"There was a shooting…"
Alex paled and her heart started pounding—the only words she heard were: shooting and Casey. She knew that Johnathan was still talking to her, more like screaming to get her attention but Alex couldn't process anything he was saying.
"I have to go…" and with that, she hung up the phone and raced to get her keys; shaky hands and legs not helping whatsoever as she dropped her purse, the contents spilling out all over the floor. Alex wanted to scream, cry, completely breakdown in fear of the unknown but she knew she had to be strong for her babies.
The girls were in the playroom with Emily and she didn't want to race in and scare them, but she wasn't in her right mind so walked up to the doorway and made eye contact with the nanny, "Emily, I need to go out, I'll be back."
Emily looked up and furrowed her brow, she could tell something was very off with her friend—that's truly what Alex was to her; yes, technically Alex and Casey were her bosses, but they were her best friends.
"Lexie," Emily questioned, standing up and ignoring the fact the girls were in the room, she knew they would be okay for a minute. She started calling the women by their nicknames a while ago which made their friendship seem that much stronger—but the fact Alex called her Emily along with her demeanor sent off alarm bells, not to mention her FBI training.
Emily led Alex outside the door and whispered, "Lexie, what's going on? You're shaking and white as a ghost."
Alex didn't want to breakdown, she couldn't. She would not allow herself to: not yet. "T-there was a sho-shooting," Alex said looking away. "I need to go."
It was evident Alex didn't know much more than that so Emily wasn't going to push her, but she also couldn't let her go, "Honey I can't let you drive like this—your legs and hands are shaking, it isn't safe. I'll drive you and—"
"No!" Alex exclaimed. "No, the girls. My babies, they…they what if… my babies—"
"Will be fine, because everything is going to be okay, Lexie. You need to take some deep breaths, do it for your beautiful girls in there," Emily said pointing to the door. "The sooner you calm down the sooner we can go, okay?" Emily knew it was tough love, but sometimes it's needed.
"Okay, okay. I can do this," Alex said taking a few deep breaths. She pushed through the door and picked up Avery and Blayke, Emily picking up Harper and grabbing the diaper bag along with the bag of packed toys they had when they went out—Charlotte following close behind with her elephant.
"Where we goin' mommy?" Charlotte asked.
"For a ride baby," Alex said. What the hell am I supposed to tell my child? That we're going to see if momma is still alive? She was shot, and I don't even know how bad it is—but here I am bringing my babies.
"Where?" the little girl questioned.
"Let's put on a movie, Charlotte," Emily said completely changing the subject. "What do you and Harper want to watch?"
"Cinderewla!" Charlotte exclaimed.
"Wella!" Harper repeated, clapping in her car seat next to Charlotte. Alex was very thankful for Emily in that moment, she was about to breakdown. Hell she's been about to lose it since Johnathan called, Emily has really been there—thank god for her. Alex couldn't help but wonder what would have happened if she got the phone call after Emily left for the day.
They quickly got the babies buckled, put on the movie and off they went with Emily driving. The stroller was in the trunk, diaper bag packed, toys, snacks, blankets packed for all four babies; Johnathan and her dad were obviously there working, Alex could send a quick text and have her mom there in no time, the squad was most likely already working on whoever did such a horrible thing to the love of her life… they'd get the son of a bitch and Alex would make sure they'd get the maximum. On the drive over her mind started racing: how did the trial of a young boys murder caused by another young boy turn into my wife getting shot? Where was she shot? Why didn't anyone protect her? Who shot her? Why would anyone want to shot the most amazing person in the world? What if she doesn't… Alex couldn't finish that thought. I can't do this alone. Our babies are so little…they need their momma. I need my wife…
Alex closed her eyes as Emily drove towards the hospital and thought about all the things she loved about her wife: her sparkling green eyes, gorgeous red locks, a smile that lights up every room, her compassion, the safety she makes her feel, her laugh, that husky voice, can't forget her perfect breasts. She smirked to herself at the thought. Her humor, her generosity, the fact she's the best mother to their babies, she's her best friend… her heart… her forever.
2 hours prior
"I'm very sorry to interrupt your honor but we've made a mistake," Casey announced.
"That's refreshing, I don't often get to hear that in my courtroom."
