Chapter 7 - Bella

The morning dawned early and warm. Last nights temperature hadn't dropped at all, continuing its swelter into the next day, like one continued fever.

Bella usually enjoyed the heat, though not expected it from Forks. The warmth could not endure for much longer here, this surely was a last force of heat before the cold months descended.

Bella dreaded them. She would miss her loose summer outfits that she wore all year round in Phoenix. Brightly painted nails and delicate jewellery that seemed out of place in freezing Forks. She would enjoy this while it lasted. Like a warm bath.

The heat had driven her out of bed early. She had happily watched the sunrise over the forest through her bedroom window with a cup of tea in hand.

Ditching school wasn't normally a decision she took lightly, but today she needed to feel free.

As Bella drove to Port Angeles in her 1963 Chevy Step Side C-10 Pickup, the early sun was shining beautifully.

She wore a small tank top that didn't leave much to the imagination, tight black jeans, her normal boots and as much jewellery as she wanted. She felt mature, like an adult stuck in a teenagers body, but she supposed she had felt this way her whole life.

Feeling alive and free made her miss Phoenix, and her mother. Renee was an adventurous spirit, and Bella felt like her today. The drive to Port Angeles was calming, though ditching school was exciting.

Her thoughts kept returning to the afternoon Bella had spent with Embry. The intimate glances they shared over hot chocolate with blushing cheeks, the passionate oral sex he had provided her.

Embry was an attentive lover.

Truly romantic.

Bella kicked herself. How had she not gotten his number? The thought hadn't occurred to her at the time. Now what would she do? Wait to run in to him? She supposed she could ask Jacob for the number... But something stopped her. She was a very private person. Jacob didn't need to know about her and Embry. What even were they? Probably just a one night stand. This idea made Bella's heart sink.

As she continued driving to Port Angeles, excited for a visit to the bookshop, she resigned that waiting to run into Embry was all she could do.

She just hoped he wanted to run into her too.

Quill had gotten to the Quileute Reservation High School early this morning, so much for sleeping in. He was now in a toilet stall, having a private moment that he needed.

He was exploring shameful thoughts about Jessica Stanley.

Again.

Jessica was a confidently sexual women. She had been with many men. Quill knew all about this, hell, the whole town knew...

So why did Quill feel so ashamed to be stroking himself while thinking about her body?

Her brown hair is so lustrous, her body so perfectly beautiful. She was radiant and kind... well, kind sometimes. Not exactly kind to Quill, but he had witnessed her kindness directed at other people.

He pulled himself to orgasm thinking about Jessica's ass in tight jeans.

The cum landed onto the toilet seat.

It wasn't the best orgasm he had ever experienced. But it was something, he supposed.

Cleaning up was gross.

Quill zipped up his fly, exiting the toilet stall and wandered to his first class.

Biology was the most boring subject that existed in Quill's opinion, apart from maths maybe.

He wandered over to his lab partners desk. Embry was already preparing slides for the microscope. A plant called elodea. They were trying to witness an in life example of cytoplasmic streaming. Quill still had no damn clue what they were looking for... or how to prepare the slides.

"Sup Embry." Greeted Quill,
"Hey man, How's it going." Embry replied. The teacher began speaking about boring biological concepts.

"I've been meaning to ask you" Said Embry quietly, "Do you think I should ask Bella out? Like out on a proper date?"
"Yeah, why not? She's pretty hot, you should shoot your shot before some other guy gets in. I heard that dude Eric from the other high school is interested in her. You should get in first." Replied Quill. "If I were you, I would ask her as soon as possible."
"Yeah you're right. You don't have her mobile number do you?" Asked Embry
"Wait a minute... you don't even have her number!" Exclaimed Quill, way too loudly. He elicited a hard look from the teacher, and glances from surrounding lab tables.
"How have you been talking to her then? An app or something?" Questioned Quill.

Embry suddenly realised that he might be a idiot.

"Well... I kind of.. haven't spoken to her since..." Embry hesitated in meeting Quill's eye.

Of course he was an idiot. How could he have let this slide! He had the hottest sex in his life, with the hottest chick. How the hell hadn't he followed up?

"Oh my god, Embry. You are such an idiot." Quill pronounced, in a surprisingly quiet register. "Wait.. You are interested in her right.. I mean.. You're not gay like Jake... are you?"
"No, Quill, of course I'm not gay... but I can't pretend like I have stuffed this up. Maybe she feels rejected by me now?"
"It's ok. We can fix this." Stated Quill confidently.

Quill grabbed out his phone, ignoring the teacher telling him to pay attention. He texted Jake. He would have Bella's number for sure, and Embry would be able to ask her out.

Quill was quite a passionate romantic. He would do anything in his power to keep his best friends romantic lives on track. Maybe this was because he had such little hope for his own. Why couldn't he crush on a girl that was easily attainable for once?
