Earthland is a world governed mostly by magic. Magic guilds are formed almost everywhere and being part of them are considered to be very profitable for those who has the strength. However, not everyone has access to magic within themselves. In fact, only about a tenth of the whole human population has it. As such, only the lucky few can become a wizard. Still, this doesn't stop magic from being the most common dependencies of humanity.

Despite this fact, few people scattered all over the world didn't prioritize magic even though some of them has the ability to do so. Instead, they focus on strengthening the body, mind and soul. They are the martial artists.

In the deep woods somewhere in the outskirts of Clover Town, a certain wild haired teen with a strange tail similar to that of a monkey wrapped around his waist was seen practicing various katas. This boy is Son Goku.

Goku was the adopted grandson of Son Gohan, which was an accomplished martial artist in his prime. Unfortunately, the elder Son died upon an encounter with a terrifying monster of the full moon. Thus, Goku was left in the woods of Mount Paozu on his own for years.

That was the case until he encountered a red haired girl who ended up getting lost near his house. After talking for a bit, he decides to leave the woods while carrying the four star dragon ball with him because he wants to join the girl on her way in finding a guild called Fairy Tail, and for him to explore the world, seeking for strong opponents to spar with just like what his grandfather told him on his stories. Sure, the journey was long because both of them didn't really know the path towards the guild but it was the reason why ended up spending a lot of time together, thus, deepening their friendship.

After splitting paths with the girl, he somehow ended up becoming a student of the Turtle Hermit Muten Roshi as the old martial arts master saw potential in him along with his other student Krillin. Goku also found out that Roshi was the former master of his late grandpa, which made him feel as if he was really following his steps on becoming a strong person even without magic.

And finally, after competing and almost winning the niche yet prestigious Tenkaichi Budokai, he sets out on his path to become strong by himself using the teachings of Gohan and Roshi along with his personal experience with fighting.

Goku was about to finish his daily routine when he heard a loud laughter somewhere. Thinking that it could be a monster that he could fight to test his current limits, he is already on his way.

"Nimbus!" he called to the golden cloud which is a gift from Master Roshi.

Following the sound of the huge monster along with various explosions, looking for the place of the event was easier than expected. With that, Nimbus flew at full speed towards the said place.

And a giant monster that is. He was amazed to see some people working together to defeat the huge being with a malicious feel of energy. However, he was bummed out to find out that he was not the one to find and fight it first. With that, he just jumped off Nimbus and landing near the spectators of the fight.

Upon his arrival, few people turned their heads towards him.

"Oh man! And here I thought that I get to fight the big guy." Goku muttered to himself which didn't go unheard by the small man who is watching the three teens fight as if they were his children.

"Hmm, no need for fighting that, young man. My children can handle Lullaby." the small man stated.

"Yeah, they seem to be enjoying themselves there. I wish I could join them."

However, it seemed that his words somehow jinxed the fight as the three ended up being caught by the powerful swing of Lullaby's somewhat wooden arms. They didn't sustain any substantial injuries yet they seem to be too exhausted to hold this fight for too long.

"I have to tag in!"

"Wait, a demon from Zeref's book is too dangerous for someone to go-" The old man tried to stop him but it's too late.

Seeing his chance right before his eyes, Goku's only course of action is to jump in towards the battleground. Half of his reason is to save those three people while the other half is about finally having the chance to fight a powerful being.

"So you're a demon, huh? I'll be your opponent now!"

Goku excitedly faced his opponent. Aside from various dinosaurs and wyverns, he has yet to fight a huge being who is able to fight like humans. He then drew his sacred staff called the Nyoi Bo. It is a magical staff that always matches the user's strength and is capable of extending to great lengths depending on how proficient the user is.

"Hah, you puny human dare to fight the great demon Lullaby? Don't make me laugh!"

However, his goading was interrupted by a powerful swing of the Nyoi Bo to his feet, causing the huge demon to almost fall down to the ground. This angered him as he began flailing angrily, delivering devastating punches that leave craters on the ground.

Goku saw through his emotions and evaded all of his attacks, angering the demon even more.

"You really are strong, huh? You're also fast for your size." Goku commented while delivering some counterattacks after every successful evasion.

"Don't mock me, you insect!"

Most of the spectators are astounded by the performance of the young man in front of them. Sure, some of the masters here can take down Lullaby on their own. However, it was a different story all together seeing a person who's seemingly toying with the demon and with a smile on his face.

In contrary to what the people was seeing, Goku was actually struggling a bit with the fight. And that is the exact reason while he is smiling. The thrill of fighting strong opponents is one of his best pleasures in life.

The fight was getting serious as Goku also began shifting towards the offensive, throwing some Kiai at a distance and the fast extending and shortening of his staff to rapidly hit the demon. Lullaby wasn't slacking either as he throws various magic beams towards Goku.

"I admit, you have some decent skills, insect. However, it will be the end of you once I unleash my dea- Aaack!" Lullaby wasn't able to finish his statement as he received a solid strike to the face by the Nyoi Bo, knocking him down to the ground.

Goku was about to charge his Kamehameha when he noticed the three mages who fought the demon earlier got back up and are ready to go back to the fight. They can't let some random guy just take down their prey. In fact, they can actually manage themselves without his help.

"That was fun while it lasted. You okay there, guys? You may tag in now if you want to." Goku called to the mages.

Because he wasn't the first to fight the demon, he can't just finish the job before them. It's just that a chance presented itself that he chose to fight the demon for a little bit.