"The District Attorney's office has reconsidered our decision to try Jake O'Hara in family court and we request that the case be moved to supreme court for trial as an adult," Casey continued.
"Hearings have begun, jeopardy is attached, if I dismiss now the case is over," the judge said.
"These are highly unusual circumstances. Jake O'Hara lied about his abuse, all of his injuries are self-inflicted—"
"What are you saying?" Dr. Morton interjected.
"Dr. Morton," the judge warned.
"We interview witnesses at the camp, they all told us Jake burned himself, this case must be moved your honor," Casey finished.
"I believed you," Dr. Morton stood up. "I fought for you."
"Dr. Morton, sit down!" the judge warned and Elliot stood up to start leading him out of the court room.
"You lying little bastard—" the doctor continued.
"Court officers remove him," the judge said, directing them to get the doctor out of there.
"You little disgrace, may you rot in hell. You monster, you murdered my son!" the doctor screamed as he was pulled from the courtroom. Once Elliot got him out into the hall he told the detective how Jake is a sociopath and will kill again.
Jake came out of the courtroom, his mom by his side and 'apologized' to the doctor for killing Henry Morton, an evil smirk spread across his face.
"You don't know what sorry means!" Dr. Morton screams.
"Leave my son alone!" the mother said, turning around to look at the man.
Dr. Morgan grabbed the court officers gun aiming it in the direction of Jake. Casey was standing next to the little boy and screamed just as the shot rang out.
"NO!" she yelled, pulling him down to the ground; they both fell leaving the mother of the little boy in complete shock.
"CASEY!" Elliot called out.
Johnathan was picking up a shift in the ER when he received a page that there was a shooting at the courthouse—he paled thinking about his mother and sisters. Oh god, no.
"Hey, are you okay?" one of the other doctors said.
"No, yeah, yes," Johnathan said, unconvincingly—shaking his head to clear the awful thoughts running through it. "Do we have any updates on the shooting coming in?"
"All I know is the bus is on it's way in now, same as you, why? Do you know someone there?"
Johnathan didn't work in the ER very often and didn't talk about his personal life with those he wasn't familiar with because he wanted to keep his nieces safe—he also knew if people did enough digging you could find out Alex's maiden name is Cabot which could link them, and the girls so he kept it vague, "Three people actually."
"Oh," the doctor said, sensing he didn't want to talk about it. "I'm sure they're fine."
Johnathan just nodded and decided to wait near the doors so he could be there when the bus arrived—he wanted to be there to see for himself. He tried to think of what day it was and the schedule of who was working, but then remembered sometimes they didn't always follow that if his sisters were in court so he could rack his brain all he wanted to, it wouldn't matter.
"CASEY!" Elliot ran over to her side once the court officers took Dr. Morton away as he was the one who had restrained and cuffed him and saw blood staining her shirt.
He gently rolled the boy's body off of Casey and screamed, "CALL A BUS!"
"Case, Case— wake up, come on Case stay with me," he said, putting pressure to her shoulder where all the blood was. Another officer came and put pressure to the boys shoulder as well. Elliot continued talking to Casey trying to get her to regain consciousness; she took a hard fall on the courthouse floor pulling the boy down with her, and although Elliot wouldn't admit it out loud, he was terrified.
He didn't even know if he was putting pressure on the right spot, however there wasn't any extra blood seeping out so that should be a good sign, right? The paramedics came and Elliot forced them to work on Casey first before the second set came racing up behind them—he would never forgive himself if something happened to Casey. Elliot explained what happened, and once the paramedic cut the top of her shirt to exam where the bullet wound was, Elliot breathed a sigh of relief: she wasn't shot.
All the blood that seeped into her shirt was Jake's—he never took the time to search for a bullet hole in her shirt he just applied pressure: rather be safe than sorry. After all, Casey was family.
"Oh thank god! Take good care of her—she has a wife and four little girls," he said. "Not to mention she just saved that boys life knowing he himself took a life," Elliot said, venom threatening to spill through his voice. The paramedics exchanged a knowing look; this wasn't their first time at the courthouse, and they've had to transport prisoners before—they knew what it was like.
