CHAPTER 4: OPERATION SASQUATCH

Snoopy and the Beagle Scouts woke up the next day and started their search for Bigfoot. They first had breakfast, then packed up their stuff, and began their hike through Monte Woods. They marched on for about an hour before resting for a while. Snoopy pulled out hi canteen and drank some water, as did the other birds. Oliver went off by himself for a bit when he seemingly fell into a deep canyon. But when Oliver took a look at this "canyon" he saw that it looked like a big footprint. He got out and ran back to get the others.

"||||| ||||| ||||!" he chirped, frantically.

"Oliver, what's going on?" asked Snoopy. Oliver, in his bird language, explained to Snoopy and the other birds that he fell into this hole that looked like a foot. Snoopy knew what that meant.

"Troops, we're in Bigfoot Country!" he announced. The birds looked at each other nervously. "Don't worry. Bigfoot is more afraid of us than we are of him. Why do you think he stays hidden in the woods all the time?" And after examining the "print", Snoopy and the Beagle Scouts continued their search for the legendary creature.

Elsewhere in the woods, three teenaged boys were goofing around. They were playing in a pond that happened to be in the woods. They were in their swim trunks.

"Now remember, guys," said one of the boys, who probably was the more responsible one, "this pond isn't that deep, so don't dive into it."

"Relax, Wiley," said a boy with long black hair that was in a ponytail. "We're just going to wade in it. Just to cool off."

"Rick's right, Wiley," said the third boy, sporting a red-haired mullet. "We know how shallow this pond is."

"Okay, you guys," said Wiley. "Just didn't want any of us to break our necks."

"Thanks for looking out for us, Wiley," said Rick. "Now how about joining me and Stu in here?"

"Okay." And the boys went into the pond, when Stu tripped on something in the water and fell into the water.

"Nice, dude!" laughed Rick. "Did you have a nice trip?"

"VEEEEERY funny!" Stu groaned. He was covered in mud and twigs from the pond.

"That pond must be filled with mud," observed Wiley.

"Wiley's right, Stu," agreed Rick. "You need a shower, man."

"We're in freaking Monte Woods, you guys," Stu retorted. "Where in the hell are we going to find a shower out here?!"

It was at that moment when Snoopy and the Beagle Scouts happened to walk by the boys. When they saw Stu covered in mud, they stopped in their tracks.

"I don't believe it!" said Snoopy. "Troops, Bigfoot is right there in front of us! Don't make a sound. I'm going to get some pictures."

Snoopy pulled out a camera and started taking pictures of the "Bigfoot". Once he was done, he turned to his troops.

"Okay, everyone," he said. "Let's head back to civilization and develop these pictures. We are going to be rich!" And the birds and beagle made their way back to the Brown household so Snoopy could develop the pictures.
