warning: suicide and strong language.

6:49 AM

Rin stared at the ceiling, her azure eyes drained out of energy.

Her eyelids were a light shade of delicate pink, rosy hues of tender sleepiness and slight exhaustion. "Urgh.." Rin groaned in annoyance as she rolled over to the other side, huddling for warmth. However, to her surprise, the other side of the bed felt cold and...empty.

Where the heck is the other blanket..?

Rin arose from her comfortable bed, her body slightly aching with the gentle impact in her hands as she pressed her palms against the ivory-colored mattress. The female looked around the room for a while, taking in the view of this peaceful morning. It was lovely, yet a bit too early for her liking.

"Mm...I'm going back to sleep." Rin grumbled as she flopped her head back onto the pillow, staring at the ceiling for a couple of seconds. It wasn't until the corner of her azure eyes had caught a glimpse of...a note?

Her face scrunched in confusion, but she hastily slid off from her bed as she lazily walked over to her desk, unfolding the note as her sleepy gaze fell onto the engraving of it.

Hello.

If you are reading this, then I'm probably dead at this point. But that's fine because I'm happy. I'll be happy once the pain is away. That's all I wanted to say. Don't look for me. I don't want to live anymore. I don't even know what living is. I just feel hopeless. So this is one way to end this pain. Other than that I...Tell everyone that I love them and that I'm sorry, okay?

- Miku

No.

Nononononononono.

"Shit..oh shit..oh no. Oh shit-"

Rin burst open her bedroom door, and to her surprise, her brother was pacing around the living room, running his slender fingers through his blond hair as he murmured curse words under his breath."Dude, why- oh, hang on...I'll call you back." He sighed in frustration as he hung up the call, then stuffed his phone inside his pocket, reclining against the living room couch. "Hey-"

Rin had ignored his usual morning greeting, sprinting towards her shoes that were sloppily placed on the living room floor, "Len, where the hell is Miku?" Rin says without hesitation, she just wanted to get straight to the point. Heck, she didn't even care if he didn't respond to her question, she just wanted Miku to come home safe. "I'm trying to figure that out right now. I don't know where the hell she is!" Len yelled, cursing under his breath some more.

Rin had finally put her shoes on, and ran back to her bedroom, tripping over a couple of shirts and pants that had been rustled on the floor. "Shit, I really need to clean my room.." She silently cursed under her breath, grasping a beige hoodie along with a container of pills, stuffing it inside her pockets.

I'll need these later...If she really is...

"Goddamnit." Len sighs as Rin crept out of her room. He began biting his nails before running his hands through his hair. "Len...I think...I think she.."

Her sentence trailed off as she bit her bottom lip, tears filling in the corners of her pale blue eyes. "I think she's attempting suicide."

Rin's voice was silent and fragile, like a vase breaking into pieces with its tender flowers falling onto the floor so gracefully.

"What?" His voice is gnarled, his anger barely restrained as he bites his bottom lip, teeth digging harshly into his crimson-colored flesh. "What the hell do you mean she- Stop joking. This isn't fucking funny and you know it." He growls.

Rin blinked.

What?

"What the fu.." Her sentence trailed off as she let out an exasperated breath of fuming anger, her blood throbbing in her veins. "What the hell...You think I'm fucking joking?! What type of fucking hypocrite are you?!" Rin yelled out, her raspy voice ringing in his pulsing eardrums. "Why the fuck would I joke about something so fucking serious?!"

Len scoffs at her reply.

"Because, you said it yourself,"

"You hate her."

Rin froze.

She didn't say anything after that. It was true that she had grown some sort of hatred towards the tealette, since she kept clinging onto her brother like a leech, but that was in the past. All the fear and jealousy she had felt towards Miku was gone.

"Yeah, well.." Rin bit her lip. "I don't...anymore."

It was silent again.

"If you don't believe me, look at this for yourself, you asshole." Rin snarled under her breath. She shuffled inside her pockets, swiftly taking out the note and adjusting it in front of his face. Len stared at the handwriting in front of it, his nose scrunched up in confusion. "What the hell is this?" Len murmured, shoving away his sister's hand from his view as he faced Rin's expression with a hard baby blue gaze.

"..It's her writing, not mine. Hers is prettier." She grumbled under her breath as a redness crept onto her face, probably from embarrassment, and she ran towards the living room, pulling open the door with a harsh force before slamming it shut.

Len stared at the note.

Oh shit. She wasn't lying. Miku's handwriting is really pretty- wait.

Oh no.

Rin didn't even bother saying anything towards her brother, she was only focused on her main goal.

Find Miku and take her home, safe and sound.

Rin stared at the gray sky as she ran hastily, her legs hand began to ache but that didn't stop her from running towards the nearby street. As she ran, her dirty blonde hair flew in her face, the soft gentle rain had caressed her pale skin, and the wind flowed through her aching legs.

It felt...oddly comforting.

It was as if she was running towards something she wanted to achieve so badly, something that she had yearned to have after centuries of waiting. It was like the running was all her hard work, and her main goal was what she wanted to have after so long.

Yeah...that's right.

She's the one in the dark, her running is all the hard work and all the pain she had been through, and Miku is the one who will help her find her way to the light.

