Chapter Eleven: The Biggest Secret

"You…" Axal breathed, voice rough with something Goten couldn't quite place, an emotion between disbelief and anger. Something that shook the walls around them. "It was you that day in the quad. You're an…"

"Let me explain!" Goten interjected quickly, he could already see the anger winning the battle over Axal's features. Could hear it rumbling at the edge of the man's voice.

"Nella said something was strange about you. She would know. I should have known." Axal's voice grew louder with each word.

Goten held up a steady hand, hoping to ease the other back down. "Axal let's concentrate here. We need to find Trunks."

"You aren't going anywhere near him," Snapped the Alpha before lunging forward.

The movement was unexpected, Goten could only manage a few stumbling steps backwards but it wasn't enough to get away. Axal's large arms wrapped around his waist and together they fell to the ground.

The adult's strength was surprising, even with his injury. Axal used his entire body weight to keep him pinned to the ground. They squirmed and struggled together, Goten using every ounce of energy he had to push Axal off of him, but his hands were slick with sweat. He couldn't get a good grip.

And then Axal's hands went around his throat and pressed down.

"An Omega," Axal hissed, anger coiled tightly in his voice, "An Omega on the Prince's crew. You lied to us all!"

"Axal…" Goten gasped, losing his precious breath of air on the word.

It was wasted. The Saiyan didn't stop.

"How did you do it? Are you even Kakorot's son?" Axal demanded, his fingers cinched tighter around Goten's throat leaving the delicate skin bruised. He didn't expect an answer, didn't truly care. His next words were quiet, deadly serious as he said, "You know the laws. You won't be helping the Prince smelling like this. All you'd be is a distraction. His death."

"No," Goten's attempts grew wild as he tried to fight off the man on top of him. Twisting, clawing, biting, using every inch he could gain and moving in all directions to get just a suckle of air back into his lungs.

Large black spots danced around the corners of his eyes. There was no doubt in his mind Axal would kill him. If the other man wasn't already mated he might have tried to rape him. Goten's scent had made the man lose his mind and not in the normal sense that Alpha's lost control.

Axal was blind with noble rage. Trunks could easily react the same way, but Goten didn't care. If he died now, Axal wouldn't be strong enough to help the Prince by himself. His injuries would lead him to die in the tunnels alone. Goten life could be the difference between success and failure for them all.

Goten felt his own anger flush across his body. He could understand Axal being angry at him, but he would not lie in the dirt and die because some Alpha deemed it.

Something snapped. The energy he used to fight Axal lashed out. The sensation was familiar, bringing him back to the cold floor in the gravity training room where he'd been knocking on death's door. The same thing was happening now and his body reacted.

Yellow light crackled along the lines of his body. He felt it rush into his muscles all at once as the gold aura consumed him.

Confusion churned Axal's face and the hands around Goten's neck squeezed harder, one last attempt to break his neck before any more struggle could be put up, but it was too late.

Goten felt it. He was a Super Saiyan.

The hands on his throat squeezed but the strength felt nothing like it had before. With little struggle Goten broke the grip and bucked Axal off his small body. The man flew through the air across the length of the tunnel where he landed with a hard grunt.

Quickly, Goten struggled to his feet before a retaliation could come his way. He could hear Axal's disbelief across the hall, "W-what are you?"

His secret was out, Both of them, one coming to the rescue of another and there was nothing Goten could do about it now. Trunks was in danger, they all were and he couldn't waste anymore time.

"I'm sorry," he said, knowing what had to be done.

Axal's eyes widened, his mouth fell open and for a second he wore a face of pure surprise. The always grim and always professional mentor to their crew was shocked by what he was seeing. He worked to compose his face back into its usual scowl. "So what?" he snapped, "You going to kill me?"

"No," Goten told him and then he moved. It felt like he took only one step and he was by Axal's side. He heard the saiyan's soft gasp not even fallen from his lips yet when Goten reached forward and struck the back of the neck. A small point, that pinched the nerves just enough to send Axal into unconsciousness.