"We will Elliot," the female paramedic assured him—she liked the man, they worked with him frequently. They wheeled Casey out and Elliot tapped the back of the doors sending them off saying a silent prayer for his friend and 'sister'. Let her wake up before Alex finds out what happens, let her be okay—we need her to be okay. Love ya, Case.
He ran to his squad car and went back to the house to talk to Dr. Morton himself—he knew this guy was a ticking time bomb and he finally exploded; and while he may have been able to see his point of view if he didn't cause harm to a child, he inadvertently hurt Casey and that's something Elliot won't tolerate.
Two ambulances pulled up to the trauma bay and Johnathan raced out looking for three people in particular, praying he didn't see them. When he saw red hair, his heart stopped: no, no, no! Oh god, all that blood! He ran over, "CASEY!"
Johnathan ignored what the paramedics were saying, seeing his sister-in-laws eyes were open and grabbed her hand, "Casey, I'm here—I'm going to take care of you."
"Johnathan," Casey croaked; the redhead had regained consciousness in the ambulance. She asked about Jake, then said she needed to call her wife and get home to her babies— 'I don't need to go to the hospital, I'm fine,' were her words.
The paramedics ignored that part, and told her they'd be there soon enough. They wheeled her in, Johnathan stating she's a VIP patient and he'd be her taking care of her—even the nurses stayed behind, not wanting to get in the way.
Johnathan continued to hold his sisters hand, he didn't care how inappropriate it might look to anyone, once they realized this is his sister it would make sense. The paramedics explained what happened, and exited the room to file their reports leaving Johnathan in there with her. "I need to call Lex, I need to get home."
"Case, we need to make sure you're okay first," he said soothingly. "You hit your head pretty hard, I'm going to order a CT and rush it okay?"
"You need to call her, Johnathan! I'm going to be late, where's my phone? I don't have my phone," Casey said, sitting up and wincing a bit. "Lex is going to worry—oh god she's going to hear there was a shooting, she needs to hear about it from a familiar voice I need to—"
"I'll call her, Case. I will take care of it," he said, not wanting to push her further in case of a possible head trauma. "I'm going to get you down for a CT, and I'll call Lexie. She'll hear it from me."
"Okay," Casey relaxed and laid back down on the bed.
"Just lay down, try and relax—a nurse will bring you down in a few minutes and I'll be back soon. I love you, Case."
"I love you too."
Johnathan left the room and put in the order for the scan, then informed the people he was working with that was his sisters wife, aka his other sister—hence his reaction, and to treat her as a VIP. They now understood, and would do everything they could to make sure she was comfortable. He excused himself to make the dreaded phone call to his sister, finding a quiet room and closing the door.
"Novak."
"Hey Lexie, don't freak out but Casey's going to be late—" Johnathan said, but got cut off before he could explain why.
"Johnathan, how the hell do you know MY wife is going to be late?" …well that reaction was expected, he thought to himself.
"There was a shooting…" he said; before he could get any further his sister told him she needed to go and hung up the phone.
Johnathan pinched the bridge of his nose and stared at the phone in front of him, "Fuck! Casey is going to kill me." He called Alex back again but she didn't answer, then he called his mom and dad who didn't answer either. What the fuck, is it not answer Johnathan day?
He raced back into Casey's room to find that they had taken her down to CT, and breathed out a sigh of relief—at least they're speedy. He decided to check on the boy they brought in, as he was the one who got shot; he knew Casey saved him, but didn't know the full story. Not that seeing him would give him that, but he would be able to give Casey some sort of 'the kids okay', 'you did good', type of speech when he saw her.
Jake O'Hara would have died if Casey didn't pull him away—Dr. Morton was aiming for his heart, and although his aim was a bit off, the bullet would have done it's job; because Casey pulled his body away, the bullet caught his shoulder before he fell onto the redhead and they both went down. She truly saved his life. Was Casey the one prosecuting his case? Yes. But there was no way Casey wanted to see a little boy shot—or anyone for that matter. Jake's shoulder will heal and he'll make a full recovery. Turns out Mrs. O'Hara went after Mr. Norton after he shot her son, but the guards were able to pull the woman off of him. She did manage to get in a good punch though. Chaos at the courthouse today—true chaos.
