"Love is an odd feeling. It is suffocating and so intense, yet...so warm and so soothing."

"I love you, Rin."

Rin stared at her bedroom ceiling, dumbfounded and flabbergasted.

Those three simple words...brought so many emotions in her heart that she couldn't control.

Rin grasped her nearby pillow from her bed, and suffocated herself in it. She suddenly felt the urge to call Gumi, but she then sadly remembered the situation the two best friends were currently in.

Once Mikuo had said those heart-fluttering words, he had asked her if she was alright, and if he could go back to his place. Rin had told him yes, and that she was going to be alright by herself. He had simply pecked her on the cheek before leaving her house.

She placed a palm on her face, and her cheek was still warm from his shy kiss.

Rin didn't know why she felt like she was floating on fluffy clouds whenever she was near him, she just wanted to hug his handsome figure and shower him with all the love that was stuffed inside her fluttering heart. She wanted to be by his side at all times, no matter the situation. Every time he touched her lightly or barely, or whenever she was near him, she felt a warm and fuzzy feeling inside her chest.

"Aha.." Rin laughed nervously as she covered her reddened face with her slender palms, "Shit..."

I think I'm in love with him.

[Kurohana Highschool]
The Next Day

Miku silently entered the classroom to see Gumi, who was staring at the nearby window that was being pattered with slender drops of rain, each one representing a small, luscious greeting.

"Oh, hi Miku-chan..!" Gumi says as the tealette gracefully wanders to her desk, her notebooks being embraced by her embrace. "Hey, Gumi-chan!" Miku grins as she begins to stuff her notebooks inside her desk, and grabs her bag that was sitting next to the leg of the table. "Have you seen Len-kun?" Miku asks gently as she zipped up her bag and threw it upon her shoulders. "Len..?"

Gumi thought for a moment. "Oh, yeah! I saw him heading to the-"

Miku's head tilted in confusion as she watched Gumi cut her own sentence off. Suddenly, Gumi's warm hopeful eyes were coated with fear and horror, and her bottom lip began to tremble. "I-I saw him..heading to..." She swallowed.

"The school rooftop."

Miku froze on the spot.

It was deadly silent for a while.

Miku didn't say a single word as she slowly took off her backpack and calmly hung it over the dull surface of her desk's chair. While she wandered her gaze away from Gumi, she zipped out of the classroom, ignoring Gumi's yells.

Her legs ached with pain while she ran endlessly in the monochrome empty hallways. Her stomach churned with fear, terrified about what was going to happen if she didn't make it to the last floor on time. She tripped, but she bore with the pain and continued running, and after minutes that felt like hours, she finally managed to get to her desired destination.

The school rooftop.

Miku stood there, breathing heavily as she let the pouring cold rain wash over her crumbling figure. Her turquoise eyes widened with horror as she saw Len's depressed figure, his body facing the edge of the roof.

His dull, baby blue eyes traced the deadly height. He looked at the wandering people covered by their black and gray umbrellas, and his eyes hopped onto the rushing cars, lights illuminating the sad atmosphere of the city.

Seconds later, Miku let out a frail sob as he let himself fall, but he still kept his grip on the edge of the wet cement.

No.

Miku's body moved on its own accord, her shoes splashed against the tiny puddles that were formed on the slippery floor. Her legs ached in pain, and her chest hurt from running so, so much, but that didn't make her stop.

"YOU IDIOT!"

The tealette screams as she squeezes his wrist, her fingers trembling against his own as she pours her entire strength into her tiny grasp.

"Wh-wha-"

Miku sobbed uncontrollably, she couldn't tell the difference between her salty tears or the throbbing rain that showered over their depressed figures. "What the hell do you think you're doing!?" She sobbed uncontrollably, "I know life sucks but don't leave me! Why are you going to leave everything behind!? Your sister, your friends, and me! Your girlfriend!" Miku yelled, the cold rain hitting her hurt expression. "You deserve to be happy, you need to go out for teriyaki with your family and friends, and date me!" The teal-haired girl says.

Miku pulled his drenched figure up, and the two sat on the cold surface of the wet rooftop, and sniffled a bit. For a minute, Len stared at her, and began laughing. Miku threw daggers at him, and glared at him murderously. "Why are you laughing!?" She yelled, sobbing uncontrollably. "Pfft- sorry, sorry..It's just..I didn't know you cared about me so much." He chuckles, wiping his face from the rain, and a couple of tears.

Miku was able to muster a smile, and she wiped her sobbing eyes.

"Obviously..." She mumbled, "I love you."

Len's lips formed into a cheesy smile.

"I love you too."