Such little effort allowed him to knock the brute out. The power felt good, morphing into his muscles much easier than the first time. It was as if his muscles knew what they needed, the exact amount he could handle without overloading like the first time.

That horrible first shock of power had just been a trial run and now Goten's body knew how much it could handle.

He allowed himself a moment to stare at Axal's prone body. Killing wouldn't do anyone good, he couldn't blame Axal for his reaction. In the heat of a battle, Goten couldn't imagine a worst place for his scent to leak out.

"I'll come back for you I promise," he told the unconscious man, before reaching down and tugging the small pouch from Axal's waist. Inside was the small orbs of dehydrated food, Goten popped one into his mouth and threw another on the ground.

A trail. It was the only way he would be able to find Axal again. There was enough that if he broke some in half, and tore pieces from the empty bag… well, it would be a decent trail at least.

"Please don't be mad when you wake up," Goten sighed before he pushed forward with a burst of renewed speed.

He could do this.

With his super saiyan strength it would be easier to find Trunks, and then they could kill Aun and come back to get Axal.

That was… if Trunks didn't kill him on sight.

The power pulled Trunks back into awareness, like having ice cold water dumped into his veins. His senses felt reenergized as the new energy poured over him. It didn't belong to Aun, no Trunks knew the source of the power.

Goten.

His heart hammered its questions against his ribcage. Goten had become a Super Saiyan, why? Was he in trouble?

It didn't matter. The fact that he could feel something besides the overwhelming heat of the tunnels was a relief. If he could feel Goten, the other would be able to do the same. Trunks flared Super Saiyan on his own, it lifted some of the pressure that had been weighing down on him and took off in the direction where he felt Goten.

The additional speed helped. He barely paid attention to the twisting turns of the tunnels or if a particular fork looked familiar. He just concentrated on Goten, following a invisible sense of energy that connected them.

Goten was doing the same, he could feel him coming closer. Both heading towards the same point of intersection. Trunks just hoped a layer of dirt didn't separate them. Even if it did though, with Goten helping they could bring down the giant hill with their power. Bury Aun under the weight of dirt. It might sacrifice the answers to Trunks' questions but he was done with the game of cat and mouse.

Now they were at the point where sacrifices had to be made.

White light suddenly speckled in front of him. Starting as a small dot and growing the closer Trunks flew to it. The Prince frowned, there was no way he was coming to the entrance of the tunnel system- no way, and then he passed through it. Into it.

Into a large cavernous room, with lights glowing from a light source in the ceiling and sleek floor that looked to be made out of a sparkling mineral. The sight shocked him to stop in mid air and take in the surrounding. By some miracle, he found it.

Some sort of throne room and crouching in the middle of it, clinging to his missing arm, was Aun.

"So, you found me little Prince." the creature hissed taking him in with black eyes. "Mmm, you've changed."

Trunks panted as he stared, feeling as if he were staring at a mirage. The asshole had put up quite a chase but he found him and as a super saiyan, Aun didn't stand a chance.

"Trunks!"

His name echoed into the grand hall a moment before Goten spilled in from another tunnel entrance. His hair golden with his glowing power and his eyes wide with joy. Trunks found himself starring, the last time Goten had transformed in a super saiyan he hadn't gotten a good look at the other man. The transformation lasted such a short time, but now it seemed he was in more control.

Goten's muscles were bigger, his hair spiked up in a different fashion that made him look more like a warrior.

"Oh thank Kami I found you!" the younger saiyan sighed, "I thought I was going to be lost in here forever."

Despite himself, Trunks smiled, his own relief loosening the tight knot that had coiled in his gut. All the worry he hadn't admitted to feeling disappeared from his body.

"Yeah," he breathed, "I did too."

"Two saiyans?" Aun clucked from his perch, his pincers clicking in irritation, "It doesn't matter. You are in my layer now, you're as good as dead."

"Big talk for a cockroach who ran away." Trunks snarled, drawing his sword.

