Ianto had been outside, his breath sharp as he closed and locked the door, turning to find Jack there waiting "Where did you go?"

"To the SUV" Ianto replied calmly. His immediate stance one of argument. He knew Jack would hate him going out in the cold so he hadn't told him.

"No, I could see it from here" Jack pointed to the SUV, "You did not."

Ianto felt annoyance now "OK. So ,maybe I went to the shed for something, OK? The OTHER SUV that lives here? Remember? The red one for Lake House Life? We also keep stuff locked in the back of it?"

Jack then looked down to see the buckets in Ianto's hands. Oh. Right. Jack reached for one "Here, I will carry them love."

"My hero" Ianto said blandly as he let Jack carry them to the kitchen and he placed one on a stool at the counter.

"What is it?"

"My Civil Defense kit, the ones I told Marv were not for sharing like the other stuff" Ianto sighed, the lid getting ripped off to reveal supplies. Not ones for a cut or a bruise… or lack of drinking water. Oh no. Like everything, Ianto had different things for different reasons and this bucket was the kid's emergency kit. It was full of… toys! Jack gasped as he reached in to pull to a 3D jigsaw puzzle he had never seen before "Is this… the millennium Falcon?"

"A 3D one so use the PVA glue and once it's finished you can hang it in the rafters or something" Ianto urged Jack back to gloat over it as he found what he wanted in the bottom. The Little Vitamin C lollies for the little ones. Ha. "Well, I will just put these up where Hawk can't get them."

Hawk swung to stare at the jar on top of the fridge where he could not reach it "Now, come on Cariad. Help me take some of this upstairs for when I need peace down here. I think there is Jenga in here somewhere."

He ushered him up the stairs and paused as Jack started to unload a bucket, sneaking back down to watch the stool getting dragged over by a determined little boy who clambered up to reach for the bottle, look around furtively before snapping the kiddie lock lid with ease and popping one into his mouth and then with a look of satisfaction he put the bottle back and pushed back the stool to sit and suck on the orange lolly he had just stolen. It never occurred to him that the drugs were always locked in the cupboard that needed a key. Nope.

Little shit.

His Tadda knew him too well.