9:09 PM
[Kagamine Residence]

"So uh...You sure you wanna stay at my place?" Len asks the tealette who was standing beside him, a couple of bags huddled near her on the sidewalk as they both dramatically stared at the door like a helpless doggy waiting for its owner. "Yeah." The two teens entered the house, greeting the empty silence as they walked in. Miku removed her shoes, placing them down on the welcome mat as she strutted into the living room. "Finally, we're here.." Len sighed.

"This place is cozy..." Miku giggles, flopping herself on the sofa as Len joins her. "I guess so," He snickers, but then gazes at her with a worried look. "Hey, did...something happen between you and Luka?" He asked, hesitation gleaming in his eyes.

Miku froze, immediately turning away from him. "...Yeah." she quietly spoke, her turquoise eyes sending bolts of anger. "She um..." She sighs in exhortation.

It wasn't until Miku began to cry, which caught the attention of Rin's ears.

Rin carefully peeked through the small gap of her door, and her eyes widened immediately once she caught a glimpse of Miku crying uncontrollably in Len's arms.

"...She told me she was pregnant and that she wants me to move out..!" Miku sobs, hiccups taking over her voice as she buries her face in the crook of the blonde male's neck. "...I don't want to live out in the streets again, I don't even know what to do to survive..!" The tealette wails, sniffling slightly as she wiped her eyes.

Len flinched.

Rin froze.

Wait...Luka's...pregnant!?

Len hesitated, he really didn't know what to say. "Hey, hey...Calm down, it's okay, Miku. It's gonna be okay." Len soothes her as he strokes her back gently. "I'm sure we'll figure something out, okay?" He says gently, patting the girl's head. "Yeah," Miku sniffles as she pulls back from his warm hug, wiping her eyes.

"Yeah, okay." Miku nodded in agreement, sniffling again. "Everything's gonna be fine, okay? You can stay with me and...Rin, in the meantime." Len says, biting his lip in an anxious manner, he didn't know what to do.

Rin carefully crept out of her room, the floor creaking as she stepped into the living room with bare feet. "...Hey, um...Len, Miku." She peeped awkwardly, fidgeting with her fingers. Miku greeted her with an awkward yet gentle smile, but Len didn't even spare a glance at his sister.

Ah, so he's still upset with me. Can't blame him though. I've been treating him like crap lately.

What kind of freaking sister am I..?

Rin sat beside them, speechless.

"...Hey um...Miku?" Len says in order to kill the awkwardness, "Did...did you want to stay in my room? I-I mean if you want to...I totally understand if-" Rin began whispering to Miku's ear, her breath brushing against her milky skin, "No, stay with me. He's a pervert anyway, you shouldn't trust him." Rin responded, making Miku giggle.

Len rolled his eyes in reply, "I heard that." Miku shook her head, then smiled politely. "I'm fine, really. I think I'll just stick with sleeping on the couch for now." The tealette respectfully declined, nodding in thanks.

Len sighed exhaustingly in response, "Okay. I'm gonna go shower then, goodnight." He ruffles Miku's hair as he leaves the two females alone in the living room. "Goodnight," Miku smiled gently before facing the small female beside her with a soft gleam in her turquoise eyes. "Sigh."

Rin awkwardly fidgeted in the dead silence of the living room, then sighed in exhaustion.

Miku stared at the wooden floor.

"Hey. I get it if you're mad at me." Rin muttered suddenly, her cheeks reddening. She wasn't used to confronting someone she barely knew, especially when she had a falling out with them. "Honestly, I can't even blame you. I treated you terribly, and-"

Miku hastily hugged the blonde-haired girl, clasping her tightly as Rin froze.

Rin wasn't used to this type of atmosphere. It felt suffocating and ethereal. Miku had a soft scent to her and the feeling made her feel all warm and fuzzy. Miku smelled like gentle flower petals and a pink, feminine fragrance along with a hint of her sweet natural scent.

"Don't apologize." Her sweet, soft tone made Rin's knees go weak, like ice cream melting helplessly. "What happened wasn't your fault, okay?" She says quietly, pulling back from the hug with a smile. "Things happen, and you have to get those things off your chest, anyway." Miku smiles, her gaze warm.

Rin swallowed nervously, guilt churning in her stomach. She was so shocked at how Miku could forgive her so easily. "U-uh huh." Rin reddened with embarrassment, standing up from the couch before walking to her bedroom.

She came out of her little burrow with a bunch of throw pillows and blankets and flopped them on the arm of the gray sofa. "Ugh, I can't believe Len forgot to give you those," Rin muttered, making Miku giggle. "Thanks, Rin." She smiles, huddling inside the blanket as she adjusts the pillow beside her head. "Goodnight." She whispers, shutting her eyes.

"Um...G-goodnight." Rin peeped, forcing a smile towards the tealette before shutting her door closed.

She gazed at her door for a slight second, and the only words that were floating in her head were...why?