Casey's scans came back and Johnathan was relieved when they were clear: severe concussion which is still serious, but it could have been much worse. "Case, I have good news!" Johnathan said, opening the door to Casey's room.
"I get to go home," she smiled.
"Not yet, I'd like to monitor you for a little while longer—but your scans are clear. You have a severe concussion so you're going to need to take it easy for the next week or so. Give your head a break," he said. "Also, the boy you saved is going to make a full recovery and I'm so incredibly proud of you."
Casey nodded; she wanted to be happy but at the same time she can't help but shake the feeling if she didn't push to get him out of family court none of this would have happened in the first place. In the same breath she also thought about the fact he would have gotten out at 18 and hurt more people, so this is for the better. Right? So why do I still feel so guilty about everything? She shook her head of the thought and let it go for now.
"Did you talk to Lex? Tell her I'll be home soon and not to worry?" Casey asked.
She looked up to meet Johnathan's eyes but he suddenly found interest in the floor, "Johnathan, what happened?"
"Uhh…"
"Don't 'uhh' me, WHAT happened? What did you tell her?" Casey said, sitting up fully now as she started to unhook herself from the wires she was connected to.
"No, no you need to leave those on," Johnathan said, "And you need to rest."
"Johnathan, tell me what happened!"
"I tried to tell her, but she just sort of, umm, she hung up on me… after I said there was a shooting…" he said whispering the last part.
Casey continued to unhook the wires and got out of the bed, reaching back for a minute when she got dizzy then pushed away Johnathan's hand—not listening as he said she needed to lay back down. "Don't tell me what I need to do! Obviously my wife is terrified right now, she probably thinks I'm the one who was shot!"
Casey walked out of her room and searched for one the linen carts, finding a scrub top she then went into the nearest bathroom—she lifted her bloody shirt off herself, put on the fresh top and walked out with the bloody shirt in hand not knowing if they'd need it for evidence. Just in case, she put it back in the room she'd be assigned to, ignoring Johnathan completely. 'Case, you need to rest', 'please, I'll call her back, just rest', 'you're still unsteady on your feet, just take it easy', 'please Casey, I'll go pick Lexie up myself and bring her here'.
Casey made her way towards the emergency entrance with Johnathan hot on her heels to make sure she didn't fall; her head was pounding, but all she wanted to do was go home. Johnathan was just being overprotective, she was fine. It's just a bump on the head—she needed to get home to her girls.
As they pulled into the ER parking lot, Alex jumped out as did Emily both kicking into gear. Alex got the stroller out of the trunk and Emily unbuckled the girls, handing them to the blonde—Avery and Blayke went in the double stroller, Emily getting them situated in there tucking the diaper bag in the back while Alex got Charlotte and Harper out.
Emily knew Alex was freaking out, respectfully so, and took Harper out of her arms knowing she could push the stroller and carry the 2 year old; as soon as she did, Alex took off running towards the entrance carrying Charlotte in her arms. Emily followed along with the twins who were babbling away, Harper pointing towards her mommy and sister who were 'wunnin' way'
"They aren't running away, sweetie," Emily said, picking up the pace so she could catch up.
"Where we goin' mommy?" Charlotte asked.
Alex could barely process what was happening, she just needed to know her wife was okay—as she turned the corner, she saw a redhead wearing a pencil skirt, black heels, and a scrub top, red hair cascading over her shoulders, and a man that looked exactly like her brother chasing after her.
"MOMMA!" Charlotte screamed, squirming in Alex's arms.
Alex felt as if all the air was sucked out of her lungs, that can't be? She was shot...I'm just imagining this…this isn't…
Casey turned her head swearing she heard her daughter, sure enough—there she was, "Hi baby girl," she smiled. Casey walked over to her wife and daughter wrapping her arms around them both, Charlotte reaching out to transfer her body into Casey's arms. Alex's knee's buckled realizing she wasn't dreaming; this was real, Casey's alive, and Alex broke down into tears.
Casey tried to catch her wife's body, but her own body was still pretty weak; luckily Johnathan was there and wrapped his strong arms around both of them and Charlotte who was sandwiched between them.
"Oh Lex, I'm okay babe," Casey soothed, kissing the side of her head. She looked up and saw Emily pushing the stroller with the twins, carrying Harper on her hip and smiled at the woman who clearly helped her wife 'thank you' she mouthed.
