Sometime later, Lancex finally roused from his deep and much needed recharge. It took him a minute to get his bearings. And when he did, he remembered that he was in his father's quarters. While it was nice, Lancex was pretty sure that these were off limit to most bots. Lancex stretched a bit and then headed out, as his systems were now demanding energon. He headed for the rec room. He knew his father most likely had some in the quarters, but Lancex didn't want to be in the quarters any longer than he had to.

He soon reached rec room, grabbed an energon cube, and then found an empty bot sized table to sit down at. He drank his energon as he read up on the runes he used and ones he didn't know as well as more information on some of the weapons he had picked up. He had no idea that his presence was being sought out by three very determined bots.

As he sat reading his book and drinking his energon, Jetfire, Mirage, and Landmine entered rec room. They were hungry as well, and were stunned when they saw that Lancex was sitting at a table by himself. They quietly and quickly grabbed their own energon cubes before heading over to the table that Lancex sat at.

"Excuse me, may we sit with you?" Mirage asked, not wanting to startle Lancex.

Lancex looked up and saw the trio. He felt his spark react, but subdued it a bit, as he wasn't sure about them just yet. "You may" Lancex finally answered, causing the others to release their collective breath that they didn't realize that they were holding.

"So what are you reading?" Jetfire asked, sounding interested as he had never seen such a book.

Lancex looked over to the bot, and Jetfire looked honestly interested. "It's a book on runes" Lancex answered and explained a bit what he meant. The other three nodded.

"Was that related to something you did?" Landmine asked, very curious.

"It was, and in a way still is" Lancex answered.

"How is it related and what did you do?" Landmine asked, all three appearing intrigued.

"Well, I was trained to fight demons and fiends. I lost many friends to possessions and other things caused by those entities and so I made a commitment to fight and destroy any fiends or demons I find" Lancex explained.

"Will you eve stop fighting them?" Mirage replied.

"Why do you ask such a question?" Lancex asked back, a bit concerned.

"Well, I remember you saying you want a family and feel called to have three mates. What did you want in your mates and would you give up the fight for your family?" Mirage asked, clarifying what he meant.

Lancex then realized why Mirage had asked such a question. "I want mates that will get along and won't fight over me or other silly things like that. And while I may not pursue far off demons or fiends anymore once I find my family, I will fiercely defend me family and those I love from demons or fiends should they try to take my loved ones" Lancex told the three bots. They understood exactly what he meant and were glad to hear it. The four talked and began to get closer. If only Megatron and Unicron could just disappear, the four could be happy. But until the two were gone, the four would have to wait.
