Okay this one was so much fun. I think we could all use something a bit more lighthearted after all of this friggen angst.

Bruno had never been lucky with love. Well….he'd never been lucky with anything so of course he wouldn't have good fortune at that either. It could be depressing to say the least. He wanted a family. He wanted children. He loved, adored children. He couldn't help it. The little ones were just so cute, innocent, said the most adorable things, and were pretty easy to make laugh and pull a smile from their sad face. The older ones had the potential for a bit more chaos and oh boy did Bruno enjoy a bit of chaos. It had to be the right kind though. The kind that made people laugh, even if it might be hours later, and didn't hurt anyone.

Come to think of it maybe it was good thing he'd never have kids of his own. He was certain that he would never have that and he didn't have to look into the future to be able to see that. All he needed to do was go into the village and look at the people around him. It was something he did whenever he got his head a little too high in the clouds. Bring him back down to reality where he belongs even if it could be hard to tell where his visions ended and the real world began. Which future was he in. What time was it? It wasn't necessarily that he was absent minded, he just got a little lost in his visions sometimes. He was trying to get a handle on it but it was hard and he was pretty sure that people would get upset if he talked about it. He should have control over this.

He didn't know how to describe it all other than dizzying. Like he was spinning and spinning through futures and everything was so different but so much the same. Sometimes he'd have a vision and couldn't tell where it ended. He'd hand it over because that, at least, stayed the same but there were times where he'd spend the entire day in a fog, uncertain whether he was where he was supposed to be or not. It was beyond embarrassing and he swore he was taking that bit of information to his grave. He didn't know what was wrong with him and he really didn't want his mamá to get even more angry at him than she already was.

Even if he would never get what he wanted out of life it didn't mean he had to be bitter about it. His hermana's were doing well for themselves in that category even if Pepa's type seemed to be jerks. Very good looking men, but jerks none the less. Poor Pepa did not understand the meaning of patience and was horrible at reading people. Bruno wasn't though. He could spot a selfish, self centered person a mile away. What was worse was that she tended to lean toward men who also had a bit of a temper on them and that was a nightmare for everyone. Eventually it would end in tears because his sister was "high maintenance", "overly sensitive", and "hysterical". In Bruno's head they were all weak, simpering little babies that were upset over the fact that they couldn't control a woman and if Bruno just happened to give their future partners prophecies about them being the horrible men that they were well…..maybe they should stop being jerks to women.

His hermanas were independent and strong women and Bruno saw no problem with that but apparently other men did. He didn't understand the point of it all. If you love someone why try and make them or even ask them to change? You're supposed to love someone for who they are, not for who you want them to be. He never understood the idea that a dominant woman wasn't really acceptable somehow. He'd roll his eyes at the idea every single time. It made no sense and anyone who had that mentality could go jump into his lake with rocks tied to their feet. He might be the youngest but he was still their hermano and there was a kind of responsibility that went with it. Not that his hermanas couldn't take care of themselves. He just wanted to stop them from hurting before it happened.

It was the only point in time where both his reputation and acting skills came in handy. All he had to do was get into character and boom. If the man decided it was worth it to put up with Bruno then they could get a momentary pass. He had yet to see anyone get honest to god serious with Pepa yet and that might possibly be his fault but if that was all it took then they didn't deserve his sister anyway so, he didn't feel bad at all. He'd apologize profusely to her when he got caught sticking his hands into her relationships but he wasn't actually sorry about anything. Unlike those men he could actually deal with Pepa's emotions and still love her and he loved her dearly. It was a part of who she was and anyone who wanted to change that was a bad person in Bruno's book. Sometimes one bad storm was all it took to send them running and, if Bruno was being honest, it was kind of fun. They made it too easy and he knew how to antagonize his sister without anyone, including her, realizing exactly what he'd gone and done.

So, when a sudden storm rolled in he knew his hermana was having a difficult moment and, with how fast it had popped up, it must've been bad. Bruno didn't like to leave the house but he would, of course, do that for his hermana in an instant. So, he'd taken a breath and walked out of Casita for the first time in two days to find her and see what was wrong. Maybe he could fix it and if he couldn't then he could just be there. He tried to take deep breaths as he noticed the glares he was getting and kept reminding himself that he was doing this for Pepa. Pepa was upset and he couldn't stand it when she was upset. There was mostly wind and dark clouds so that meant that she was most likely anxious or embarrassed about something.

As it turns out she'd gotten clipped by an anxious horse and it had ripped the left section of her bodice from her shoulder. She was clinging to the fabric in an attempt to cover herself but the wind was not helping. At least if his ruana had ripped like that he was a man and didn't have to worry about what she did. Of course she'd be embarrassed about it. She was in the middle of town! That wasn't really what made Bruno's eyes go wide though.