Light.

Happiness.

That's why she can't bear to lose her. She can't imagine her life without Miku, heck, she can't imagine her life without anyone by her side.

Rin can't be alone. She just can't.

After a couple of minutes of running, she had finally made it.

The ocean.

And in that ocean, she saw a young, small female with hair the color of turquoise water, her body silently sitting down on the edge of a monotone-colored rock. Rin pinched herself to make sure she wasn't dreaming. She couldn't believe—no, she refused to believe Miku was sitting there, beautiful cyan eyes delicately staring at the roaring waves of the ocean.

"MIKU!"

Rin yelled, clumsily running towards Miku's peaceful figure. She fell onto the sand once, twice, but that didn't stop her from running towards her, she was too determined to get her home safe.

And now, she was kneeling down in front of her, ugly crying and sobbing uncontrollably as snot had crept out of her smudged nose. Her face was covered in bitter tears and sand, her cheeks were boiling red with anger and sadness.

"Miku.." Rin sobs, her voice hoarse and dry as if she had been pouring salt on her throat for endless centuries. "Miku..you're...you.." She was breathless at this point, she still couldn't believe that Miku was surprisingly alive.

The blonde had glanced up towards the tealette, staring silently at the female's pale face as she continued to cry and cry.

"Rin-chan," Miku whispers, her voice so frickin' gentle and so, so soft. "What the hell were you thinking?!" Rin yelled out, her hoarse voice ringing helplessly in Miku's throbbing ears as it blended in with the calming sound of the ocean waves. "You had me and Len worried sick. Seriously, I-"

Her sentence was abruptly cut off once Miku had stood up and wrapped her arms around her trembling figure, hugging her tightly. Rin didn't even know why she was shaking so much, the thought of losing Miku haunted her so effortlessly.

"I know," Miku whispers. "I know and I'm sorry."

Rin angrily scoffs at this, yet laughs between her sorrowful cries. "No you don't." The female shakily whispers, her breath tense and erratic as she hugs the tealette back, burying her face in her shoulder. You don't know, and you're not sorry." Her voice is slightly muffled, yet Miku seems to understand what she was saying.

Miku smiles as a tear had slid down her eye.

Surprisingly, she wasn't crying as much as Rin was. She wasn't sad either, no. She was shaken and frightened at the fact that she had nearly tried to kill herself. It was so scary and so frightening.

"I tried doing it, you know," Miku says in her usual cheerful tone as she pats Rin's back. "I jumped in, and let the water just get inside my body. Before I knew it, I saw it. I saw light through the water, but I couldn't tell if it was the sun or not. Then it occurred to me that I was afraid of dying. Before I knew it, I started to drown." The tealette continues, still patting Rin's trembling back. "Then, an old lady stopped by and found me. She helped me out of the water, and told me not to ever do that again."

An old lady huh...Sounds familiar.

Rin was surprised at how calm Miku was being.

Sure, her eyes were widened with fear, and no emotion was shown in them, yet she couldn't tell if Miku was scared of the fact that she was about to die or she just accepted the fact that she had to move on and live with her screwed up life.

"Then she offered me some clothes, and I changed in one of the bathrooms around here."

Rin sniffled as she pulled back from the hug, her body still trembling uncontrollably.

Miku somehow managed to smile, her teeth glimmering brightly in the gray-colored sun and her eyes flickering with happiness.

"I'm probably gonna go to the doctor after this. You should take those therapy sessions too, I think they'll help." Miku was still smiling as she said that, she didn't even think much of the situation, nor had a problem with it. "You seriously are okay with telling a literal stranger about your personal problems?" Rin questions, her eyebrows scrunched in confusion. "Well, yeah," Miku says as she digs inside the sand with her shoe, the small dent then being filled up with bubbling water. "It does seem kinda weird when you put it that way, but it all comes from perspective. I just care about getting better." She smiles again, staring silently at Rin's shocked face.

"In the end, that's all that matters," Miku states as she walks towards the rock she had been sitting in earlier, patting the empty side beside her. "Come, sit down." The tealette smiles as Rin hesitantly scoop down the space, then stared at the beautiful ocean waves.

Even the ocean breeze feels hot on these sultry days. Standing on the sand with salty waves engulfing bare toes reminds more of opening an oven on a scorching day than standing by the shore.

"Everything will be okay."

Rin glanced towards the female that was sitting beside her, then blinked twice.

"What?"

"Everything is gonna be fine in the end. Sure, life may suck now, but you sometimes gotta do something about it and push yourself to make it happen." Miku says in a sentimental tone, her eyes glimmering with the tiniest hint of wisdom.

Rin stared at the sultry ocean waves, her baby blue eyes gleaming with the orange hues of the burning sun. She had thought about what Miku had said the other day, about seeing the little and beautiful things in life.

This was it.

Seeing the beautiful blue ocean waves and the orange sun between her eyes, and the tan-colored sand in her toes...

It fueled her with enough spirit to finally, and truly believe that everything will be okay.

"So then, shall we go?" Miku glanced over to the female beside her, a warm sunny smile painted on her pale face. "Yeah." Rin grinned in response, the tears from her eyes washed away from happiness.

"Let's go home."

Fin.
