Raquel came home after a day in the village and found Sergio preparing dinner in the kitchen. She kissed him hello and he noticed the sheepish look on her face.

„What?" Sergio asked.

„Uhm…" she hesitated. „I may have done something today and I'm not sure if you will like it or not."

She saw the alarmed look on his face and quickly added „Don't worry, it's nothing bad, it's something I've been thinking about for a while actually and today I just decided to do it."

„Raquel you're making me nervous. What is it?" Sergio asked. He was getting more impatient by the second.

Pulling back the long sleeve of her flowy dress she revealed her wrist and held it out to him.

Sergio took a step closer. Raquel's wrist was wrapped in cling film and beneath he could spot black ink.

„You got at tattoo?" he asked, clearly surpised.

„I did." She still couldn't tell if he was happy about this or not.

„Can I see it?" Sergio asked.

„Of course, come with me", Raquel said. She took him by the hand and led him to their bathroom.

Over the sink she carefully unwrapped her arm and rinsed off the excess ink. She dried it off with a towel, turned around and held her arm out to him.

Sergio stepped closer, taking her wrist with his hand and lifted her arm closer to his face to inspect the tiny tattoo.

„Did it hurt?" he asked her, always worried about her wellbeing first.

„It just stang a little, it wasn't too bad."

At first glance, it seemed to be just random intertwined lines but knowing her, there had to be a deeper meaning. Something that wasn't visible to just everyone.

Raquel remained silent, giving him the time to figure it out by himself. She couldn't help but feel a little nervous because it meant a lot to her that he understood the meaning behind the tattoo. She was quite sure he would figure it out, he was the professor after all.

He closely looked at the tattoo and furrowed his brows in concentration. After looking at the lines from all angles several times he suddenly gasped as the penny dropped and looked up at her.

„They're letters, aren't they?" he asked.
Raquel nodded, still not saying anything.

„An L", he said as he carefully traced the delicate lines with his fingers. „And a P."

„Yes" Raquel said, her voice a little shaky.

„An L and a P." Sergio repeated. „L and P. Lisboa and Professor." It was a statement, not a question.

Raquel had thought about this for a while. Sometimes their whole story seemed so surreal to her. The heists, their time in Palawan, it had been such a whirlwind and she wanted something to remember her that all of this really happened.

Because like she told him once, this life was so much better than her previous one. She was convinced that it was always supposed to be this way. She would choose this life with him over and over again and she wanted something to commemorate that.

So the idea of a tattoo slowly began to form in her head. She considered different symbols, she considered their real names and initials but she didn't want it to be too obvious. It needed to be something that only the two of them would truly understand.

A few weeks ago when Sergio was out running errands she sat on their porch with a pen and blank paper and started scribbling random lines and letters when it suddenly became clear to her what the tattoo should be.

L and P. Lisboa and Professor. Their alter egos. Two names that would always be a part of who they were.

Their story might've begun with different names but she decided to follow her heart and stay with him after finding out who he really was. Lisboa and the Professor were just as much a part of their story as Sergio and Raquel were.
So many memories, good and bad ones, were forever entwined with those names.

Their new life, a life she was convinced she was always meant to live, brought her to the point of choosing her own city name. Memories of carefree summers in Portugal as a child had made the decision easy for her: Lisboa.

Lisboa was who she was meant to be, who she always was. And he was as much the Professor as he was Sergio and she loved both parts of him equally. Not only did Sergio and Raquel belong together, so did the Professor and Lisboa.

Sergio and Raquel got to really know each other in Palawan, learned about each other and fell in love all over again.
But the unbreakable bond they now shared was forged during their darkest hours when they were Lisboa and the Professor. When he thought he had lost her forever and moved heaven and hell to protect her. That's when she truly knew that nothing could come between them.

In the end he had asked her to marry him in the midst of chaos, while they were both chained up and she was wearing her red suit. Yet another coalition of their realities and without a doubt in her mind she had said yes to forever with him. To Sergio and to the Professor.

Sergio stared at the tattoo for another second and then looked at her with pure wonderment written all over his face. Looking at him she knew he understood how much this meant to her.

„Say something." Raquel whispered.

„I'm trying to find the right words." He smiled at her and she could see that he was overcome with emotions. Raquel knew that he sometimes still had a hard time coping with the danger he put her in and that sometimes he couldn't help but wonder if she regretted choosing this life with him.

She hoped that this would show him once and for all that she belonged with him.

Sergio brought her wrist closer to his face and brushed a featherlight kiss onto the tattoo, careful not to hurt the sore skin.

He pulled her close and she buried her face against his chest.

„I can't believe you did this, Raquel" he whispered in her hair. „It's so beautiful. It's you and me. It's… it's us."

She beamed up at him and nodded. „I knew you would get it."

„You know this is forever, right?" Sergio said with a grin.

Raquel took his face between her hands and kissed him. „So are we, my love. So are we."