Emily smiled and nodded, there was nothing to thank her for—that's what friends do for each other, and she'd always be there to help them: no matter what. She was happy to see the redhead; they didn't know what to expect when entering the hospital, but Emily didn't think it would be to see Casey standing there that's for sure.
Casey lifted Alex's chin so green bore into blue and kissed her, "I love you."
Alex's tears were still flowing but she was calm in her wife's presence, "I-I love y-you too."
"Momma, why are you wearin' this?" Charlotte asked, looking down at the scrub top.
"MOMMA!" Harper yelled, the distractions of the hospital gone and the site of her mother finally catching her sparkling green eyes. Casey was happy for the slight distraction from Charlotte's question while she came up with an answer.
"Hi sweet girl," Casey smiled, "And hi my little babies," she looked at the twins who were now interacting with Johnathan. Emily walked closer so Harper could see her mother and soon Casey had both girls in her arms while Alex stayed close; she had wiped her tears so the girls wouldn't see, but didn't want to move away from Casey.
"Momma why you wearin' this?" Charlotte asked again.
"Momma got her shirt dirty at work today," she said, Alex knowing there was much more to it than that but the fact that she had both girls in her arms was a good sign that she wasn't that injured, right? "But Uncle Johnathan gave me a new shirt to put on. What, do you not like it?" she teased.
Charlotte shook her head, "No it's not weally pwetty, momma."
"Oh okay, fashion police," Casey winked at Alex. "I'll change out of it as soon as we get home then deal?"
"Deal! Hey guess what?"
"What baby?" Casey asked, looking down at Charlotte but chancing a look at Alex who still looked so worried about what actually happened; Casey gave one of her signature smiles and stepped even closer to the blonde reaching out her hand so she was still able to hold the girls but touch her wife as well.
"Mommy taked me and Harps to get yogurt today!" Charlotte said.
"Ummy odurt!" Harper repeated, squealing after.
"That was supposed to be our little secret," Alex said, tickling their sides as they both started laughing in Casey's arms.
Just then Liz came rushing into the ER entrance; she had been in court during the shooting and heard from an officer there was a shooting. Liz didn't know how to feel: livid that someone didn't come get her right away, terrified for Casey, worried for Lexie and her grandbabies, angry that nobody had the answers she was looking for, and relieved when JJ appeared in front of her in saying she had Fin on standby downstairs waiting to take them to the hospital. Turns out the young blonde pulled a lot of strings to make her way into the courthouse and up to where Liz was, to which the older blonde was very thankful. JJ and Fin were on here heels but stopped near the stroller, JJ to kiss Emily and be close to her girlfriend, Fin to give the family some privacy.
"Oh honey," Liz said, seeing that Casey was okay and kissing the side of her face.
"Grandma!" Charlotte exclaimed.
"Hi my little sweet peas," she smiled, then looked at Casey, "I was so wo—" Alex held up her hand to stop her mother pointing to the girls, then made the 'zip your lips' motion. Liz understood and nodded.
"Hungee momma," Harper wined.
"I know baby, let's go home," she said, repositioning the girls on her hips and wincing a bit as her head was starting to pound from the hospital lights—they were truly the worst.
Johnathan overheard that and stood up from the twins, "Case, I'd like to—"
"I'm fine. I promise I'll rest, take some ibuprofen if needed, and take a few days off," Casey relented.
"At least a week, you need to take care of that head of yours," Johnathan said, knowing there wasn't any way he'd be able to keep her in the hospital any longer. "And if you need anything, don't hesitate."
"Do you have a boo-boo momma?" Charlotte asked.
"Yeah baby, momma got a little boo-boo at work, but I'll be okay," Casey smiled.
"I'll kiss it better momma, pomise."
"Thank you, sweet girl," Casey gave her a kiss and Harper started to whine again so Alex took her out of Casey's arms.
"Hungee," she cried.
"I know sweetie, we're going home," Alex soothed. Harper woke up early from her nap today and it was clearly effecting her—she was used to her routine, and being at a hospital wasn't part of it. Alex still wanted to talk to her brother to make sure her wife was actually okay, but if he agreed she could go home and didn't put up more of a fight, she could do that later. "How about we get some pizza?"