How could someone like Miku forgive her for all the things that she had done? She treated her like trash, and assumed all these horrible things about her, so...why?

Why would someone like me be forgiven for all the crap that I've done?

A couple of years before

Rin stared at her bedroom ceiling, her bored blue eyes scanning the naked blank upper wall. The hypnotizing sound of the clock filled the dead silence lingering in the tense atmosphere.

"So bored..." She was able to muster, and a tiny annoyed groan filled the air. "Ugh."

"Hey, Rin," Len suddenly burst open the door, staring at his slumped sister, who was huddled over the bedsheets, the scene on her bed made him sigh in frustration. "Come on, mom and dad are waiting for us in the living room." He shuffled over to his sister's bed and pulled her slender arm as he gently dragged her out of the gray-colored mattress. "Okay, okay! I'm coming, jeez." Rin muttered, which Len laughed in response, then ruffled her blonde messy hair. "Sorry." She grumbles, sighing in exhaustion as she stuffed her hands in her black jeans. "What are they even planning to tell us this time?"

Len shrugged. "I dunno. I heard it's important, though. But other than that I have no clue." The male sighs as the two lazy teenagers begin to walk out of Rin's bedroom. "I swear, if they're going to scold us because of us skipping school for a whole day that one time then I'm throwing a tantrum," Rin says casually, grumbling.

Len only laughed.

They had made their way into the living room, where their parents were sitting on one of the luxurious vanilla-colored sofas.

However, their father wasn't sitting beside their mother.

Instead, he was talking and laughing with another woman beside him, her crimson hair dimmed with the warm scented light.

...Chizuru? What is she doing here?

Another woman was sitting beside their mother, scrolling through her cellphone anxiously while she tapped her feet on the floor, muttering some words underneath her shaking breath. The brunette then sighed in exhaustion and adjusted her brunette locks, before biting her red ravishing lips.

Meiko..?

The atmosphere in the room was gloomy and tense, Rin didn't like the feeling once she had made anxious eye contact with her parents.

"Hey, we're here. Oh, hey Mei-chan!" Len grinned, but his grin went away once he saw his father talking with Chizuru beside him.

Sitting on another elegant couch that was across from his parents, he patted a hand beside him, gesturing Rin to sit next to her brother. And so she did, and fidgeted with her fingers anxiously. Her stomach churned helplessly and she felt like something bad was about to happen.

"...Um..hi." Rin was able to mumble, yet she felt nervous. "Um..mom..why is Chizuru here?" The blonde female asks her mother, her cold blue eyes fuming with anger. "You'll see in a minute." Meiko snarled, throwing a deadly glare towards their father.

Why was Meiko so upset? Did their father do something wrong? Did he get drunk again and accidentally hurt their mother? What was going on? She was so confused, and her lazy spirit was fluttering helplessly in the air with searing anxiety and trembling fear.

"Just wait, RinRin." Her mother reassures her with a forced smile.

Why does mom look so sad?

The father sighed in frustration as loud as he could and sat up straight as his co-worker did the same. "I'm just gonna get straight to the point." He grumbled, rubbing his temple in annoyance as he glared at the teenagers sitting curiously in one of the sofas. "Rin, Len." He says in a stern tone, before grabbing a glass of wine from the glass table beside him, then sighed. "Uh...yeah?"

"I'm filing a divorce with your mother."

Rin and Len stiffened.

No.

No.

No.

"Hold up," Len chuckled nervously as he ran a hand down his face, he was slowly starting to get pissed yet he didn't want to let it show.

"You're...kidding, right? Why the hell are you guys.." Len sighed in frustration as he shut his eyes tightly and rubbed his temple before pinching his nose bridge. Open, shut. Open, shut. He was trying to control his anger, and the small snickers of Chizuru clearly weren't helping. "Why the hell are you getting divorced?!" He yelled, standing.

"Things just haven't been working out with your mother and I lately." His father states, sipping the bitter sensation of his cindered wine, then begins smacking his lips in response. "It's really not that hard to accept, kid." His father casually says, shaking his head as he continues to drink more.

"Honey, please..." Their mother silently whispered, tears building up near the edges of her blue eyes. "...Don't..do this to me." She held back her tears, shutting her eyes tightly as Meiko attempted to console her by rubbing her back soothingly. "I love you, please don't leave me..."

It was deadly silent for a while, until Meiko had begun to speak.

"Your father has been having an affair with Chizuru."

What.

The man flirting with Chizuru whipped his head towards the scowling brunette, and glared at her murderously as daggers shot from his fuming angered eyes. "What? I thought we agreed to not tell the kids, what the hell?" Chizuru gently stroked his shoulder, and began to kiss his nape, now that they were exposed it didn't really matter hiding their relationship. She could care less.

