Chapter 2: Vina's P.O.V.
Sitting outside, the endless sky stretched far beyond the clouded borders of the kingdom, dropping of to the green valleys and tall mountains below. The place where war was taking place and death was free to roam. I would be sitting on the edge of a cloud, watching as the forces of the chaos kingdom struck once again at the spirit kingdom.
"That's the seventh time this season," I would sigh to myself. "when will he decide enough blood has been shed?" As i sat, i couldn't help but remember what caused the events that led up to this.
As i walked along the lit hallway, i would study the murals along the walls, depicting the past kings and queens of the kingdom meeting and discussing various things. Finally making it into the meeting room, i would spy both friend and acquaintance alike. Diana, princess of the kingdom of heaven, would be silently conferring with her mother, seeing and waving at me happily, a motion that i would gladly return. I would then spy Sahara, prince of the spirit kingdom reading a book, patiently waiting for the meeting to start. A quiet one, he was.
Then i would see the twin princes of the art kingdom, Simon and krowe. They would be drawing things on some paper they brought, whether it was animals, people, or buildings, it didn't matter. I would smile at them all, remembering the times we've spoke to each other, the things we would tell each other.
Sighing happily, i would then turn to the other members of the room, my smile turning into a frown as i regarded them. Norian, princess of the kingdom of nightmares, would be to herself, muttering under her breath distractedly. Alaric, prince of the kingdom of hell, would be watching norian curiously, nursing at a tankard of rum. 'and in a meeting room!' I would think, turning my nose up at the sign of disrespect, before looking at the other members.
Jannik, prince of the burning emblem, would be sharpening his blade casually, seemingly without a care in the world, while glacious, prince of the sea kingdom, would excitedly be telling jannik about the "most promiscuous mermaid in his kingdom." looking around some more, i let out a breath as the one person i didn't want to see didn't seem to be here, before stiffening as i felt an arm drape around my shoulder.
"Hello vina, my love." A mocking voice would murmur in my ear, and i would whirl around, snarling at the offender. Deacon, prince of the kingdom of chaos, and unfortunately, my husband-to-be. It was an arranged marriage, one that i would curse for years. "Deacon." I would reply, colder than a sheet of ice. Deacon would open his mouth to reply, no doubt it being a sarcastic remark, but could get no words out as the doors to the meeting room closed with a resounding boom, and our parents stood up. "now then," Sahara's father would announce, smiling. "let us begin this meeting, shall we?"
Scurrying, i would sit in-between diana and sahara, the former smiling at me, and the latter nodding his head respectfully, book already put away. Then, we would all watch our parents, ready for them to begin speaking about business, only for them to stay silent.
After a few minutes of silence, i began to shift uncomfortably. What was taking so long for our parents to begin talking? I wasn't the only one with these thoughts, as the other prince and princesses began to either mutter silently, or fidget a bit, until sahara's father talked once more.
"Sahara." Sahara would perk up, looking at his father when his name was called. "Yes father?" He would inquire. "We decided before coming here, that our children would hold the meeting today." While speaking, he would move from his podium, and present it to sahara, with the other parents following his actions, my mother, nasmei giving me a small smile. Looking at sahara, i would stifle a laugh as he would look like a deer about to be hit with a fireball, before he would shake himself out of it. "O-of course, father." He would wince at his stammer, it of course not being unnoticed, as deacon let out a cruel bark of laughter.
Walking up to the podium, sahara would take in a breath, before letting it out, and calmly saying, "Let us begin this meeting. To start us off..." Sahara would suddenly sport a grimace on his face, seeming suddenly nervous. "...The fallen kingdoms of light and peace." And all at once, the mood would turn somber, multiple heads going down in remembrance and respect at the aforementioned kingdoms.
"Why must we speak of this?" Deacon would interrupt, a scowl on his face. Sahara would calmly look at deacon, and respond with, "Because we need to decide what to do with the kings and queens of the chaos and nightmare kingdoms, and figure out a just punishment for destroying the kingdoms." Deacon would scoff, leaning back as he grumbled something i imagined was particularly nasty towards sahara, while norian would look shaken, and her mutterings would increase.
Jannik would suddenly speak out, looking at his now very sharp sword as he spoke. "I say we should chop their heads off and be done with it." Deacon would spring up at this, snarling at jannik, "If you think i'll let you kill my parents, you're as stupid as that claude figure you always prattle on about!" Meanwhile, norian would look even more distressed at the thought of her parents getting decapitated.
"Hold your bloody tongue, chaos mutt!" Jannik would all but roar, all but ready to leap over his podium to deacon. "You will not speak of our past warriors with such disrespect!" 'Great,' I thought despairingly. 'Hasn't even been fifteen minutes, and everything is already falling into arguments.' My thoughts and whatever scathing remark deacon had for jannik was interrupted by sahara calmly clearing his throat, making the room fall silent.
"If you two are finished," Sahara would begin, tapping his podium. "Then i would like to continue our discussion." The two glaring at each other, would then move back behind their podiums, grumbling under their breaths once again. "Thank you." Sahara would politely nod his head at them both, then continue what he was going to say before.
"Now, i believe we don't need to resort to killing the kings and queens-" Jannik would snort, opening his mouth to let out a snide remark about sahara, like he has many times before, but sahara continued. "-But, i do believe that we should have them removed from leadership, and have the role given to deacon and norian." Silence would ring throughout the meeting room, before our parents would all start muttering to each other, causing sahara to shrink slightly in anxiety.
Glancing around, he would look at both diana and i, and i would offer an encouraging smile, while diana would mouth uplifting words to him, causing him to smile, then turn back to attention of the rest of the occupants. "So, are we all in favor of giving deacon and norian leadership?" Sahara would raise his hand first, followed by alaric, simon, glacious, diana, and the two in question. "And all opposed?" I would raise my hand, along with krowe, and jannik. I would sigh, seeing that we were outvoted. "Then we just need to make it official." Sahara would say happily, before flinching, and turning to his father. "Right, father?"
Nodding, his father would say, "This will be your first offical meeting, as you will grow into the future leaders of he kingdoms, so for once, we won't say anything unless we believe it to be too much for you all." Sahara would nod at that. "Thank you father." Turning back to deacon and norian, he would congratulate them. "I hope you both lead your kingdoms to a bright and fruitful future.
Musing to himself, deacon would scratch his chin in thought. "So you'll have to call me 'lord' now, huh sahar-" "Not on your life." Sahara would pointedly interrupt, a smile still on his face as deacon would chuckle. "Now for the next point of the meeting..." Sahara would wait for the chattering to quiet, before saying the next words that intensified the war for the next 3 years.
"Whether we should reactivate the chaos and nightmare kingdom's crystals or not..."
My memories would be brought to a sudden halt, as a messenger would fly to me. "M'lady vina," The messenger would begin. "Lord sahara is messaging you on the basin." Speak of the devil, i mused to myself, spreading my wings and flying to my palace room. Landing down in the palace, i would trade greetings with my soon to be people to protect, before finally reaching my room.
Entering the room, i would close it behind me, and head to the basin in the corner of my room. When i looked into it, the water would suddenly ripple, before lifting and turning into a miniature version of sahara. "Hello sahara," I would greet my old friend. "What did you want to speak about?"
Sahara would look at me, and even when miniature, i could still see a determined light in his eyes. "I'm calling for another meeting by a month's time. I will not stop until we're all at peace, like times of old."
Speechless, i would ponder to myself for a minute, before smirking at sahara. "Finally. it took you long enough, i was getting tired of my wake up being to screams of the battlefield."
