As Optimus tried to plan a way to rescue his son, Lancex was studying the dungeon. This wasn't anywhere near as sophisticated as the one that he had broken out that the fiend had him in. The o key difference was that in that dungeon, he was not chained. Lancex didn't have a lot of movement but he had some. He was able to use one of his many weapons to move a card that had a special rune on it. This card Lancex knew would dissolve the chains. He merely had to place the card on the chains.
Lancex, after maneuvering into a strange position, postitioned the card just right and soon the chains vanished. Lancex smirked. He gathered his stuff that Megatron had removed, including his optic cover. And upon retrieving that, Lancex found another weapon that he thought would be various useful. He grabbed the special sword and then threw a card with a rune onto the wall. This rune looked like three circles, one inside the other like a target, and on the very outer circle were triages whose points pointed away from the center of the circle. Lancex then added the last mark – an X through the smallest of the circles. In an instant, a warp field was open and Lancex was gone.
A very short time later, Megatron approached the cell, planning on doing very dirty things with the bot. Megatron smirked as he entered the dungeon until he turned around and realized no one was in the cell. Megatron was livid. This would not stand and Megatron swore to capture the bot again. In his rage, he missed seeing the rune on the wall, the rune that opened a warp to wherever the bot touching the card wanted to go. It was a good thing Megatron knew nothing of runes, or Lancex would have been in trouble once again.
Meanwhile, back at the Autobot base, Optimus was having a meeting in which the Autobots were planning to retrieve Lancex. All the bots knew Megatron was a vile bot and could do unspeakable things to a captured Autobot, and so they were desperately working on a plan. Optimus was talking when he was suddenly stopped by a green flashing orb of light. All the Autobots were puzzled until Lancex stepped through. Though stunned, the Autobots cheered, before all but Optimus left.
Once the others were gone, Optimus got up to hug his son. Lancex hugged his father tightly. Lancex was glad to be back with the Autobots, but he also knew Megatron would stop at nothing to take and defile the young bot. It would take all the Autobots to help keep Lancex safe.
