few hours have gone by since the kiss.
kiss.
she still has an inner conflict about it. is that bad? or was it normal perhaps?
she doesn't know. she's so confused.
she heard of kisses before, even seeing them in action. makino explained to her that it's an act of affection, but she's always been doubtful of that. after all, who places their lips on someone's mouth? that sounds disgusting!
but a while ago, it was her first time experiencing it. and it wasn't so bad.
trying to keep her composure, she took a deep breath. she's sitting on the figurehead of the sunny, sorting her mind out. not something she would do, and she is aware of that. but the whole thing is messing with her head.
act of affection... did law mean that? it's probably just a spur of a moment. the way he looks at her has no affection at all. more of a predatory look that's ready to devour their prey. it sends chills instead, and she's sure that expression was the opposite of affection.
yeah, it's definitely not that. law was probably just messing around with her.
albeit, frighteningly.
with a resolved thought, she jumped back aboard the deck of the ship and guided herself inside. she had a clear idea of where law would be.
she opened the door, and there he was. sitting on the same spot on the couch of the aquarium room.
"torao? i- we need to talk," she said. a bit hesitant, and she doesn't know why.
law opened his eyes slowly. she always views people in an equal way, and doesn't care how scary or weak they are. she will always be confident in herself and act the way she is, be it challenging a strong opponent without breaking her stance or much more. but just seeing law, someone she's in alliance with, makes her feel small. like she's in the low position from him.
she doesn't like the feeling. she wants it to go away.
"hm? what do you want to talk about, mugiwara-ya?"
"i may be stupid, but i'm not that dumb! what did you do a few hours ago in the alleyway!?" she snapped.
law simply gave her a smirk, "that was a kiss. did you not know what it was?"
"of course i know, i've seen them!" she replied.
law raised an eyebrow but didn't say anything.
a thought rose from her. what happened to law? just a few days ago he was really nice. not gentle, but he gives her a reassuring feeling. even a piece of great advice. now, she felt like he was a completely different person.
did something happen? maybe the law she sees is an impostor?
"are you law?" she decides to ask. ignoring how stupid the question was, and contradicting her previous statement. bit by bit, her determination on asking law questions crumbled away, and even her sorted thought started to scramble itself all over the place. she's supposed to be the one in control here!
"why are you asking that stupid question? you know i'm law. didn't you say you're not dumb?" he replied, deadpanned.
luffy didn't say anything. mouth shut tight, trying to think of how to continue the conversation.
really, she was so confident a few minutes ago. and within seconds law manage to make that confidence fall apart.
"why... why did you do that? i'm confused, i-" she stopped talking when she realised law already stood up and approached her again.
law immediately kissed her again. softer this time and she could actually try to shove him away this time. but perhaps is his gentler way of doing it now that she decides to stay still.
she focused on the feeling. it was.. nice. certainly better than the first time he kissed her. he didn't put his tongue inside her mouth now, to which she's grateful for that.
it's odd, yet satisfying at the same time. she melted on the kiss, closing her eyes and focusing on the kiss once more.
law retracted from the kiss, looking at her eyes with the same expression she saw in the alleyway. though, a hint of softness was more prominent in those pairs of golden hues.
"does that answer your question?" he asked while smiling coyly.
she stared at him for a little longer, before opening her mouth.
"no."
law sweatdropped, not expecting that answer.
"i-i mean, i suppose... i'm still confused, but i think i get it," she replied squeakily.
'it wasn't supposed to be analyzed further. just focus on the feeling. mugiwara-ya was more of the latter, isn't she? strange,' he mused on his head.
he guessed he messed her head too much.
"you were so nice back then, and i'm just lost. that's supposed to be zoro! my sense of direction is better than him at the very—" she was interrupted again by a kiss once again from law. she goes with the flow and fully accepts it.
it doesn't seem so hard now.
'he's still the same torao.. i'm glad…'