"I'll kill you both!" Aun cried before springing from the ground. His crouch gave him an extra boost of speed, it caught Trunks off guard, that and the fact that Aun wasn't heading towards him. No, he lunged in Goten's direction.

"Goten look out!" Trunks shouted as he rushed to help.

Goten was quick though, his small size and new strength made him incredibly agile. He stood his ground instead of back tracking, and when Aun threw a punch Goten caught it with his bare hands.

"Wow," the younger saiyan said, his face falling in mock surprise, "you really aren't very strong. That's kind of a disappointment."

"You under estimate me." Aun snapped.

"No, I think you overestimate yourself." Goten snarled, pulling his free hand back and throwing a hard punch towards the stump where Trunks had caught off the arm. It was a smart move, and Trunks fully expected to see Aun's body fly across the room, but nothing happened.

The prince blinked and stared, searching to see what had happened and then he saw it. A shining dark liquid oozed from Aun's arm, blood, but not from a injury. From the newly rejuvenated arm sprouting from the stumb. He'd heard of alien races with the ability to regrow limbs. Gohan mentioned the Namekians could do the same thing, but he'd never witnessed it before.

Clearly, neither had Goten. The golden haired teen gritted his teeth and struggled to pull his arm back but Aun held it in a tight grip.

"No," hissed the leader of Borgessa, "I know my strength. This planet's core gives me all the power I need to beat the two of you."

Aun's subtle power level suddenly leapt up, growing at exceptional levels. Trunks staggered back from the threat on instinct. It seemed that the heat of the planet's core did more than fill the tunnels. It feed the monster more energy, Refreshing Aun while simultaneously draining his enemies. "Goten!" he shouted at his crew mate.

The other couldn't respond, didn't have time before Aun spun around and threw the small body in Trunks' direction.

Holding his ground, Trunks out stretched his arms and managed to catch Goten's body. The boy clutched his arm to steady them both, and gave a shy grin, "Er... thanks!"

"We're not out of this yet." Trunks assured him, before a smell filled his nostrils.

A sweet intoxicating scent. One he'd fully expected not to smell for months. Unmistakably a Omega. He turned to look around the room, his senses flaring with the need to find the source of the smell, the blood pumping in his ears screaming 'Omega. A Mate! Here! Here!'

Here, the Omega was in trouble. He needed to-

"Trunks!" Goten shouted, pushing both of their bodies out of Aun's war path. The alien soared past them, newly sprung wings spread wide and threatening. His power level was still growing, and with it his body had begun to change.

Trunks stared at the thing with wide eyes as the Omega's smell continued to be inhaled into his lungs. His mind spun its wheels without any traction. Shit. Where was it?

He couldn't concentrate on Aun. Not when he knew there was a Omega nearby, in the line of danger.

"Trunks, get a grip!" Goten said again giving him a hard shake.

It was enough, enough to get another wave of the scent and finally his brain slowed down enough that Trunks could pinpoint where the smell was coming from. Right in front of him, the body still curled close to his chest.

He couldn't breath. "Goten… you're…"

Goten blinked at him, turquoise eyes wide with apology and a solemn answer. "Trunks," the Omega said softly, "I can explain everything but right now we have a bigger problem."

"Bigger?" Trunks repeated, dumbfounded by the careless way Goten was talking to him. Assuring him that his theory was correct.

Goten was a Omega.

And… a Super Saiyan.

His brain was having trouble computing the information. It went against everything his father had ever taught him.

Goten pushed back, putting space between their bodies. The heat disappeared and left Trunks' chest icy cold. "If we don't do something he's going to kill us. We have to end him before he gets any stronger."

Aun roared behind them, Goten's head swiveled back to look at the creature just in time to see it lunge at them again. The younger saiyan hissed a hurried curse and grabbed Trunks' arm, "Stop staring at move!"

He was right, Trunks knew that, but his instincts felt like they'd been set on fire. Torn between fighting to protect the Omega and the shocking comprehension that a Omega was ordering him around. He bristled at the thought, wanted to stand his ground and remind Goten exactly who he was talking too. A firm arm clutching his elbow cut the thought off, as Goten pushed him in the opposite direction.

