The world before you, lies between myriad dimensions.
It was once plagued by divine conflict,
But saviors from beyond were able to
stem that eternal blight.
The strife ended, the world was
to fade from existence.
And yet…
An arcane power acted upon it, bestowing these remains with
purpose once more.
Thus it shines.
The dawn of a new era - one where battle reigns supreme.
Lucilious Tears; Lucil for short.
His prime hadn't left him behind yet; his physique was well sculpted, and taking on a shade of light cocoa. His short hair was a messy, unkempt black and his one working eye was a bright shade of pink. More often than not he had this relaxed look on his face which was both lightly scarred and trying to form into a beard. When he worked, he could recall others saying his expression often shifted to excitement, which could mean he often enjoyed his job all it entailed. Admittingly enough though, this wasn't one of those days when excitement crossed his face, rather a hint of annoyed acceptance painted itself across his face as he scanned the horizon, which revealed itself to be a canyon of sorts underneath an unseen sun.
"Where the hell am I now?"
And true to his words he had no idea where he was.
Sadly, this didn't surprise him.
It wasn't the first time he blacked out, and woke up somewhere that wasn't his bed…
Lucil was known to frequent the bars and taverns with his mates after work. While he never got himself into trouble (read: too much trouble), when he went drinking he tended to - in his own words- black out and wake up somewhere else.
More than once he woke up in a friend's house because they managed to grab hold of him before he drifted away, but other times…
Sometimes he woke up on a boat or a caravan going to a new city.
Sometimes he woke up in a new city without recollection of how he got there.
Sometimes he woke up in a fiend's den with a protective mother just waiting to make his hangover worse.
Waking up in a canyon valley wasn't really that surprising to him.
"Least I got my pants on this time." He stated with a smile as he sat up, and did a few stretches. "Ok Lucil, you know how this goes; First get out the canyon. Second, find the nearest city or something close to that." He started shaking his limbs. "Third, see how much work you got to do to pay for a ticket to get back home." He stated as he looked to the horizon. "Alright, which direction should I go? Eenie meenie money - you." He stated, looking at the tower that seemed to stand in the distance. "Huh." He noted. "This is the closest I've ever been to a city outpost of sorts when I woke up in the middle of nowhere." He muttered scratching his head before putting his hand on his hip. "Well, not that I'm complaining…?"
Stopping Lucil turned his head, his attention turning to see a figure standing behind him, the figure themselves having somehow slipped under his senses until now.
Teleport Magick perhaps?
Maybe they'd simply been hiding until now?
Honestly that wasn't something he ended up questioning.
"Hey there." He greeted with a light wave before seeming to think. "You going my way?" He asked the man walking up to him. "Well if you are…?" He paused, taking in a few details about the other man. "What are you?" He asked, his one good eye glowing for a moment.
Ethereal Savior
Classification: Manikin.
"Manikin huh…" He muttered as his eye stopped glowing as he reached for his sword. "You mean like those dolls that you see in the stores?" He asked as the Manikin raised it's sword before seeming to adopt a stance of sorts. Before he could blink it moved, thrusting that sword of its forward as he moved to the side and pulled his sword off his back and brought it down.
Outrider's Guillotine was a massive greatsword, one easily the size of Lucil himself with a weight that turned the weapon into more of a bladed maul than anything. Lucil brought that mammoth blade down with only his right arm, and the manikin blocked with its weapon before knocking the blade away, did this full turn and brought its weapon around.
Lucil had to jump in order to dodge the katana(?)/nodachi(?) styled sword as it almost split him in half at the waist. The thrust that followed was something he parried with his sword, the force being enough to cause both weapons to rebound as their wielders were pushed back. Lucil backpedaled to get his footing and the doll lunged. Lucil blocked, raising his free hand into the blades path as it bounced off a hexagonal shield of sorts. "My turn." His left hand suddenly grabbed his weapon's handle as he swung it in an overhead arc, the weapon slamming into the earth as a wave of energy raced forward and tore the manikin's sword arm off.
The manikin barely seemed to acknowledge the missing limb as it raced forward a fist cocked back and made to throw a punch. Lucil responded by freeing the top half of its body from its torso.
Putting his weapon on his shoulder he watched the legs slowly come to a stop before hitting the ground, the rest of the doll following suit as it fell from the sky. "Well, that was something." Lucil muttered as he looked back ahead, noticing that someone had apparently slipped under his senses. 'God damn it, this better just be because I'm hungover.'
