Syrena was a unicorn with a standard white coat and an iridescent horn. She couldn't get over that the world called Luster was changing, and not in a best way possible. In fact, she hadn't planned on Cara Diana Hunter and her pal Lightfoot were become closer than Syrena would have liked.
Too close, in fact, almost as if they were in a relationship… oh my! No, no, no, no, NO! Syrena would not allow it!
"Stay away from her!" Syrena said, charging forward. She moved fast to back Cara up, away from Lightfoot. "What are you doing with him?" Syrena spoke crossly with Cara. She had enough of this rampant disproportionate behavior.
"Get off me! Get off! Lightfoot!" Cara said, tearing past Syrena and squishing up to Lightfoot.
Syrena huffed. She couldn't believe this. Cara and Lightfoot were… kissing? Lightfoot was becoming human and Cara was still a unicorn? What sort of crazy world was this?
"Humph. Well, if that's how you two are going to be, then I have no need to…" Syrena was sorely interrupted by Cara's grandmother, a unicorn, who intervened.
"Stop this right now!" Cara's grandmother stated.
Syrena snorted, laughing joyously. "Finally, someone who's on my side!"
"Come my darling," Cara's grandmother spoke, her voice timid and shy. "Tell me everything!" Only it didn't sound timid and shy to Syrena. It sounded more foreboding and prouder.
Oh, Syrena did not enjoy this one bit!
"Oh, you're all hopeless. Now where…" Syrena looked at Springdale's valley. There was an Oriental Cat dragging a white cat across the terrain. Huh. That was weird. It was as if this cat knew what she was doing, or not.
Oh my! Oh dear, oh dear! Whatever was Syrena to do?
"Hmm… what are you up to?" Syrena said, abandoning Cara and Lightfoot's love fest for something more tragic.
.
By the time Syrena caught up to the Oriental Cat, she recognized her. After all these years, Syrena recognized this cat. It was no wonder she looked so familiar! This was the same Oriental Cat that helped start up the Long Series! How could Syrena forget!
"Seraphina! Sera, is that you?" Syrena stated, getting the Oriental Cat's attention.
"Uh oh! Oh boy! No, not you!" Seraphina said, backing away.
"Sera, who is this?" the white cat spoke in a rather familiar voice.
Syrena looked at the white cat now. She recognized those eyes anywhere. It was Tohru Honda, but Syrena knew her better. "Bertha! I know you're Tohru Honda now, but you are Bertha… you're the girl who started this series up!"
"Eeek! Who are you?" Tohru stated, bewildered.
Sera huffed, saying to her, "Now, come on Tohru. We've got to get moving." She turned to Syrena, telling her, "Now look, Syrena. I know this sounds complicated, but I just…"
"NO! She is Bertha! I know her anywhere," Syrena stated, remembering her now. "I think she is a past version of you, Tohru."
"Oka-ha-hay!" Sera said in a sing-song voice. She turned to Tohru, telling her, "Come on, Tohru. Let's go." She grabbed Tohru's paw before another word was spoken.
