother.

She got on top of me and screamed her lungs out

"You!!! Always you!"

I screamed in fear as her blood streamed down to my face.

"You think your friend Kurt cares? He doesn't and he never will!" She yelled.

"No! Not true!" I exclaimed and shot awake.

Kurt woke up from my sudden burst and that's when I realized we had been sleeping on each other.

"What? What happened, you okay?" He asked as he checked our surroundings .

I took deep breaths, repeatedly, calming myself down.

"Katzchen?" He asked softly rubbing my back.

I nodded slowly and shot him a small smile which he gladly returned.

"Wait! Has that think stopped moving or is it me?" I asked and we both exchanged a look as realization hit us.

We stood up and rushed to the pilot seats, I phased us inside the other room only to find no one there.

"Oh shit," I said and slapped my hand on my thigh.

"How long have we been out? " Kurt wondered and I shook my head.

"Long enough to reach Mount McKenna and Logan to disappear into the mountain," I said and Kurt got frustrated by my answer.

"I have an idea! I will try to reach the institute by the jet's communicator!" He suggested excitedly and nodded.

"You do that, I'll go out to see if I can locate Logan," I announced and phased out of the jet.

My feet hit the floor and touched the white virgin snow.

I immediately felt the cold wind blow against my face, I hugged my chest tightly, trying to keep myself warm.

Mount McKenna was almost all the time of the year frozen as far as I know.

The whole place was covered by huge layers of snow.

I put on my hood preventing snow from hitting my face.

It was snowing heavily and the snowflakes were hitting the ground fast, but not fast enough to cover all of Logan's tracks, I could clearly see a pair of footprints walking towards the forest.

I heard Kurt teleport next to me and I turned to face him.

"Did you reach the institute?" I asked quickly.

"No, the commutator is jammed, I can't reach them " he said and I sighed.

"I guess it's just you and me then," I said and he winked at me, making me laugh at his silliness.

"Come on elf, let's follow Logan," I said and walked after Logan's tracks with Kurt by my side, trusting me take the lead.

-Time Skip-

Me and Kurt followed the tracks for a long while until we reached a spot inside the forest, as something caught my eye.

"What, you saw something?" Kurt asked noticing me examining the spot more than the previous tracks.

"There was a fight here," I said and his eyes widened.

"How can you tell?" He asked confused.

"Here, look, there are Logan's footprints and those are someone else's, someone who weighs more than Logan. There was a mix up with them, see the way the footprints mix, that means there was struggle. And lastly, look at the tree, those scratch marks on it, if they were Logan's there should be three of them, those are five, that means that someone with five claws and not as well shaped as Logan's attacked him. I think we both know someone with those characteristics," I said and he nodded slightly shocked.

"Sabertooth," he whispered and I nodded.

"Also, something fell down, right here, and by the looks of it, it wasn't Sabertooth," I said feeling my concern getting over me.

"Logan lost the fight?" Kurt said in disbelief.

"Yes" I answered and swallowed hard.

"Sabertooth's footprints continue, and he seems heavier too, lucky guess he is carrying Logan. They went through there," I said pointing at the direction.

"Okay! So, let's follow them," he said and I nodded.

-Time Skip-

We were walking for a while but came to a stop once I spotted a figure on top of a high rock edging from the rocky mountain.

"Kurt, look! " I said and he laughed with relive

"It's him! We found him! Logan over here!" He shouted and waved at Logan.

Logan expression seemed cold, emotionless and it scared me. I haven't seen him like that before.

Something is wrong.

Suddenly Kurt's smile dropped and was replaced by a shocked expression as Sabretooth approached Logan and stood next to him.

My eyes widened.

No, there is no way.

"Oh no, he brought a friend," Kurt said backing away.

"Sabertooth, but they are mortal enemies," I said in disbelief, while they jumped down and ran towards us.

"Yeah, ours! Run!" Kurt yelled and grabbed my hand, dragging me to run with him.

We ran, but they were still faster than us.

"Hurry! They are catching up!" Kurt screamed and I pushed myself to go faster, but there was no use, they had already caught up to us.

I heard Logan's metallic claws pop out and I tried to dodge him, but the ground gave in.

"Katzchen!" I heard Kurt yell before I slid down a slope.

I fell on my back, thankfully I didn't break anything.

I stood up and saw Kurt teleport away, trying to avoid Sabertooth's attacks, while wolverine got down the slope.

I stood up as he approached.

"Logan, listen to me -," I said but was cut off by my own gasp as Logan's claws met my shoulder.

I stood my ground, but still reached for my wound as blood streamed down my hand.