Trunks let out a cry of surprise before Aun was suddenly in the same spot he'd been floating in moments before, staring Goten down. His heart shrank at the sight, the cry of outrage suddenly became of call to help his crewmate. "Goten!"

Over the span of a few minutes Aun's body had grown, evolved into a grotesque combination of mix-match insect parts. It's claw like arms were now dangerously long, with sharp claws curved at the ends. He swiped at Goten, the movement lightning fast, it caught even the super saiyan off guard, cutting into his arm and side and sending the Omega spiraling into the wall.

Rage burned up Trunks' throat at the sight. He charged at Aun, gritting his teeth on a screaml. His drawn sword glittered in the pale orange light of the room before it swung down.

One of Aun's many arms came up and grabbed the sword, stopping it mid attack. "The same trick won't work on me twice Prince." The insect laughed.

Trunks growled, "Who said it was the same trick."

A sharp blue blue of energy formed in his hand and he fired into Aun's soft underbelly. It screeched in pain and reeled back.

Trunks didn't waste time basking in the victory. He jumped away and flew towards Goten's form. The siren call of his Alpha instincts demanding that he protect his Omega.

The soft feeling of dirt drizzled down from the ceiling like rain, showering his hair and face with grains of mud. Goten groaned as he shifted so the dirt wouldn't fall into his eyes but the movement caused his entire side to seize in pain.

Tenderly he gripped the aching muscles, only to feel warm liquid pool between his fingers. He was bleeding, enough that clinging to his super saiyan from had become difficult. Goten barely blinked before the golden aura around him dropped, his black bangs fell back into his eyes and the ache in his body intensified. Not good.

"Goten!" Trunks called before landing on the sleek mineral floor beside him, practically sliding to a knee next to his crippled body. The Prince took one look at him and cursed, "You're hurt."

"It's not bad," Goten protested, quick to assure the Prince that he could still fight. Now that his secret was out to Trunks he didn't want things to change. Couldn't let things change, not after he'd worked so hard to prove himself.

Trunks glared at him, "I can smell the blood."

"It's a scratch, worry about the giant bug we need to squash." Goten nodded his head towards the wall where Aun hung, like a hungry spider, staring them down while tending to his wounds.

Trunks pursed his lips angrily but didn't argue. "His underbelly is soft. We can kill him if we strike him there."

"I don't know if I can turn into a super saiyan again." Goten said, "You'll have to land the killing blow."

Trunks' elegant brows narrowed, "It'll take too long to conserve the energy. He's too quick."

"I'll slow him down."

"You will not!"

Goten sighed, he expected the denial but not the shiver of glee that he got from hearing Trunks' booming voice. The Alpha was just following his instincts, trying to protect him, but now was not the time. "I'm still small and quick," he explained softly, struggling not to let his voice rise, "You're the only one with enough power now to kill him. I know you won't let him kill me."

Trunks' face fell, a rare sight where his expression became completely unguarded. Lips soft and slack with nothing snide to say. Then just as quickly as it appeared it was gone, replaced by a hard look that truly showed he was Vegeta's son. Determination flashed in his blue eyes. "Damn right I won't. Afterwards we will have a conversation about this."

"Can't wait," Goten grumbled staggering to his feet. He chose to ignore the hand offered to assist him up, and tried not to show how much he was favoring his good side. Together he and Trunks took in the creature crawling across the ceiling above them.

"I've got a new technique," Trunks said quietly, "It'll be enough to kill him, but might take a bit to charge."

"How long?" Goten whispered back.

"Two minutes."

The Omega nodded in understanding. "I can hold him off. Don't keep me waiting." He turned and gave Trunks a reassuring smile, trying hard to ignore the dread clawing at his stomach. Two minutes with his injuries would feel like a lifetime.

Judging by Trunks' face, the Prince knew it. "Stay alive."

It was the last thing he said before Goten took to the air, pouring every ounce of energy he had left to follow his Captain's order.