"IZZA!" Harper cheered through the few tears she had cried.
"Ya mommy!" Charlotte said spinning around in Casey's arms. "Can grandma and Uncle Johnifin and Emmy and JJ come too?"
Alex smiled, "Yes, they can all come, but I'm not sure if Uncle Johnathan can—his shift might not be over yet." She looked at her brother and saw she was right, "He still needs to help other people, baby."
"Otay," Charlotte said. "Maybe next time?"
"Yeah doodlebug, I'll definitely come next time," Johnathan smiled, placing a kiss to the side of her head.
They said their goodbyes, and off they went—Emily, JJ and Liz sharing a cab after Johnathan said he'd fill in Alexander on what happened knowing his meeting would be over soon, and the Novak's piled into their car. Alex took Casey's hand and wouldn't let it go the entire way home, needing some type of physical contact with the woman.
Knowing the twins wouldn't understand and the girls were in the third row, Casey spoke, "I'm okay Lex, I promise."
"I know, I just—"
"I know, honey," Casey said, giving her hand a squeeze. The car wasn't the right place to have this conversation, especially because Casey wasn't supposed to drive with her concussion. Considering Alex was now calm knowing her wife was okay, she was fine to drive—but Casey didn't want to start discussing what happened while she was driving especially with their kids in the car. "I love you."
"I love you too," Alex said.
That night they got the girls back on track after the unexpected trip to the hospital—dinner, bath time, story time, bedtime. Avery and Blayke went down without incident, Casey spending a few extra minutes with them after breastfeeding as Alex sat on the stool of the rocking chair. It was one something they never needed with Charlotte or Harper, but with the twins Casey couldn't breastfeed them both while Alex sat with her so she would sit on the stool to be close, always watching in awe. Harper was exhausted but she was clearly fighting sleep; Casey and Alex rocked her a bit longer, the blonde finally ended up reading her another story doing the trick. Charlotte took the longest, she had questions about what happened and if her momma was really okay. Since the age of two, Charlotte always sensed emotions much better than most—she was so dang smart.
"Momma's fine baby, I promise. Just a little boo-boo on my head, but you kissed it better right?" Casey said.
"Right, but how come you getted a boo-boo?" Charlotte asked, snuggled up in Casey's lap.
Casey watched as Alex held her breath, "You know how part of the job mommy and I do is to protect people?" Charlotte nodded. "Well I was protecting someone—"
Charlotte cut her off, "Like you potect me and Harps and Bwayke and Awery?"
"Yes," Casey said, hoping that would be the end of the discussion.
Charlotte wrapped her arms around Casey's neck, "Your my hewo momma."
Alex's heart melted and Casey had tears running down her face. "I love you baby," Casey said, quickly wiping her tears.
"I love you momma!"
"Okay little miss, time for bed," Alex said, unzipping her Beddy's. They were so easy the blonde was tempted to get them for their own bed, but Casey told her that wouldn't be happening—they were for the kids. Well, technically only for Charlotte right now because the other girls were in cribs, but still, there's no way they would be putting Beddy's on their bed.
Charlotte got into bed, they read her a story, gave her goodnight kisses, and then went into the master bedroom. Casey knew her wife wanted to talk more about what happened, she also knew she had 'rules' to follow regarding her concussion, but right now she really just wanted to take a bath with Alex. She had showered when they got home from the hospital to wash off all the blood that had seeped through her shirt, but Casey knew Alex needed this just as much if not more than she did.
She went into the bathroom and started to fill up the tub then put in the bath oils they loved and spun around to find Alex leaning against the bathroom doorway watching her. Casey stripped off her shirt and jeans leaving her in a bra and panties hearing Alex gasp.
"Come here," Casey husked.
Alex complied, walking over towards her wife who took her hand and then reached down to the hem of her shirt and took it off; next came her pants, then bra leaving Alex in only her panties as the redhead wrapped her arms around her pulling her close and crashing their mouths together. "Mmm" Alex's fingers unclasped Casey's bra so she could feel her wife's breasts pressed against her own.
