"Are you shitting me!"
Ianto froze, Jack's exclamation not a good sign and he rose to walk over to stand next to his love and look out the window in time to see what Jack was watching.
A boat on the lake doing… donuts? Whoever was driving it was clearly a fucktard as they swung it at such a harsh angle the entire thing turned sideways and they could see the prop now and then. He was gonna tip it over.
Jack rushed to call Marv, Ianto watching at the glass with his stomach flipping over in time with the boat "JACK! HE'S GONE OVER!"
Jack cursed as the threw the phone to Ianto and ran for the boat, leaping in as Ianto struggled to help untie it and Hawk clung to his Taddy as he watched his heroic Dadda drive his boat at full speed towards the now upturned boat.
"Turtle" Hawk said softly "when it's like that is called turned turtle right?"
"That's right, it is" Ianto said with more confidence than he felt "Come on, Daddy will bring whoever that was back wet and probably with a thump to the head. We need some towels, warm blankets and some dry clothing."
Hawk lit up "I can get some towels. How many?"
"How about a bunch. You guess. Go on" Ianto patted him on the back and watched him race off, his fear gone as he was useful. Ianto turned back to what Jack leaning over the side of the boat to hook someone in and as he had predicted, as the man came over the bull-works Jack did punch him a couple of times before letting him flop to the deck. OK, a little angrier than Ianto thought he would be. The he reached into the water again and pulled…. Oh my god. A child. A child? No. Oh god. No wonder he thumped him. No. He had not been alone, he endangered a child!
By the time Jack got back the child was clinging to him with wide shocky eyes, cold and scared as his father lay in the bottom of the boat and groaned as his nose bled all over the deck. Ianto could tell without even leaning over to smell him that he was drunk. Blind drink and as the man started to giggle and talk gibberish to himself Jack handed the child over to Ianto then clambered out to tie the boat.
"Leave the fucker in there" he spat without looking back at the man in his boat "Let him bleed where we can hose it out later. I don't want him in my house. A fucking pandemic and we have had to breach our bubble for his fuckery"
"Agreed" Ianto nodded, ushering the poor kid inside to get dry clothes on. Thank god Imp had some old clothes in back of the drying closet he would not likely fit again. The boy was slightly smaller but Ianto rolled the sleeves as the boy eagerly accepted the mug of soup from the pot on the stove and Jack crouched to check him gently.
If he didn't do something constructive here he might go out and throw the prick back over the side.