There was some man touching his sister and if a few flowers wilted around him he didn't notice. He knew how to deal with this. He'd just march right over, eyes aglow and say he had some kind of vision about the man. That's all he'd need to do to get this person away from his hermana and she could make her way back to Casita with no real harm done. He sucked in a deep breath and pulled the hood of his ruana over his head to give that bit of courage it always did. He wasn't sure why he just felt a bit more confident with his hood up. He stopped short when the man, who was just a touch shorter than Pepa, took off his shirt and wrapped it around her. Bruno couldn't hear what he was saying but his expression was soft and soothing. In fact, Bruno watched as, the more the man talked to her, the more the wind died down. He tilted his head and narrowed his eyes. That was a first. Most people would just steer clear when she was upset. By the end of it his hermana was actually smiling.

Okay he could get a pass, but that didn't mean that Bruno had to like him.

In fact, Bruno really didn't like him very much. He was loud to say the least. He was loud, he was energetic, and far too sociable for Bruno's liking. The man, Félix as it turned out, wouldn't leave him alone and Bruno liked being left alone. Mamá like Félix almost instantly and Bruno was pretty sure that was because he could calm Pepa down like no one else could. Sure, the man was friendly enough right now but Bruno knew that when it came to himself that friendliness was not going to last. In fact, he was probably faking it and that made Bruno mad. Bruno didn't like liars and he certainly didn't like liars anywhere near his hermanas.

There had to be some way for Bruno to get rid of him. There had to be some way to prove that he was…..Bruno didn't know…...just prove that he wasn't right. Prove that he wasn't worthy to be anywhere near Pepa. There had to be something. He knew Pepa's type. He knew the kind of men that she liked pretended to be something they weren't and send her home in tears while they continued to act like they weren't the ones at fault. Félix was just the best faker that Bruno had seen yet. He knew that Pepa would be furious if he looked into her future and even Bruno thought that would be an invasion of privacy for him to do that on purpose. So, he had to do this the old fashioned way. He didn't know what exactly it was that Félix wanted but Bruno was going to find it and expose this man and get him out of Casita and away from his sister. He just had to think.

He had yet to see the man lose his temper. Maybe that could be it. People became different when they were angry and what they did when they were angry was one of the best ways to judge someone's character. Now Bruno just had to find a way to get the man angry and not just angry, but furious. The problem now was exactly how to go about doing that. Félix was just so cheery and no one could possibly be that happy all the time. Especially around Bruno. No one was cheery around Bruno and that was how Bruno knew that this man was a liar. His acting was certainly good Bruno had to admit. The constant smile and good-natured greetings, which usually involved physical contact of some kind, when it came to the seer was just far too suspicious for Bruno's liking. Eventually the man would break and Bruno would find whatever it was he was hiding and expose it, expose him.

But how? Bruno knew that he had to do it in a way that no one could link it back to him otherwise he'd get all the blame and everyone would side with Félix and then he'd never be able to get to the bottom of it all. Heck if anything did go wrong they'd all probably still blame it on him. He had to be careful with this because everyone liked Félix. They liked him because he was friendly and cheerful and therein laid the problem.

Bruno had been trying to piss him off for weeks.

He was starting to wonder if this man was even capable of getting angry at all. He'd given Félix bad prophecy after bad prophecy and nothing. Not even a glare. It was infuriating! There had to be something! Anyone who holds in anger the way Félix did, that had to be it no one was that happy, was bound to blow and it was always a show when that happened. Now, he didn't want to hurt the man of course. That was out of the question. Bruno would never purposefully hurt anyone.

When it finally did happen Bruno had nothing to do with it. He'd been in his tower trying to coax a new rat close enough for him to give a gentle pet when a loud crack of lightning rattled through his room and the rats scrambled for cover. He'd wasted no time in bolting out his door and into the wind and rain. The droplets stung his skin where they landed and he was thankful that there wasn't any hail to go with it. He pulled his hood down to shield his eyes and squinted through the gale into the courtyard where Pepa stood yelling at Félix and the man was yelling back.

Aha! This would be it. Bruno felt a little bad about being so excited about this but he knew it he just knew this man was far too good to be true. He didn't need to be able to see the future to know that. Give it a few minutes and Félix would storm out of Casita and away from his hermana for good. Of course it would be an argument about her emotions and overreactions to things. That's always what it was about. Every single time. It had just taken longer this time because the man was idiotically and almost sickeningly cheerful.

Of course Félix had to go and throw Bruno through a loop again.

"What, you think I'm mad about this?!" He shouted over the roar of the wind as he gestured around him. "No! You stuck around when you knew you'd get upset!"

What?

"You have limits!" He screamed. "You know you do! You should have left and you didn't! You always have to have the last word!"

Bruno blinked. Well, he wasn't wrong.

"You're too focused on yourself and in all the wrong ways!"

Bruno had no idea what to do with himself after that. Félix had gotten angry and Bruno meant angry because Pepa wasn't taking care of herself. After that, things changed. Bruno was less suspicious of Félix and more cautious instead. Things could still go south and if they did he wasn't sure if Pepa could recover from it this time. Having a relationship go sour had always been nothing short of devastating for her. She couldn't hold back loving someone. She loved with her whole heart and her heart never broke, it shattered and Bruno had grown so tired and so angry at the men who did that to her. He'd always been too much of a coward about it all too. Too scared to confront the person who'd hurt his sister so much and so angry that he couldn't make her feel better. There was one relationship that ended because of a prophecy he'd handed over to the man and he still wasn't sure if she'd forgiven him for that or not. He hadn't meant to do that but if that was all it took for the man to turn tail and run then that was fine with Bruno.