"Well done." A man that looked like the manikin he just cut down stated as he walked a bit closer. "You made short work of that one." The man stated. "Good. Knowing you can hold your own will prove beneficial here."
"Thanks." Lucil shrugged. "So, you the guy who sent that thing?"
"Not at all." The white haired man stated. "These creatures tend to roam this world, often granted the form of one of those that are brought."
"Like you and me?" Lucil muttered. "So someone brought me while I was drunk." He mused as he looked around. "Well it's better than those times I woke up in a prison cell." He made a noise as he adjusted his sword. "So… why are we here?"
"To fight of course." The man stated.
"To fight?" Lucil asked as he tilted his head. "Why? We get picked up for a tourney or something?" Lucil asked as he tightened his grip on his blade as his counterpart just made a noise.
"To ask why we have to fight." The silver-haired man made a noise and seemed to smile. "It must be your first time here."
"So you're a regular in these parts." Lucil assumed as he set his sword on his back.
"In a way." The man stated as he gestured to the tower that was hanging in the distance. "Though I admit it seems things have changed since I was last callen upon." The man stated as he started walking towards the tower, walking past Lucil as he did. "If you want an explanation, you should head towards that tower."
"Well, it's not like I wasn't planning on heading there anyway." Lucil muttered, putting his hands behind his head as he started following the silver haired man. "By the way, the name's Lucil. What's yours?"
"Sephiroth."
Later
It was going to take a while to get to the tower. Lucil realized as he scratched his head. "I wish I had a chocobo right now." He muttered as he walked on, Sephiroth just making a humored noise as he walked on. Wait a minute…" Lucil paused as he reached for his belt , seeming to reach for something as Sephiroth stopped and turned to him. "Wait, wait, wait - fuck!" Lucil shouted.
"Lost something?"
"I can't find my monster crystals." Lucil explained. "Shit, did someone take em while I was out?"
"Monster Crystals?" Sephiroth seemed to pause. "I see, so you control monsters."
"Only when I have their crystals on me." Lucil sighed. "Damn it, if I had my crystals I could have summoned up a pair of my Lupine to give us a ride." He admitted before seeming to rub his hair. "Well there's got to be that idea." He muttered as he looked back to Sephiroth. "Sorry, guess we really are stuck walking."
"That's fine." Sephiroth made another noise as he walked on again. "Walking doesn't bother me."
"Doesn't bother me either, but when I have a chance to get a ride, I'll take it." Lucil admitted as he started following Sephiroth again. More silence passed the pair as Lucil seemed to stare at Sephiroth for a moment. "By Cosmo you have long hair." He blurted out of nowhere and started messing with a few strands of his unkempt hair. "I wish I could just grow my hair out like that, but I can't make the long hair-look work for me." He admitted. "How do you make it work?"
"Hard to say really." Sephiroth muttered, actually taking a second to touch one of his bangs.
"Either way it looks nice. I mean its hard to pull of long to begin with, but to your extent?" Lucil seemed to nod. "There's probably only a handful that can pull that look off, and you're of em."
"Thanks." Sephiroth muttered before stopping, a faint smile on his face that quickly disappeared as he noticed some manikins making their way towards them.
"More of em huh?" Lucil grumbled as he reached for his sword for a moment and adjusted it. "Well, if we gotta go through them…"
"There's no need for that this time." Lucil turned to Sephiroth, though his attention snapped back as three orbs dropped from the sky as they slammed into the dolls.
"We thought we saw someone familiar." A feminine voice stated as Lucil turned skyward his attention turning to see -
"Well hello hottie." He muttered before turning to Sephiroth. "Friend of yours Sephie?"
"The Cloud of Darkness." Sephiroth either ignored the apparent nickname or just didn't care, walking forward to the scantily clad woman that was coming from the skies. "I see you were summoned as well."
"It appears so." The woman, Cloud of Darkness agreed as she looked over to Lucil who was eyeing her up. "And it appears we have a new ally."
"It appears so." Sephiroth agreed as Lucil shook his head, walked over and held out his hand. "Ally huh? So we're on the same team?" He smiled. "Call me Lucil." He stated, staring at the woman's tits. 'Nice~ but, how are those things staying on?'
"We should hurry." The Cloud of Darkness turned around as she and Sephiroth started off. "We want to be late meeting our summoner, would we?"
"I guess not." Sephiroth stated as Lucil started after the two, though not before taking a few moments to see what the Cloud of Darkness had to work with from behind.
"Down little Lucil, your time will come."
