On their way back to the dorms, neither Raven nor Apple said a word until the blonde finally broke the silence.
"When… when did your mother place this curse on you?" asked Apple.
"Back when I was eight," said Raven.
"That's around the time that she started to whip me every day, didn't stop me from crying though," she said without any emotion. Apple just froze in her tracks at hearing that, all color having drained from her face.
"And I've been… trying to make you… be like her," said Apple as she choked on her words. The blonde princess then ran over to some bushes where she proceeded to throw up.
"Apple," said Raven as she walked closer.
"I'm sorry," said Apple as she turned around and sat down on her butt.
"If I had known then I would never have…," she said while tears ran down her cheeks.
"It's not your fault, Apple, I've never told anyone but those who saved me about what she did," said Raven.
"That still doesn't hexcuse everything I've put you through," said Apple at the same time she wiped away her tears.
"Then you can make it up to me by just being my friend from now one and never mentioning destiny in front of me again," said Raven while holding a handout to Apple.
"I think I can do that," said Apple with a cheerful smile as she took the witch's outstretched hand in order to help her stand back up.
"Come on, let's get back to our room so you can rest," she said before walking away. As Apple walked in front of her, Raven's expression changed to one of sadness.
"If only it wasn't for that last curse, then maybe things would be different," thought the witch while staring at the back of the princess's head. Back in the present, Apple had finished getting ready for the day.
"Ready?" asked Raven as she held her hand out while standing at the door to the room.
"Ready," said Apple with a smile as she grabbed her hand before leaving.
