Its was almost ten months to the day they were married, Charley was flat on her back, giving birth to their twins. As she pushed with all her might, her attentive husband was to her right, holding her hand, encouraging her throughout the entire birth.
"I'm never letting you near me ever again!" She said, through the contraction.
Vinnie knew it was the contraction talking, and not his wife. He knew, she couldn't keep her hands off of him, hence why she is giving him the best gift a woman could ever give, children! With a smirk, he said, "Whatever you say, doll. Let's get these twins born."
The OB looked up from between Charley's legs, and said, "You're doing very well, Mrs. VanWham. Another good push, and one of them will be out."
"You hear that!" Vinnie said. "One of our totally awesome kids will soon be born! Come on, babe! One good push will do it!"
Charley bared down, pushing with all her might. Then, they heard the most wonderful sound they ever heard. The sound of a baby crying.
"Congratulations! You have a beautiful little girl!" The OB said.
"A girl! We have a baby girl!" Charley said. "Can I see her?"
"Not quite yet, you still have one more to push out," the OB stated.
Another half hour later, their son was born. Both babies were now safely in their mother's arms.
Vinnie was right next to Charley, half sitting on the bed, with his left leg hanging off the side. He was completely amazed at the sight before him. Beside him was his wife, with his two kids. "They are amazing," he said, not taking his eyes off of his kids.
"They are," Charley said, giving each one a kiss on the forehead. "What do you think we should name them?"
Vinnie picked up his daughter and cuddled her into his chest. "She's the perfect mix of you and I, Charley. She should have a name, worthy of her awesomeness. I read somewhere, Earth used to have a queen with the name Victoria." He lifted her up so he could look into his daughter's face, and asked, "You like your name, Victoria?"
Victoria opened her eyes for the first time, revealing those same pools of green her mother has to her father, and cooed in delight.
Vinnie swore his heart stopped when she opened her eyes. He brought her back to his chest, kissed her, and said, "I'm never going to put you down. I love you, my wonderful daughter."
"Since you named our daughter, I get to name our son. You named her, Victoria, I'd like to name our son, Victor," Charley said.
"I like it!" Vinnie said. "Victor and Victoria, two of the baddest babies ever!"
"I hope they don't behave like you do," Throttle stated from the door.
Both parents turned to the door to see Throttle and Modo, standing in the doorway. "Come in, guys and meet your niece and nephew," Charley said.
They entered the room where Throttle made his way over to Charley and Victor while Modo went over to Vinnie and Victoria.
"Would you like to hold her, big guy?" Vinnie asked his brother.
"Can I?" He asked in return, flexing his mechanical hand. "She's so small, I don't want to hurt her."
"I trust you, Modo. Hold out your arms," Vinnie said.
Modo did as he was instructed, and extended his arms towards Vinnie.
Vinnie slowly placed his daughter in Modo's arms, who instinctually brought her to his broad chest. He looked down at the tiny mouse he was holding, and as a tear left his eye, he said, "She's so beautiful. I almost don't want to give her back."
Victoria looked up at her uncle's face. But instead of being frightened by not seeing her parents, she cuddled up in Modo's arms, and fell fast asleep.
"You're good, Modo. You can sit for them, as often as you want," Charley said.
"Thank you, Charley ma'am. Mind if I hold her, for awhile longer?" Modo asked.
"Knock yourself out," she said. "Throttle, would you like to hold your nephew?"
"You didn't even need to ask," he said as he took Victor from her. He gazed down at the tiny mouse, and said, "The goddess blessed both of you. If things were different and we were still on Mars. I'd like to think, Carbine and I would have settled down, and have a few kids of our own."
"Whatever happened to, Remind me never to have kids, Throttle?" Vinnie asked.
Throttle smiled at Victor, then said, "I got older, Vin. I still can't believe you beat me to having them, through."
"Yeah, I guess I did. Although, you do look good holding a baby," Vinnie said. "You know, my kids may attract a few of the single moms over at the park. Care to use them as Wing-Mice; guys?"
"I can't believe you are even suggesting that, Vinnie! Our kids are not going to be used as, Chick Magnets!" Charley said.