People hurt. People healed. Most of the time, in Bruno's experience, it was the former. Falling in love with someone was dangerous and Bruno didn't think that anyone else saw that. As much as he wanted, so desperately, for a family of his own he was also terrified. People actually liked Pepa and things still became so painful for her. He could only imagine what might happen to him. It was probably best that he didn't even try. He should just accept that it would never happen and that it was better, safer, that way.

The day he mustered up a bit of courage was the day he had a vision of Félix proposing to his sister and that was, currently, unacceptable. Bruno still didn't trust it, didn't trust him. No one got to play around with his sister's heart and things had just become far too serious for his liking. It hadn't been a purposeful vision but the ones after that one were. He had to know when and he had to know where and then he had to figure out how to deal with this. How to deal with him. It would be perfect because Félix would be just as nervous as Bruno was and Bruno could act his way through it and faint once he got back to his tower. He'd gotten a bit of a reputation for avoiding Félix and that could easily be chalked up to the fact that Bruno avoided everyone but for the time being he could use that to make Félix think that he was just like the rumors spread about him.

He even practiced a malicious grin, a wicked smirk, and a downright evil glare in the mirror for hours in preparation for the confrontation. Pulling up his hood would just add to the effect too. It always caused the green glow in his eyes to stand out even more. He knew exactly where Félix would be today too. His heart pounded in his chest. He felt dizzy. He might just faint before he even left Casita to catch the man as he prepared himself for what was surely the most important decision of his life and by god Bruno was going to make sure that he knew that.

"Oh dios, papá dame la fuerza para hacer esto." He said to himself as he crept his way out of the house.

Félix was planning on proposing after dinner so it was already dark outside which was perfect for Bruno. This needed to be dramatic. He had to figure out how to be threatening on purpose. Yeah…..on purpose. The last thing Bruno was was intimidating. He was short, he was skinny, and he ran from everything. He just had to remember that he had a reputation and he all he needed to do was live up to it for a minute or two. The most important thing to do was remember his lines. Sure he was good at a bit of improv but he could still screw that up. One stutter was all it would take. This had to be his greatest performance yet.

"I can do this." He whispered to himself as he found the perfect place to lounge in preparation.

The best place to go and be alone in the Encanto was a small clearing in the midst of the jungle that bordered the mountains. He found a sturdy branch, propped his feet up, pulled his hood up, and waited. He waited far too long. Was he wrong? Had the vision been wrong? He was certain that it was tonight and that he'd be coming here but it felt like the wait had lasted too long. He was just about to give up and jump down when he heard someone pushing their way through the undergrowth and heard Félix muttering to himself. This was it. Bruno's hands shook, his heart pounded, and he felt sick. He could do this. He could do this. For Pepa. He took a breath and settled into his character, the one that the village had given him. He couldn't deny that he was a little irritated that he'd had to wait for so long. That's where he could start. He focused just enough to light up his eyes and leaned back on the thick branch he was lounging on. He took a moment to make sure everything was in place before speaking.

"You." He started and grinned when Félix jumped. "Are late."

The man's gaze snapped up to find Bruno reclining in the branches of a tree. He looked right at home on the thick boughs with his legs propped up and head tipped back. He wasn't even looking at Félix but when he did the hood shrouded his face from his nose up but, through the darkness, two bright green irises flared in the darkness lighting up the lower half of his face. He sat up, swung his legs down, rested his elbows on his knees, placed his chin in his hands, and tried not to throw up. He let a few strands of his hair fall in front of his face.

"Now what could you be planning?" He tilted his head and grinned at Félix's shocked expression. "It wouldn't have anything to do with my sister now would it?"

He hoped he sounded as smug as he wanted to be. He ran his tongue over his teeth, letting the light from his eyes reflect his teeth and make them gleam in the moonlight.

"Oh, I'm right aren't I?" He waved a hand in the air before Félix could respond. "Of course I am. Care to tell me what you have in your pocket?"

Bruno really hoped he wasn't going to throw up.

"No need." Bruno shrugged with a chuckle. "I know exactly what it is." He gave a smirk and hoped his practicing had paid off.

"Don't worry, you don't have to say a word." He said flippantly. "You just have to listen." He growled. "And listen well." He leaned forward.

He reached up and tucked the strand of hair behind his ear.

"No one." He snarled. "Not you, not any of them, know what I am truly capable of but if you mess this up, you'll find out very quickly exactly what I can do."

He grinned wide and manic, teeth gleaming white in the darkness.

"Break her heart and I break you." He stood up, feet planted firmly on the wood beneath him. "If you're thinking of telling anyone about this….." He shook his head. "No one will believe you."

Having said what he'd planned and finished his little show he leaped backward and vanished into the darkness of the night. Despite his wishes he did not make it to his tower before he fainted but at least it was far out of sight from Félix or anyone else. He also managed to wake up in time to make it to dinner and if Félix shot a few confused and, possibly nervous, glances his way no one noticed.
