When C.J. wanted something, she planned meticulously to achieve it. She was ruthless in dedication to the schedule. This Friday was a prime example.

She'd started her day with a list and a workout. After that, she brought in coffee and pastries. From there it was tackling her workload. She stayed on point: be done at quitting time.

Her frantic pace achieved enough of her to-do list allowing her a lunch break. That in itself was rare enough to raise eyebrows in the West Wing. C.J. simply shrugged off any questions by reminding people that if she took all the accumulated unused lunch hours, she's be back near the start of the President's second term.

When she mentioned she planned to check on Josh, everyone stopped giving her the evil eye. Visiting Josh was the third thing on her list. She had to pick up a few things from the store and then head to Danny's place.

She wanted to set the stage for his return home tonight by refilling the refrigerator and refreshing his place with flowers, candles and fresh linens.

The fates were cooperating for once. C.J.'s preordered groceries were ready and waiting. Traffic was light heading to Danny's old brownstone. She figured she was dreaming when there was a parking spot near the building.

She'd be able to do everything she needed to inside and visit Josh with time to spare before she felt guilty for being away from the White House for too long. If her luck held, there'd be a chance to grab something to eat on the way back to work.

The god and goddesses were cooperating for once. Danny had enjoyed a breakfast of Trish's outstanding apple pancakes with his son, dropped off the rental car without any problems and lucked into a first class seat on an earlier flight. He'd be back in D.C. by what most people considered lunch time.

He hadn't found time to call C.J. in the rush and decided to wait until he was back home. Danny would have to retrieve his luggage and fight for a cab. Once he was in his apartment he could relax a little and call her. His mouth watered at the thought of tasting her lips, etc. in a few short hours.

Her mouth watered again as she eyed the bedroom. It had started when she put away prime steaks, baking potatoes and champagne. There were strawberries and raspberries for dessert or for a late bedtime snack if they didn't make it to dessert.

The sheets and towels were already clean. C.J. turned down the bed and reminded herself to bring some chocolates back to put on the pillow. She slipped one of Danny's t-shirts under the pillow on her side of the bed. She remembered his promise during a late night phone call to reclaim it when he was home. The thought of him pulling it over her head left her shivering in delightful anticipation.

Home. It sounded glorious. She decided to move the vase of flowers to the dresser. There was a good chance it would be knocked off the nightstand once they were both in the bed.

Danny unlocked his apartment door and smiled. He was home. It felt cool, welcoming and quiet. All week the volume of his life had been turned up because he was in the company of a seven year old.

He would relish the quiet because he was technically on vacation until Monday. However, he'd probably wander into the White House over the weekend especially if C.J. was there.

C.J. Just thinking of her made him smile and his body itched to mold against hers. He reached for his wireless phone to surprise her with the news of his arrival.

The sight of flowers on his dining room table and in his living room stopped him. There was no note from C.J. He looked around and spotted her purse dumped on his couch along with her briefcase.

His smile widened to a grin as hit the speed dial. "Hey, C.J."

"Danny", she breathed it out with happiness. "Where are you?"

"I was able to get an earlier flight."

"Is P.J. okay?"

"He's fine, don't worry but thanks for worrying."

"Good. When will you be here?"

"Looks like in time for a lunchtime tryst."

"Oh?"

"How about it?"

There was regret in C.J.'s voice. "I wish I'd known. I'd have set up my day differently. I'm . . ."

Danny interrupted her. "You know I thought about asking what you're wearing but that's not my top priority right now."

"Then, what is?"

"Keeping you from screaming. Don't freak as you walk around the corner into the hall wearing something that goes with a navy blazer."

"What the Hell?" She stepped around the corner and saw him. "You're here."

"Yeah." They both had their phones still held to their ears. "This is the ultimate in phone dependency."

"I guess we should hang up."

"Unless you're only interested in phone sex, C.J."

She continued to move down the hall toward him. "No though I'll admit I like it when my phone vibrates but it's no substitute for you. My phone won't buy me dinner."

Danny clicked his phone shut. C.J. mirrored his motion and one upped him when she tossed it on to the couch.

His phone sailed away to join hers as the couple was finally within arms' reach of each other. She wrapped her arms around his neck and tilted her head back for a kiss.

He drew her closer and angled her body back to the wall. With that to brace her, Danny plundered her mouth and let his hands roam and possess. Her moans reverberated in his mind as their tongues tangled together.

Her hands made their way to his hair mussing curls and caressing his neck. She ran them down his back relearning his wiry body again. In seconds, she tugged his polo shirt out of his jeans. That gave her the freedom to feel bare flesh and allowed her cool hands to heat up his skin.

It wasn't as easy for Danny. C.J.'s blouse had too damn many little buttons. He nearly tore them off after his desperate efforts only opened a few of them. He craved skin. But he was a resourceful guy and yanked the blouse out of her skirt. The first few being undone allowed him to just pull the blouse over his head as he broke their kiss to complete the task.

"Good thing I rolled up the cuffs to fix the flowers or I'd be handcuffed." C.J. panted it out and Danny grinned at her.

"Are you telling me you're into something new?"

"I'm not telling you anything but that I've missed you and I really don't want to talk at this moment."

On her next breath she was whimpering as he nodded too intent on using his tongue along the edge of her bra to continue speaking. She let her hands slide away to try and hold onto the wall. It was the only thing keeping her from falling onto Danny. When his fingers flicked open her bra and his mouth feasted on her small, firm breasts she nearly melted to the floor. He set her skin on fire and the tingling spread through her body making her boneless.

His tongue circled her nipples and his hand eased down to her center. Her little sounds of pleasure grew louder and she molded her lower body to his.

Danny raised his eyes and saw the flush settling over her skin. He was about to burst if he didn't get inside her but he could see she was close to coming. He concentrated on that and set his own longing aside.

"Stay with me, C.J., almost there." His hand glided under her skirt as he blessed hot Washington summers and her well toned body that meant no pantyhose to slow him down. His other hand held her up as C.J. felt his familiar touch caressing her. He set aside the lacy swatch she wore and made her tremble. The gentle pressure sent her over the edge and freed her body.

When the fog cleared, her head fell onto his shoulder and she burrowed into him. "Welcome home."

"You sure know how to put out a welcome mat, C.J."

"'Put out', huh? I still missed you."

"I could tell. I'd like to show you how much I've missed you if you'd like." He inched away from her. "If not, I need at least a cold shower and possibly medical attention."

"Can't have the Posts health insurance costs hiked unnecessarily. Walk this way." She stole a kiss and took his hand.

"Much longer and I might have to walk that way, C.J."