The red haired woman, who is the leader of this wizard team, decided to immediately get back to the battle, sending lots of swords to slash the demon. The two guys soon followed with own relentless attacks of fire and ice, which amazes Goku for a moment before backing out and let them finish the job for good.

Goku went back to the sidelines and watch as the demon slowly losing ground. As he observed the battle, there's something familiar about the armored woman who is currently beating the living hell out of the demon. For one, he is amazed by how strong and adept in combat the girl is.

"Hmm, you're pretty strong, young one." the old man asked.

"Hehe, I guess the training is paying of."

"So, what magic do you use? Is it related to that staff of yours?" he asked, looking for the chance to hire this one to become a member of his guild.

"Ah, no. I don't really use magic. Anyone can use the Nyoi Bo with enough practice."

"I see. Still, it was impressive for a young man like you to achieve such feats."

"Hehe, I just trained a lot. Look, your children are about to finish Lala-whatever that huge guy is."

With Goku's prompt, both he and the old man turned their attention towards the combined attack of the young mages which successfully defeated the demon, along with obliterating the whole building behind it.

Goku in particular was amazed of what the people with magic can do. That is because although he is aware of how magic is commonly used as a fighting ability, he didn't really paid much attention to it up until now. The only time he was involved in magic was that one time when he asked the fortuneteller Baba to make him weighted clothing using magic materialization.

The old man saw the glint on Goku's eyes while watching his three children finish off Lullaby. Even if he doesn't really know about this guy right beside him, he knows what people like him are. He immediately saw through Goku's love for a challenge and battling strong opponents, a trait that is present among various members of his guild.

"So, how about it, wanna join my guild?"

But before Goku could answer back, he found himself being dragged along by the old man as he then saw the Guild Masters chasing towards them, angry about the destruction of the area. With that, he just let himself be dragged along.

After losing the old mages, the group stopped running to catch their breath. Well, everyone except Goku. He just looked at the people who unknowingly dragged him along with han oblivious look on his face. For one, he can't believe that these people are old man's children.

However, his eyes lingered to one girl in particular. For some reason, the red haired girl, who is also staring back at him, looks very familiar. The staring contest was broken when he heard the girl mutter his name.

"G-Goku?"

The red haired girl's peers looked at her, surprised that they managed to encounter an acquaintance of hers that they didn't knew of.

"Eh? You know this young man, Erza?" the old man asked.

"I think so, Master Makarov." she replied as she then turned her attention towards the wild haired man in front of him. "You're Son Goku, right?"

Goku finally realized the unknown familiarity that he felt earlier. Yes, she knew this girl. It was the same girl that somehow got lost in the woods of Mount Paozu years ago. He remembered how they were constantly sparring while traveling to look for a place called Magnolia town.

"Wait, so you're Erza? Awesome, you grew up to be so strong!"

"Speak for yourself, you managed to hold Lullaby on your own." she replied, somewhat disappointed that that was the only thing he greeted her with after being gone for too long.

"I've been training hard these past few years, you know." He then turned his attention towards the other people nearby who were surprised for some reason. "Are they your lost siblings or something? Because the old man said that you are his children."

Hearing him being dragged to the conversation, the old man decided to speak a few words. "In a way, yes. Being the master of Fairy Tail guild, I see all of the members as my children. By the way, I'm Makarov Dreyar."

"Fairy Tail... I guess that's the reason why Erza grew up to be so strong. I heard you guys are the strongest guild in all of Fiore!"

"So, do you want to join our guild?" Makarov asked again.

"But I don't have any magic. I heard that guilds only accept those with magic." Goku replied.

"Well, not Fairy Tail. We accept anyone who knocks into our door. It's not about magic and whatnot, it's about family. Besides, from what I've witnessed, you're pretty strong enough to rival some of my strongest members."

Makarov could see clearly that this Goku fellow here is one of those guys who practice more on strengthening the whole body and manipulating their own life force in battle. He can still remember about the guy named Son Gohan during his youthful days. He was amazed to see someone who takes on a pack of vulcans so easily using his fists alone.

Son Gohan... Son Goku... Could he be?

"You say your name is Son Goku, right? Do you happen to know a man named Son Gohan?"

"Yeah, he's my late grandpa. I want to be as skilled as him one day!"

Goku is aware that ever since he graduated from the Turtle Hermit's tutelage, he already surpassed his late grandfather when it comes to raw strength and speed. However, he wasn't on his level yet when it comes to skill and experience, both of which are vital things to the martial arts field.

"I thought so. I only met him once and I was astounded by his skill." Makarov said. "So, about my offer, would you accept it?"

"Well, if there are strong guys then yeah, I accept!" Goku cheered happily, unknowingly grabbing Erza's hands. "Yeah, I finally got to be in the same guild as you, Erza!"

Meanwhile, although delighted by his childhood friend joining her guild, she was averting her eyes from him for a reason. If only the is out right now, people could clearly see the slight tint of red on her cheeks.

"Why you didn't just join me the first time around?" Erza asked.

"Hehe, it didn't really crossed my mind. Oh yeah, I can't wait to tell you all of my adventures when we get back to your guild!"

This made Erza look down and smile to herself. It seems that after all these years, Goku is still the boy with a tail that she met at the forest. As for Goku, he can't wait to see what kind of adventure he would go to now that he is now in the same guild as the one who brought him out of the forest and opened his world of adventure.
