"I would pack him up and take him away again just to recapture that good vibe feeling we had all the way home but I doubt he will EVER want to go anywhere again" Jack sighed "The Lake House will be a dream for a while until he starts to trust that Rose Cottage will not be desecrated like that again."
"I cannot help but think it is partially my fault. I was so busy with those wedding cakes for the Thompson Twins that I was gone all day, Angel and Antonia over with Curt. A double wedding is such hard work" Ton shook his head sadly "I never thought they would have a rave. I guess we are lucky faeces were not rubbed on the walls or something."
"OK. How the hell can I be angry now, that… Ton that is gross and so bloody funny to imagine. Is that a dig at Monkey?" Jack asked with a grin.
"Harley? No. I get the feeling he was not too bad, he might have started it but then lost control, as he does with so many things."
Jack snorted "Yeah, he is a lot like his father."
"I think a lesson here was had by all. Do not trust the children to behave, they can go 'Children of the Corn' on you in no time. For all the extra care and attention they get in this village, they are still kids and prone to brain farts and pack hysteria."
"Mass Hysteria" Jack corrected "Or Pack Mentality."
"Exactly, those too" Ton turned to check the muffins tough the glass door of the over and hummed softly as they had risen to perfection, as per usual.
"Well, Taddy is going to be OK. I see the Biddy Brigade is in full march, did you stir things up?" Jack asked as he impatiently waited for his pumpkin muffins to come out.
"No, I do believe Captain Kitty Hawk stalked the streets in full anger mode telling all who would listen of the injustice here" Ton opened the oven and poked at one with a piece of uncooked spaghetti. He had professional skewers and stuff but Taddy had shown him this way to check and Ton always listens to Taddy. Besides, it was never wrong. "Really I think he is pissed that he missed out."
"He still has not outgrown that game" Jack was excited now, moving from foot to foot as the muffin tray was placed on the counter and Ton moved to get a cooling tray. Ton turned to find Jack juggling a hot muffin in his hands while making little noises of glee and alarm.
"Dad. Every time." Ton said slowly, shaking his head. "Every damned time. See? It's inevitable."
Jack finally took a bite and then made a new noise as Ton silently got the milk carton and handed it over "we will not tell Taddy you did it again."
Jack gulped down the milk to sooth his burnt mouth and then gasped out "Or the milk carton? Right?"
"I am sure I shall never know" Ianto said as he wandered past with a book in his hand and Jack choked on his mouthful of milk all over the floor.
At last he missed the muffins.
Sometimes mess happens.
Inevitable.
