The afternoon was so quiet.
Pixal walked outside the monastery and everything was repaired, and she walked through the hallway and every room and checked every vehicles and it was perfectly renewed.
Why was the place so empty? In the morning there are the boys fighting noises and the afternoon was strangely quiet. That wasn't a good sign.
Every time when the monastery was that quiet it's usually everyone's sleeping, returned from a mission. Or she's in her Samurai X suit, ready to be the city's last defend.
"Pix! What are you doing?"
She looked back, "Nya, oh, hi. I wasn't expecting you."
Nya rolled her eyes, "Well, I wasn't expecting you to be staring into the hallway for a minute or so. Don't you enjoy the quietness? When everyone was gone and we the girls can have our peace." She put her hands in the air, "Hoorayyyy! You wanna help me and Misako make dumplings?"
"I'd like to, but can you tell me where the boys have gone to?" Pixal asked, "I was worried every time the monastery gone quiet."
"Arcade. Because they loses a bet to Jay and he bought all of them to the arcade. Likely enter into the Prime Empire and was planning to stay for the weekend." Nya answered as she stretched her arms, then she looked at her, rather suspiciously, "Why would you be worried? They can handle themselves."
"I…" Logically, Nya was right. Because that's what her system tells her every damn time, their chances outnumbered the villain's, and they have newer vehicles every time, and they returned, every time. Pixal sighed, "I guess I was overthinking. You are right, thank you, Nya."
Nya caught her shoulder just as she was about to walk back to her room, "You might be more logical, but you can't hide your secret." Nya grinned, "A girl reading another girl's mind, normal and usual thing. You are not overthinking. Tell me about what caught you and I'll help you solve it. Or I won't let you go, Pixal."
Pixal stated as calm as she can, "While you fought on the front line, I'm staying in the monastery, doing almost nothing-"
"You're not doing nothing! Without you we won't have anyone the protect the city!"
"My data has shown that most of the time I wasn't taking action, only rarely do I carry out real fights. I guess not being able to do anything, or knowing the progress really stress my system." Pixal looked at Nya, then she took her hand off her shoulder, "May I leave now?"
Nya smiled, "Well, I guess… You can. But honestly, don't be stressed out. We're on the frontline, and it's honestly okay…"
It was a poor word choice, Pixal thought. Frontline was everything but okay. From time to time Zane lost its body part or being hacked or being lost entirely. It wouldn't surprise her if the first thing she knew when she opened her eyes was that he was missing or being exile. Still, it'd be a nightmare…
"…I was worried about Jay, but later on…"
Pixal tried to stay out of everyone's way and tried not to cause troubles. She helped by building and fixing but it was never enough to ease the worry. Although Zane would walk in her room in the middle of the night and ask her is something wrong because he felt her anxiety. She would ask him to stay with her, until she sleeps and the next morning he'd disappear.
"…Well, it became kind of fun later on…"
He returned to his room, of course. If he'd stayed in hers Jay would joke about that all day long. When will that world-saving hero realize it is not funny? To laugh at other's Achilles spot that wake them up in the middle of the night.
"Are you even listening Pix? Hello? I'm trying to 'solve' your problem!"
"I'm afraid I lost track of your words…" There came a typical Nya groan. "…but I do appreciate it. Sadly it might not be something the word can solve."
Nya softened, "Hey, you know that you don't have to worry about Zane twenty-four hours a day right? He loves you a lot-"
"And one day when I opened my eyes he might not be here."
"Honestly! You're like the only concern he has when we're on the bounty." Nya rolled her eyes, again, "You know how he stares into space occasionally, too! Just thinking of you. Oh, goodness. Haven't you spend enough time with him, on frontline or in your bedroom, to know that he is capable of handling himself?"
"Yes, I am well aware of that…"
"Sometimes I wonder if you two are serious about your emotion struggles, you guys are made for each other!" Nya yelled. Pixal knew she completely lost herself in speeches, but she was willing to hear it anyway. "He was so glad to see you every time, doesn't he? He'd reply to you every time with patience. And I dare say if I stick his arm to your back he'd be happy to keep it that way…"
Pixal laughed out loud, "I'm sorry to interrupt you, but that was a bit too much. Why are you telling me that?"
"Ugh." Nya groaned, "I know you half of your heart with him, but he'll return, or we'll bring him back, always."
"Statistically that was true, but there weren't a promise about that, so 'always' don't actually apply here."
Nya shrugged, "You'll just have to have faith, like Jay and I do." She walked passed her down to the kitchen, "Now do you mind joining us in making dumplings?"
Pixal adjust herself, and smiled, found herself rather relaxed, "I would very much like to see you making dumplings." She murmured as she followed Nya's footstep down the hallway.
Anddddddddddd….. this awful piece of writing ends here. Thank you for reading! Have a nice day and a nice week :)