Once the material was removed, Alex moaned—she loved every part of Casey's body, but her breasts were probably her favorite. Casey grabbed Alex's ass and squeezed the flesh, moaning into her wife's mouth as their tongues battled for dominance. Before things could get too far, Casey turned around and turned off the tub knowing it would be full enough for them to get in; she removed her own panties then pulled off Alex's placing a sweet kiss to Alex's sex before standing back up and getting into the tub extending her hand for her wife.
Alex got in as well and then they sat down, the blonde in between Casey's legs both of them sighing in the hot water. Casey's arms wrapped around Alex's waist for a few minutes, then one traveled up to cup her breast to play with a hardened nipple while the other traveled lower to spread open her sex. "Please," Alex begged.
"What do you want, Alexandra?" Casey husked in her ear.
"M-my please," she stuttered, feeling Casey's finger brush over her clit quickly. "More."
"What do you want?"
"My c-clit and i-inside," Alex said as Casey sucked on her pulse point and pinched her nipple.
Casey complied, three fingers pushing into her entrance as her palm hit her clit each thrust, "Oh god, fuck babe. Just like that," Alex moaned her hips bucking. "Mmm, fuck baby!"
"You're so tight, god I love the way your pussy feels around my fingers," Casey growled.
Alex threw her head back on Casey's shoulder and clenched around her fingers, "FUCKKK! OH YES, YES, YES! FUCK!" Casey helped her ride out her orgasm, then kissed the side of her head as she ran her fingers over her wife's body slowly reveling in the reaction Alex's body was giving her.
Alex spun around to properly kiss her wife, "I love you, Lex."
"I love you, too. So, so much! God I was so afraid I could have lost you today," the blonde said, tears welling in her eyes.
Casey loved the fact their claw foot tub was so big because she could easily move the blonde into her lap, closing her own legs, so her wife was now straddling her instead of in between them as they were chest to chest.
Casey reached up and cupped both of Alex's cheeks, "Hey, shh, shh, shh—I'm right here babe. I'm so sorry all of this happened, but I'm okay, we're okay."
The blonde nodded and Casey put her forehead against her wife's, chest against chest, placing her wife's hand against her own heart so Alex could physically feel the words she was about to say, "Can you feel my heart beating?" Alex nodded again. "I'm still here, Lex."
Casey pulled her head back and lifted Alex's chin so green bore into blue, "I'm so sorry I scared you—but I couldn't watch a little boy die in front of me," Casey said as a single tear escaped.
Alex wiped it away and gave her a kiss, "I know baby, and I'm so proud of you—" she gave her another kiss, "You saved his life. You're my hero too." They shared a few more kisses and then Alex spoke again.
"I was just—this is Johnathan's fault," Alex laughed. "The way he explains things, or doesn't explain things I should say…I obviously would have panicked, but if he started off by saying you're fine, or something along those lines…"
Casey tipped her head to the side knowing any way Johnathan phrased it would have ended in her wife hanging up—that being said, mentioning the word shooting before saying 'Casey's fine' wasn't a good idea. She felt badly for not asking for Johnathan's phone herself, but her head was still pounding at the time and she wasn't thinking clearly; anyway, what's done is done: Casey is fine, Alex is fine, the girls are fine. Everyone is safe, and they will all be okay. All is right again in the Novak home.
Alex was watching the way her wife was looking at her and smiled, "Okay you're right, I would have hung up on him either way. That's besides the point."
Casey laughed and wrapped her arms around Alex's body pulling her close, "You're so cute."
Alex blushed and looked down at the space between them, she saw Casey's naked body and her arousal grew again but closed her eyes to fight her urges knowing her wife has a severe concussion and it's not safe for her health right now.
"It's okay to look, even touch," Casey winked.
Alex groaned, "Don't tempt me; if only I'd be able to stop myself once I got started."
Casey laughed, "You wouldn't hear me complaining. Come on, let's get out of here the water's getting a bit chilly."
Alex stood up and got out of the tub to get some towels, as she spun around saw Casey standing there in front of her completely naked oh my god, my wife is so fucking sexy.
"See something you like?" Casey asked, eyebrow arched.
Alex chucked a towel at her and stormed into the bedroom huffing knowing she couldn't have what she wanted, leaving Casey there shaking her head. This is going to be a long three days.
