Once the five were ready, Lancex used his weaponry and his optic and created a warp back to Ocean city. Dirt Boss was a bit nervous, but he trusted Lancex and the others that they had spoken the truth. It didn't take long for the group to get back to Ocean City on earth and they headed straight into Optimus' office.
Optimus was a bit surprised to see the group, but greeted them. "Welcome back. Forgive me, but I am not sure who you are" Optimus stated, pointing to Dirt Boss. Optimus had never even seen a bot like Dirt Boss.
"He is an old friend of mine. His name is Dirt Boss. He grew up and currently lives on Velocitron" Lancex explained. Optimus nodded, the Matrix of leadership hiding the fact that Optimus' spark was reacting a bit to this new bot. Lancex explained the mission that they had just been on and the entity that had been destroyed and the weaponry and such that had been brought. Optimus was impressed and it showed.
But as Lancex explained things, he appeared extremely tired. "Lancex, you can update me further at another time. I want Landmine to take you somewhere so you can recharge" Optimus stated. Lancex merely nodded and then fell against Landmine. The bot soon took off with Lancex.
Jetfire and Mirage didn't show that they were a bit upset, but orders were orders. They gave their report and then headed out. They were a bit upset, and so they didn't see or hear that Optimus had asked Dirt Boss to stay behind.
Once they were out of earshot, Jetfire complained a bit. "I can't believe he gets to snuggle with him" Jetfire shot off, not happy.
Mirage was going to reply one way but then thought of a few things. Lancex wanted three mates and he wanted them to not be jealous of each other. "Jetfire, you and I had time with him before. Landmine gets a chance now. Remember, Lancex wants three mates and he wants them to be able to get along and not be jealous as the bots share his love." Jetfire nodded at that, and the pair went to snuggle with each other.
Meanwhile, a very worn out Lancex was taken to a berth in Landmine's quarters. Lancex was too tired to remain standing and soon crashed into the berth. Landmine tried to soften the landing so Lancex wasn't hurt. Once Lancex was safely in berth, Landmine snuggled up and both fell into recharge.
Back in the office, Optimus could see that Dirt Boss was an older bot who had obviously been around for a while. "Thank you" Optimus stated, confusing Dirt Boss.
"What are you thanking me for?" Dirt Boss asked.
"Helping my son out" Optimus revealed to the bot. Dirt Boss looked to Optimus, even more confused. "Lancex is my son. Thank you for helping him out."
"He is your son?" Dirt asked, And Optimus nodded. Dirt sighed. "He's a good kid. I didn't know he still had parents still around. He always felt like a son to me, even though we treat each other a bit more like friends." Optimus smiled at that. Dirt smiled back.
"Care to get some energon?" Optimus asked, planning on taking that bot back to the Prime's quarters and partaking of energon Optimus kept there.
"Sure can, I'm famished" Dirt boss answered. He felt something flicker in his spark, but tried to deny it. He had done so much in his life that he felt that there was no way a bot like the Prime could want him. Nevertheless, he wasn't going to give up this opportunity. And soon, the two were off and getting to know each other. Come morning time, as the saying went, Lancex would be in for a shock.
