Hi there, I've seen the new musical movie Cyrano and it inspired me to write a story about this movie. In that Case, that you haven't seen the movie yet, there will be a few spoilers at the beginnig, but as much as I can say now, most of the story take place AFTER the movie (with an important change)

Well then... after that... have fun with the first Chapter

Many of us hear about angels at some point. After all, everyone has to believe in something. But I learned early on how strong the power of words can be. Especially when they hurt. I was a freak of nature, only half the size of my fellow human beings. People laughed at me, children ran away from me screaming. My opponents teased me, but I've learned to deal with it. I didn't believe in angels or in God. I believed in the power of the word and the sharp blade of my sword...

Cyrano de Bergerac

Everyone gets a guardian angel. One or the other even sees him, while other angels remain hidden from people forever. Angels have no name, they take a name on assignment, chosen to suit the circumstances. I've had a few protégés and have been in the business for a long time, as the saying goes. I am usually chosen for the unusual protégés because I have a special connection to people who are not like the others. Once again my path led me to France. To Paris in 1640. I landed in a dark side street and heard the noise of battle not far in front of me. I followed the sounds and see several men rushing toward a person half their height. I knew this was my charge, Cyrano the Bergerac. Although I was his guardian angel, I stayed in the background for the time being. Despite his size, Cyrano was quite capable of defending himself with his sword. He was really surprisingly good at it, you didn't even notice that his opponents were twice his size. But then he was pushed against a wall and a noose was lowered over him. They put the noose around his neck and probably wanted to hang him here on the spot. That was when I had to intervene. I flew toward Cyrano, grabbed his belt so the noose wouldn't smother him, and flew up with him. The opponents on top of the wall were amazed that Cyrano arrived at the top unscathed and even resisted them. I helped him out a bit behind the scenes by tripping enemies or throwing the one trying to attack Cyrano from behind. When everyone lay lifeless on the ground, Cyrano looked around: "I know you're here, show yourself!"

He came towards me with his sword still drawn, but I was not yet in sight for him. I grinned down at him while waving my hand into his view. He winced when I suddenly appeared in front of him.

"Who are you?" he asked, threatening me with his sword. I raised both hands: "Don't panic, please put down your sword." I said soothingly.

Cyrano gave me a skeptical look and stepped back, keeping his sword in hand, ready to defend himself.

I bowed and said: "I am Jeanne and from today, your guardian angel, Cyrano."

Cyrano laughed: "Guardian angel? What nonsense."

I crossed my arms, "Don't you believe me?" I asked, for I had appeared before him without wings. Very few have ever seen our true form, for this form is far more fragile than the human body we can assume. Also, our true form might frighten people, and to avoid that, we assume a more harmless, mortal form.

"I only believe what I see." Cyrano said.

"Didn't you find it strange that the noose didn't bother you?"

"It felt like someone was carrying me... But no, that's impossible!"

I shrugged and walked past Cyrano. As I did so, I let my wings appear briefly and took a feather from them. Cyrano stared after me in surprise. I handed the feather to Cyrano.

"Proof enough?" I asked.

Cyrano gaped at me as I let my wings disappear again.

"Why would I need a guardian angel?" Cyrano asked, turning away from me.

"No offense, but it seems like someone is pretty mad at you." I said, looking at the unconscious men on the ground in front of us.

"I'm doing very well on my own." Cyrano said angrily.

"I saw that." I said, also annoyed.

Cyrano looked up at me over his shoulder and raised an eyebrow.

"Like it or not, I'm your guardian angel and I'll keep an eye on you from now on."

Cyrano sighed and left. I followed him unobtrusively.

"Are you always following me now?" he asked grumbling.

"Not always. But as often as possible. But don't worry. Nobody can see me except you."

"Oh good that you mention that. I have to be careful that no one notices when I'm talking to you, otherwise they'll think I'm crazy."