Before Vinnie could say something, which would land him deeper in the hole than he already was, a nurse entered the room, and said, "Visiting hours are over. Give the babies back to their parents. You can see them again tomorrow."
As Throttle handed Victor back to Charley, he said, "That's our cue to leave." He kissed Charley, then said, "Modo and I will be by tomorrow to take you home." He turned to Modo and said, "Come on, bro. We have a pair of cribs to put together."
"Do I have to? I like having a baby in my arms," Modo said.
"You can hold her again tomorrow, Modo. Now, give Victoria back to her father," Throttle said.
Modo took one more look at the sleeping mouse in his arms, then brought her up to his mouth, and gave her a kiss, then gave her back to Vinnie, and said, "Be a good little girl. I'll see you tomorrow."
After the two left the room, Vinnie passed Victoria to her mother, and said, "I'll be back tomorrow, Charley. You and the kids need to rest." He kissed her, then said, "I love you, and I love them already." He popped his helmet on his head, and said, "Be good to your mother." And left the room.
The two baby mice curled up to their mother's chest, and soon fell asleep.
Charley gazed down at her kids, then said, "I gave birth to two Half-Martian Mice! Wonder what else my life has in store for me?" She kissed her kids, then fell asleep herself.
The next morning, Vinnie, Throttle, and Modo were at the hospital bright and early. Modo and Throttle has modified the seats on their bikes to make sure they were perfectly safe for the Precious Cargo they will be carrying.
Vinnie was the first to dismount his bike. He kept his helmet on, and said, "Come on guys. You're too slow! I need to see my family!"
Throttle was next to dismount. As his right foot hit the ground, he said, "Whoa Vin! Slow down! They aren't going anywhere! What's the rush?"
Throttle's question stopped him in his tracks. He turned around and answered, "They are my family. MY Family! That is something, no one thought I ever would have! Up there, is my wife, and my two kids! I don't want to be apart from them, any longer than I need to be!" He then ran towards the hospital as fast as his feet could carry him.
Modo chuckled, then said, "Face it, bro. Vinnie is a changed mouse. He's going to be the type of father, any little mouse would want. Hope Charley, ma'am is ready for the new him."
Vinnie knocked on the door to Charley's room, and slowly opened the door. Once he entered the room, the sight before him, made him stop in his tracks.
Before him was Charley, feeding Victor and Victoria from her breast. From what he could see, they were both quite hungry. "You need anything, babe?" He asked.
Charley looked up to her husband, and said, "Unless you can figure out a way of you feeding them?"
He came over to the bed and sat down with his right leg crossed under him, and said, "I don't have the equipment you do, Charley. Can I take one from you?"
She dislodged Victor from her left breast, and as she handed him to his father, she said, "Victor has had enough. He is either going to have your body, or be as large as Limburger."
Vinnie took Victor in his arms and lifted him to his face. He rubbed is nose to Victor's and said, "He's going to be big, and strong, just like his father."
"And hopefully without his father's ego," Charley muttered.
"Hardy, har har, doll," Vinnie said. He kissed Victor, then said, "He's going to be the type of man, any woman would want. Big, handsome, the most attentive, and caring guy there is."
Modo was the next to enter the room, since the door was open. He looked upon the bed to see Charley still feeding one of the kids. He quickly covered his eye, and said, "Oh mamma, I'm sorry, Charley ma'am. I didn't mean to see you undressed."
"Modo, you galant goof! I was only feeding Victoria. There is nothing to be embarrassed about," Charley said.
"My father would tan my hide, if he found out I saw a woman in such a state of dress, without my ring on her finger," Modo said.
"He would, and if it was anyone but you, seeing my wife in such a state, I'd feed you your tail. You're family Modo. Now get over here and hold your nephew!" Vinnie said.
Modo covered his eye, walked over to the bed and lowered himself to Charley's level. Where Vinnie passed him his nephew. "Hey little guy. I'm Modo. Your uncle."
Victor opened his eyes to his uncle, revealing the same pools of green his sister, and mother have. He then curled his little fingers around Modo's mechanical ones, accidentally opening Modo's Arm Cannon. Which startled the tiny mouse. But instead of being frightened, he started playing with the weapon, like a toy.
