Republic city: some ally way

All was quiet, like any other day for the goers of Republic city. The sky was blue, not a cloud in the sky, accompanied by a pleasant warm breeze. It was looking to be a good day. In a dark ally, a little discourse started with some sparks of energy manifesting out of nothing. A few seconds later the sparks expanded to an electrical arc of energy. A tare was opening, pieces of trash and dust began to twist and blow as directed by some unknown force. As the tare grew energy began to climb up the walls and the droning and zaps grew louder. "Do you hear that." a close shop owner asked a customer "Hm? Nothing." As it seemed that the energy was at its peak and was about to reach its climax, it fizzled away. A few seconds later the energy tared itself back open and spat out four individuals.

They landed hard on the ground, their weapons clattering after them. "Fuck…" a ski-masked man sat up, putting a hand on his aching forehead "Who were those guys?"

"Get off me!" a feminine voice said as she pushed off one of the others "I'm not sure, we pushed in too fast. Way too aggressive this time." she had a long thin snout and white fur. Her Australian accent was thick and heavy.

The man who was just pushed off the woman got up and collected himself "So where did we end up?" he adjusted the upside-down pot on his head, there was a crudely painted medical symbol on its top.

Another used a broadsword to prop himself off the ground "Ah don't know but I could use some health, Moses. We got our arses beat." The pot-wearing man reached into his backpack, which was a mess of strapped together ammo containers and first aid kits, and tossed him a first aid kit. Just before falling into the swordsman's hands, it disappeared in a flash of red medical wich light. A few scrapes and bruises disappeared.

The woman got up and put on a hat that nestled nicely between two tufts of fur on either side of her head, she looked down at the broken sunglasses in her hands then slid them into her pocket. "Well be better to figure out soon, we need the money for that job." she picked up a scopeless rifle off the ground and walked to the ally opening.

The Ski-masked man put his hands in his pockets and followed her. Looking up and around "This doesn't look familiar at all…" he thought out loud "We probably just haven't been on this side of town yet." she woman replied

The man known as Moses helped the swordsman up "Get moving old man, we're moving out!" "Yeah, Yeah." The swordsman looked up to reveal he was wearing a red angry mask with huge teeth under a baseball cap and hood.

The group made their way out of the ally and gathered at its mouth. They stood there at the scenery in front of them. "This doesn't look like mercenary city…" The ski-masked man said. It all mostly looked familiar due to being a large city but the architecture was all wrong. Rather than the modern look of their home, this was a 1920s style place with an Asian motif. They simply looked on dumbfounded before the swordsman broke the silence "Are dead?" the sword disappeared in his hand and was replaced with a bottle of rum from which he took a long swig.

The bottle was passed around the group and made its way back to him. Moses looked down on his slowly healing cuts and minor scuffs "No sir, there is no pain in heaven" The black Scotsman gave him a look. Thinking that any of them was going to any form of heaven was a stretch. The woman stepped to a nearby open storefront "Excuse me, ma'am? We're a little lost, where are we?" The shop owner looked back at her with a stunned look. "Um… I'm Vanessa…" The shop owner still said nothing, after a few agonizing seconds she shook her head "Oh! My apologies, this is 17th street shopping district." Vanessa nodded "Thanks, do you have a map?" "Oh, uh. I'm sorry, miss but could you take off that costume?" Vanessa was about to say something when a hotrod looking car drove by and parked on the other side of the street. "You should probably get going, miss." The woman said as she hastily went back into her shop

Venessa looked back as three men exited the vehicle and began to talk to a shop owner. Everyone else in the street seemed to be all hiding away exempt for a woman wearing some blue uniform and ponytails. Vanessa equipt her rifle, it was scopeless but was still bolt action. She rested the butt on her hip as she gestured for the others to come near. They followed suit and pulled out their weapons. "This doesn't look good," Moses said as he hefted a large tube launcher over his shoulder. The group looked on as the conversation grew tenser. The shop owner held up what looked like a gramophone to the men and one of them delivered a flaming kick to the elegant device, slamming it to the ground in a pile of charred splinters.

Venessa was about to give an order when the girl stepped in. The group Continued to watch when one of the men suddenly threw a punch at her, a gish of water followed the jab as if on a tether to his knuckles. The punch missed but the water continued, the woman caught it and threw it back. The splash hit his face and froze his head, encasing it in ice. "Move in, non-lethal!" Venessa ordered as they surged forward. As they rushed into the fight the woman kicked the icicle-headed man into the car breaking the ice into the battle. Moses took a knee and looked down at the sight of the launcher. It was square-shaped with its insides exposed at its back, a large spring recoiled back and let loose its energy. A rubber ball the size of a fist shot out at lightning speed and decked the largest man in the stomach. The others rushed forward in, intent for melee. "Huh?" The girl looked back at the group as they ran headfirst into the fight. The small scarf-wearing man threw a stream of fire into the swordsman. The back Scotsman raised his shield as it impacted on its surface, blowing the heat into his face. The mask scowled, causing the fire thrower to jump back in surprise. The man on the ground got up and seeing how the situation was turning, he ran back to the car and started it. The girl blocked a large rock from the bigger man by raising a wall of stone from the ground as he held his stomach in retreat to the car.

The vehicle began to drive off, the fire throwing chasing after. The ski-masked man pulled a baton wrapped in wire, arcs of energy jump up and down the shaft. He caught the runner in the leg, causing in to shake and convulse on the ground. As the vehicle drove down the street both Vanessa and the girl yelled "I got it!" The girl stomped and punched as a trail of stone chased after the car. Venesa took a knee and looked down the iron sight of her rifle. Just as she took the shot, puncturing the tire, the stone threw the car to the side and out of control. The hotrod swerved into a shop. The girl jumped back from the gunshot, Venessa looked up at her "You can have the rep, we'll take the money." "What money?" They were interrupted by some kind of siren looking up they saw some kind of airship "Police! Freeze where you are!"

The girl waved up at the airship, Venessa looked back at her team who was gathering "We should get going." The ski-masked man nodded "I saw a manhole cover back there." "Good, let's go!" The group began to run as the girl looked back at them in confusion. Down the street she saw the cover to the manhole "There!" Venessa yelled. Looking back she saw the girl was running from what they gathered was the police. The police seemed to be wielding was looked like thin metal tendrils and they were getting closer. When they got to the manhole Venessa jumped down followed by the swordsman, mosses then the ski-masked man. A tendril shot right past the opening. He adjusted the cover back into place. "Moses! Give Havoc your torch!" "Yes ma'am!" He reached into his pack and handed Havok the blowtorch. The ski-masked Havoc squinted as he melded the sides of the cover to the manhole walls. "Done!" he said as he dropped the blowtorch right into Moses' hands. "Let's move!" he said as he stashed the tool. The Banging on the manhole cover faded away as they ran through the maze-like sewers.
