'Wait, what's going on?' Ellie asked in slight disbelief.
'That dog from next door keeps chasing me! Kept chasing me for a week each time I passed by the house. Owner eventually had to get him an electric collar to keep him in the yard. But would you believe it, the damn dog figured out that as long as his freaking collar doesn't cross the line he doesn't get zapped! And I stepped in freaking poop that he left me on the sidewalk! He's driving me insane!' Nick shouted.
'Wow. That's, a lot. Want me to do something about it?'
'Nah. I'll figure it out on my own.'
But knowing very well that he wouldn't, Ellie went next door and very firmly told the dog's owner to leave her husband alone, or things would get messy.
The next day, the dog was gone.
'Guess he finally came to his senses.' Nick remarked.
'Or, your protective wife had something done about it.' Then Ellie explained what she did.
'You didn't have to do that, I said I'd handle it!'
'I did it because I love you, and no one messes with you but me and me alone! And also, you were never going to do anything about the dog.' Ellie replied.
'Aw nuts, you're right. Sigh. Well, thanks for being a badass and helping me out.'
'Anytime.'