Modo quickly moved Victor to his left arm and moved his right arm away from him. "Whoa! That's not something you should be playing with." Modo said.
Victor scrunched up his face and started to cry.
Vinnie rose from the bed, coming over to Modo, and said, "Let me have my son."
Modo passed Victor back to Vinnie, who brought the baby to his chest. "Hey, little guy. Modo isn't going to hurt you."
Victor stopped crying and looked up to his father. His cheeks were still wet with tears and his lips were still slightly trembling.
Vinnie kissed his son between his antennas, and said, "Daddy's got you."
"Vin, fatherhood suits you. I still can't believe, you and Charley made two little angels," Modo said, securing his cannon.
"Its mostly her genes, big guy. If they had any more of me in them, they would be tearing up the hospital by now. I was not a good baby by any means," Vinnie said and kissed his son again, before saying, "But I had the nurses constantly looking at the most awesome kid they had ever seen."
Charley finished feeding Victoria. And as she covered herself, she said, "There's my husband's ego again. I hope our kids didn't get that gene from him."
"If they do, Earth is in some serious trouble," Throttle said as he entered. He stopped next to the bed, looked down to Victoria, and asked, "Mind if I get a turn at holding my niece?"
Charley was more than happy to be free from her kids, if only for a short time. While she loved them, their front baby teeth made her sore as they suckled. "Knock yourself out, Throttle. And if you can figure out a way of feeding them, please do."
Throttle took Victoria from Charley, as he said, "That's one thing, I can't do, Charley." He brought the little girl to his chest, and said, "She's just as beautiful as her mother. Speaking of beautiful, Where's Melanie, Modo? I figured, she would want to meet the kids?"
As soon as Melanie's name was mentioned, Modo smiled a little wider. Their date went much better than either one anticipated. Charley made sure he looked hot! She dressed him in a pair of well-fitted black jeans, a dark blue Polo shirt, and a pair of low Biker boots. But what he didn't know, Charley and Melanie were conspiring together on their outfits. So, when he picked her up at Andy's, his jaw almost dropped to the floor at the sight of his date. She was wearing a black boot with a moderate heel, which rose half way up her calf, a pair of skin-tight black jeans, and a matching low-necked t-shirt. In other words, she looked just as hot as Modo. However, as soon as Melanie saw Modo, she ran over to him, threw her arms around his neck, and pulled him into a deep kiss, which made his toes curl in his boots. At the end of the night, she invited him into her apartment, where they got to know each other, until very late at night. She invited him to spend the night, which he accepted, but he stayed on the couch. But as a storm rolled in, Melanie rose from her bed and sought out the comfort of Modo's arms. When he woke up in the morning, he felt a light weight pressing into him. His eye went wide as the shock ran through him of what was occurring. But she quelled him with a very passionate kiss.
Throttle and Vinnie noticed the way Modo was smiling, then Vinnie said, "I take it things are going well with Melanie, Modo?"
"Things with her are, very good. I'm going to get her, once we have Charley and the kids, safely back at the garage," Modo answered.
"Melanie is good for you, Modo," Charley said.
"That she is," Modo said.
One of the nurses angered the room, and said, "Its time to get the Happy Family back home. We are going to really miss your children. They are so adorable!"
"Thank you, miss," Vinnie said. He kissed Victor between the antenna, then said, "Come on, bros. Let's get my family home."
A half hour later, the six of them arrived at the garage.
Modo parked his bike, shut it off, then reached behind him to remove his nephew from his safety seat. He cuddled Victor to his chest, and said, "We're home, Victor."
"Took you long enough, Modo," A female voice said from behind him.
Modo recognized Melanie's voice instantly. He turned around to face her, and asked, "I thought I was going to pick you up later, Melanie?"
As Melanie walked over to Modo and Victor, she said, "Andy gave me the rest of the day off, after I told him I was going to come here." She stopped in front of him, looked down to Victor, and asked, "Who's this cute little guy in your arms, Modo?"
"This is my nephew; Victor, Melanie," he answered.