Meiko scoffed, and sighed. "What, you really think we're going to agree to some bullshit excuse of yours? They clearly see that Chizuru is here, wearing fucking revealing clothes, and is being all cuddly with you. Oh yeah, it's totally fine. They're totally not going to get the wrong idea."

This made Len even more pissed.

Rin suddenly felt a boiling anger bubble inside of her as she murderously glared at the drunk man sitting across from them, she didn't care if he was her father or not, she so desperately hated him now. How could he do something so terrible? So damaging, and so heartbreaking?

"What.." Len breathes, laughing silently as he tries to process his fuming anger.

He clearly wasn't expecting this. How could he do something so heart wrenching to his girlfriend and to his kids? Not to mention that he was seeing Chizuru, a well-good friend of their mother's.

"What the actual fuck. You didn't want to tell us!?" He yelled, his tone was stern and serious. "...Dude..."

"...It's really not that hard to accept, kid. Relax." His father said.

"Father," Rin slurs the word with a bitter tone, "I would really like it if you could stop being a jerk for once." She forced a smile, then snarled. "Don't talk to Len like that, learn some manners." Len stared at Rin, speechless.

Boy, has she really changed since we started high school.

"Kagamine Erin, don't talk to your father like that!" Her mother scolded her as she walked up to the blonde-haired female, and hit her shoulder.

"Apologize. Now." She pointed to the man, but Rin didn't say anything. "Why should I? He isn't my father anymore." She mumbled, "That asshole cheated on you for God's sake, fuck his ass!" Rin yelled, scoffing at her mother relentlessly, and then growled.

"Hey, hey, what the hell did you just call me?" The man says.

Meiko gaped at Rin's response. "Rin-"

"You heard me, asshole," Rin snarled and glared at him, standing up suddenly and stomping in front of her father's half-drunk, half-sober figure. "You're not deaf are you?" Rin spared a glare towards her so-called father before the man unexpectedly stood up.

"Alright, listen here, you little brat." He snarled, grasping the female's shirt, and pulled her close to his face, ignoring Meiko and Len's yells that rang in the background effortlessly. Rin held in her breath, she hated the scent of alcohol, it was intoxicating.

"You really think you're such a smartass, huh?" The man sneered, smiling eerily. "You think calling me out towards your mom is gonna make her want to divorce me? Don't make me laugh."

"Keep your fucking filthy hands off my sister," Len grasped Rin's shoulder, pushing her back a bit as he snarled.

Their father scoffed in response. "Yeah okay, I'll admit. I might have been cheating on her this whole time."

"Probably even before you kids were born."

Rin and Len froze.

Meiko dropped her cup of wine onto the floor, the glass shattering into pieces.

"...What the fuck did you just fucking say?" Her voice was low, and her hazel eyes were boiling with fuming anger, she cracked her knuckles, and she was about to punch him but Rin and Len's mother stopped her before she could do anything. "Meiko, don't. Please, calm down." The mother sobbed.

The man scoffed again, sneering as he sipped the intoxicating liquid of the crimson wine. Rin snarled under her breath. "You're a monster." She growled quietly, glaring at her father. "An ugly, filthy fucking monster. We don't deserve to call you our father." She whispered, her breath heavy. The man laughed, "Do whatever you want, kid. But you're not getting rid of me so easily. Your mom needs me to survive. Otherwise, you would have been out in the streets by now." He smirks smugly while scoffing. "Your mom doesn't know how to do things around here." He sighs.

Meiko snarled. Rin grasped the edge of her sleeve, pinching it with her thumb. Blood boiled in her veins while adrenaline coursed through her body. "I would rather be in the streets than live in the same house with you, you ugly bastard!" The man clenched his teeth. "Watch your tone young lady," he grins eerily as he grips on the girl's hair tightly, making her wince and flinch.

"Ah!" Chizuru gasped as she pulled back her boyfriend, "Babe! I know you don't like your kids, but stop hurting them!" The redhead whines, "It's rude to talk to the man who helped your mother make you and your brother." He let go of her, and realized that Rin was crying helplessly.

"Why...you l-loved mom, right...?" Rin shuddered, and the tone of her voice made their mother's heart hurt. "...We were all a..h-happy family, r-right..?" She sobs, her soft weeps filling the silence. "Tch," he slightly laughed. "God...This is why women are so easy to play with. They're weak and brainless."

He sighed in satisfaction, sipping his bitter liquid. "Um..you don't mean me too, right baby?" Chizuru asked, her eyes narrowing.

"Baby?" She says again, but the man doesn't reply.

Rin snarls. "I hate you." She says quietly, sobbing. "I hate you so, so much."

The man doesn't bother saying anything in return, and instead smiles devilishly at the blonde female.

"Does it look like I care?"