This isn't Logan, he would never do that.

"Logan, it's me, Kathryn. What's wrong with you?" I said softly and he groaned in pain.

He grabbed his head as he took deep breaths trying to control the pain.

"Kathryn" he stuttered in pain and screamed, falling to his knees.

He pulled his claws inside.

"I know you're not yourself, but at least you recognize me. You and I have gone through some stuff. We are friends," I said trying to help him, remind him of who he is.

"Run! Kid, run! Take elf and run, I don't want to hurt you!" He yelled and screamed in pain.

"We are not going anywhere without you! We are going to help you, I promise!" I said gently and he sat his eyes.

"Please half-pint, just leave!" He whispered not opening his eyes as he squeezed his head with his hands.

"I am not leaving you!" I yelled and he suddenly relaxed, I stood there puzzled as he removed his hands from his head.

I backed away as he stood up emotionless.

I met his eyes and they were cold.

"Logan?" I asked, hoping that he could hear me but I got no response.

His claws popped out and he began running to me.

I gasped and ran away.

I tried to slow him down by phasing trough some trees, but as it turns out it was a bad idea.

He sliced the tree like he was cutting air and it landed exactly on the spot I was at, I yelped in surprise but phased through it kept running.

My eyes widened when I realized I was going straight for the edge.

I reached the edge and looked down.

There was no way I could survive this fall we were too high up.

Then I felt a drop hit my forehead and slid down my nose.

Then another, and another.

It was raining.

It was snowing and raining at the same time.

Well, that's something you don't see every day.

I could hear Logan standing behind me.

I sighed.

It was now or never.

I turned to face him with sad eyes as he grabbed the collar of my uniform with his left hand causing my hood to fall off, and pointed his claws at my face with his other hand.

They were just an inch away from my eye, already scaring it.

Then, out of nowhere, Kurt teleported behind Logan and his eyes widened when he saw the situation, I was in.

"We are popping out of here!" He reassured me grabbing my arm.

"No wait! I am reaching him. Trust me okay? " I said and pulled my hand out of Kurt's as he looked at me anxiety raising inside of him as I placed my hand on Logan's.

"It's me. Kathryn, Half-pint, remember Wolfie? Please try. You saved my life the first time we met. Remember that? You taught me that there's more in life than just pain. You taught me that not all people in this world are meant to hurt us. You made me trust again. You helped me through it all, you were there when I needed you, always."

"And now I am going to do the same thing for you. Whatever they did to you, you're fighting it! You can win! Don't give up, please don't give up on yourself. Please Logan, you can do it! Do you really want to hurt me, Logan?"

I said to him softly and I could feel his hand trembling below my touch as he looked at me with wide eyes, a tear rolling down his cheek.

He collapsed on his knees and pulled his claws in, he let go of my shirt and hugged me instead.

I grinned and fell into his embrace, letting my head rest at his shoulder.

I moved slightly to meet Kurt's eyes.

He was smiling sweetly and I smiled back at him as he gave me a thumbs up and I laughed slightly.

"Wrong move!" I heard Sabertooth roar.

Logan pushed me away as Sabertooth tackled Logan down the edge.

Kurt and I stared with wide eyes as the two men climbed up quickly and ran towards the top of the mountain.

I stared as Logan ran first and I just knew he was heading to the source of his pain.

"He is taking control," I said to Kurt but didn't move my eyes off Wolverine.

"That seems to be Sabertooth's plan too," Kurt said and I placed my hand around his waist.

"Not if we stop them," I said smirking and he smirked back.

He teleported us at the top, and we found a hidden entrance inside the mountain we teleported in.

There was a full structure in here, we walked in our feet hitting the metallic floor making a loud bang whenever we took a step.

It was an alley that led to a big metallic door, in which Sabretooth stood.

"You go for Logan, I'll handle Sabertooth" Kurt whispered.

"Are you sure you can handle it?" I asked and he smirked.

"I have been handling this guy for at least an hour, you think I can't do it for five more minutes?" He asked confidently and I chuckled.

"You're right, sorry," I admitted, but our moment was cut short when Sabretooth begun hitting the door with his claws trying to bring it down.

Kurt and I gave a nod to each other and he teleported in front of him.

"Get out of my way!!" Sabertooth yelled as Kurt blocked him.

"Touch me and you will find yourself two miles into the woods!" Kurt threatened and I got this as a que to leave.

"Yeah? Then that's where you will drop!" I heard Sabertooth yelled as I phased through the huge door, leaving Kurt and Sabertooth fighting behind.

But the real fight had begun once I phased through the other side of the door.