Melanie tickled Victor's chin with the fingers on her right hand, which caused the young mouse to laugh. "He's completely adorable, Modo! Can I hold him?"
Vinnie pulled up next to Modo with Charley riding behind him. She answered, "Go ahead, Melanie."
Melanie took Victor from Modo and brought him up to her face. She kissed him, which made Victor coo in delight, and said, "He's going to be a Lady Killer, when he gets older."
"My son will have his pick of girls, Melanie," Vinnie said, which made his wife give him a Death Glare. He smiled at his wife, then said, "However, he will only date one girl at a time."
"Nice save, bro," Modo said, before he lightly punched Vinnie on the left shoulder.
"Don't I know it," Vinnie said, rubbing his shoulder.
Throttle pulled up and parked next to Vinnie. After he dismounted his bike and removed Victoria from her Bike Seat, he said, "She's such a good girl. Makes me wish Carbine was here, so I could finally marry her, and have a family of my own."
"Well lover, when I land, you can ask me, and I might say yes," Carbine's voice came from his radio.
Throttle passed Victoria to Vinnie, picked up the mic, and asked, "You're coming to Earth?"
"Do you think, I'm going to miss the opportunity to see Charley's kids, and taunt Vinnie?" Carbine said.
"Take it easy on him, babe. He's a changed mouse. He reminds me of my own father," Throttle said.
"That's a large compliment, coming from you, Throttle. I met your father only once, and I could tell how much he cared for his family," Carbine said. "I'll be landing in about an hour. Oh, tell Modo he'd better do the right thing with Melanie, or I will kick his tail! See ya soon, lover."
Throttle placed the mic back, and said, "See you soon."
"What did she mean by, "Do the right thing," Throttle?" Modo asked.
"You'll have to ask her, when she gets here, Big Guy," Throttle answered.
Modo looked over his right shoulder to Melanie, and saw her beautiful smile, and how she was having fun with Charley, Vinnie, and the two babies. He swore his heart stopped beating when Melanie bent over to pick up Victor's blanket he accidentally dropped. "I think I'm in love with her. Wonder how she would look with my ring on her finger?"
"Are you seriously thinking about asking her to marry you?" Throttle asked.
"I'm older than both of you. I've should have settled down, a long time ago, and had a family. Seeing how happy our little bro is, makes me regret not finding the right girl before we left Mars. If Melanie is willing, I hope she will become my wife and be the one who will be the mother of my kids," Modo answered, not removing his eye from Melanie.
Throttle clapped his right hand on Modo's left shoulder, and said, "If she doesn't want someone like you, Modo, then she's has completely blind not to see the gentle, caring, man, who would do anything for her. Heck, if I was into guys, I'd marry you."
"I'll take that as a compliment, Throttle. I think," Modo said.
Victor started to fuss, while Melanie was holding him. As she fought to maintain the hold she had on Victor, she said, "Hey Modo! Care to give me a hand with your nephew? For a new born, he's kind of strong!"
"Be right there," Modo said, and went over to where Melanie was holding his nephew. He removed Victor from Melanie, and said, "Uncle Modo's got you, Victor."
Victor felt the warmth radiating from Modo, and calmed down enough to fall asleep in his arms.
Melanie went over to stand on his right, looked at the sleeping mouse, then said, "He's such a good boy. Wonder if you and I could make something, as adorable and handsome as Victor?"
Modo turned his head to the right, looking down at Melanie. He gulped, swallowing the nervousness over what he was about to do, then asked, "There is only one way to find out. Melanie, will you marry me?"
Melanie's gaze shot up tot Modo's face, wondering if he was joking with her, or not. However, he appeared completely serious as he looked back down at her. "Are you serious, Modo?"
"Very. Seeing my youngest brother, with his own family, made me realize I want a family of my own. And I want it, only with you. I love you, Melanie. Will you marry me, and make me the happiest mouse on Earth and Mars?"
Melanie turned and walked a few steps away from him. She wiped a few tears away from her eyes, then turned around and ran towards him, and at the last second, leaped towards him.
Modo opened his right arm and caught her, bringing her to him.
She kissed him for all she was worth, then answered, "Yes! I'll marry you!"
Modo smiled from ear-to-ear, then kissed her, nice and hard.
Charley heard the Marriage Proposal, then saw the shared kiss between Modo and Melanie. "Go get your son, Vinnie. Modo and Mel are going to be busy," she said.
"The type of busy where they are picking out invitations? Or the type of busy, they are going to need to use our bedroom?" Vinnie mockingly asked.
Charley simply pointed at the Newly Engaged couple, and ordered, "Go!"
"Yes, doll," was his only reply, and went to get Victor from his uncle.
Throttle came over to Charley, and said, "That escalated quickly. I've been together with Carbine, for longer than we have known you, Charley. You think she'll say yes, when I ask her to marry me?"
"For as long as I've known her, she's always done things her own way, on her terms. She's a very independent woman, I'm not sure if she'll ever settle down. No matter how charming and handsome the man asking her is."
Vinnie returned carrying Victor in his arms in time to hear his wife's compliments. "Are you hitting on Throttle, while you have our daughter in your arms, babe?" He asked.
When he was close enough, she wrapped her arms around her husband's neck, kissed him, and answered, "No, I'm not. Since his ego is only half as big as yours, I'm giving it a little boost so he doesn't screw up asking Carbine to marry him."
Vinnie looked over to his brother, and asked, "You want to marry, Carbine? The woman who can, and has kicked your tail, more than once?"
"That's my girl, and yes I do. I should have married her before we left for Earth all those years ago," Throttle answered.
"So why didn't you?" Charley asked.
"The war was still going on. We both had different priorities to worry about, not getting hitched. We were also too immature to really know what love was. Especially with your husband, going after every girl in sight," Throttle answered.
An hour later, the five adults were sitting in the Living Room, with the two babies in their cribs. Vinnie and Charley sat at one end of the couch, with Charley in his lap. His hands were around her stomach, and every once in a while, he tickled her.
Modo and Melanie were at the opposite end with Melanie sitting to his left. Their fingers were tightly entwined. And in her left ear, was one of Modo's ear rings. He told her, he would get a proper Engagement ring for her, soon. But he wasn't going to let her not have a symbol of his devotion to her.
Leaving Throttle to be sitting in a wooden chair across from the two couples.
They all heard a High Powered bike pull up to the garage, then Throttle said, "I'm going to go and greet her, and propose before I loose what's left of the courage I have." He stood and left the room.
Carbine had already dismounted her bike and was in the process of taking off her helmet, when she heard from behind her, "Aren't you a sight for sore eyes." She whipped her head around to face Throttle, and said, "That line would work, if you had eyes that worked, Throttle."
He smiled back at her, and said, "Got me there, beautiful." He walked over to her, wrapped her in his arms, then kissed her. He pulled back, and said, "I missed you, Carbine."
"I can tell. That was some kiss, lover. Throttle, I have something I need to tell you," Carbine said.
"You can tell me in a minute. I need to ask you something first," he said. Then fell to a single knee, taking her hands in hers, and asked, "Carbine. I should have done this before we left Mars. Will you marry me?"
A single tear left her right eye and ran down her face. "Of course I'll marry you." She kissed him, and said, "You're going to be an awesome father, Throttle."
"What are you talking about?" He asked, standing to full height.
"Remember what we did, the last time I came to Earth?"
Throttle remembered taking her out. Showing her the best Chicago had to offer. Then bringing her back to her ship and showing her how much he loved her, for the rest of the night, and into the morning. "It was the most wonderful night of my life." He answered.
"It was more than wonderful, Throttle. That night, you impregnated me," She said and placed is hands on her stomach. "In about seven months, you will be holding our child."
Throttle held his hands on her stomach, as the realization sank in that Carbine was pregnant with his child. He removed his glasses so she could see his eyes, then threw them aside, and said, "I'm going to kiss you, my gorgeous, pregnant, fiancée." He then sealed his lips to hers, kissing her with all the passion he could muster.
She arced her head back, giving him access to her neck, and said on a moaning breath, "Throttle!"
End of Story
